Hi Scott, thanks for the reply. I rendered in p5 with P4 render engine. I hardly ever use firefly. It can't be reflections though, because even with different lighting, the same areas are always messed up, even if the light comes from the other direction. I never changed the lighting in those images either. When I load up Poser after work, I'll see if it happens again in p4 render engine, and try it in firefly and see if I get the same results though.
Thread: Photo Correction Challenge? | Forum: Photoshop
This sounds like fun. If I have some time this weekend, I might fiddle with it (even if it's not an official challenge). I like messing with photo correction =) Lovely guitar, even if it is a copy! I just have a Fender Mexi-strat and a Yamaha Pacifica. And my grandfather's very old accoustic which I never play because I need to work on it.
Thread: Problem with upload form for new image | Forum: Community Center
Hm, that is weird then Bez! I just rechecked it after your first reply and they were still all out of wack. Let me peek again... Hm, well they're all out of order in Opera:
Let me try in IE... Well, they are in order on IE. Ugh. I hate IE =( sigh I really hate to use IE when I want to upload here. And just for S&G's... let's try in Firefox. And of course, they're in order there too. Figures! There are only like 2 sites that give me grief with Opera, and now Renderosity's going to be one of them =( That really depresses me, lol.

I do apprecieate the fix so that the comments appear, but I just went back to try & credit the merchants who's products I used and I see they're still not in alphabetical order. There are so many wonderful merchants here on RO, but I really can't just sit there and go through the whole list to find the ones I used. That's quite a task.

Normally I use Opera, so I tried with that first. The last image I uploaded since the gallery updates worked fine in Opera. But, when I noticed my image comments weren't there, I tried it in IE and still had no luck, still found the drop down box to be empty. I noticed one of my favorite artists uploaded today too, shortly after I did, and she didn't have any image comments under her image either, so it makes me wonder if I'm not the only one with this problem. Thanks for the reply Karen =)
Thread: is there any rock brushes? | Forum: Photoshop
There are some wonderful brush sets for sale right here at renderosity. I see that Raptura makes one. I don't own that pack, but I have several other Raptura brush packs, and they're very nice. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=44179 I also own Ravenheart's Landscaping brushes, and there are some rock brushes in there too, and I like them. Looks like the addon for the Landscaping brushes also has more rock brushes. Landscaping: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=18041 Adon: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=19558 What I like about RH's landscaping brushes is you get a lot of landscaping brushes, not just rocks. Skies, clouds, planets, grounds, waters, trees, etc. You could try doing a google search for some free rock brushes too. Hope this helps. =)

Ok, so it's not just me, lol. I do apprecieate getting ebots when my fave merchants upload a new product, but I've gotten about 12 so far for the same product. Not complaining, just letting you know. =)
Thread: Newbie question for the Pros | Forum: Photoshop
Just tried ctrl-click, and it is better than selecting with the magic wand. =) Definetly less jaggies (Still a few, but not as many) and it works better with rendered hair too, leaving it much less distorted on the edges. Excellent tip! Thanks =D
Thread: Newbie question for the Pros | Forum: Photoshop
I'll be trying the Ctrl-click on the alpha channel for my next render, for sure. I'd like to see if it really is more precise than the wand. I don't get many jaggies with the wand, usually only around joint bends (elbows, knees, etc). But if it can save me a step, that's a darn good thing! Glad we were able to help you Stevie. =) And thanks for the ctrl-click tip, Aprilgem =)

Another way around this... When you render your image in Poser (I'm sure you can do it in P6, but I use p5), save your rendered image as a PSD file out of poser. Open your PSD file in Photoshop. Convert your background to a layer (Layer > New > Layer from background) On your layer pallete, you should have a tab that says channels. Click that. You'll see RBG, Red, Green, Blue and Alpha. Click on Alpha. The image will turn black & white. Your background should be black. Use your magic wand and select all of the black areas. In the Channels tab, click back on RBG. Your sellection should stay put. Now just press delete on your keyboard and your background should be deleted, leaving your poser figure on a transparent background. Another little trick... for the slighly jaggy edges you may now have on some of your poser figure's edges, just use a small soft smudge brush set to around 18% and lightly go over any jaggy edges. It'll smooth them right out without it looking obvious that you've smoothed them. I hope this helps. I know there are keyboard shortcuts for getting to the alpha channel & selecting the backgrounds, but for the life of me I can't remember them. But this is not hard and doesn't take long. Good luck! Hope this is what you wanted to know.
Thread: scratches help? | Forum: Photoshop
It sounds to me like you should flatten your layers from the previous steps, but when you make your scratches, make them on a new layer, then just duplicate your scratch layer & set that to multiply.
Thread: realistic vegetation using brushes and gradients - is it possible? | Forum: Photoshop
Hm, well... maybe someone else can answer this better, but this was the first thought that popped into my head... Put your grass layer on a new layer. Stamp it with any color (white, black, whatever). On your layer pallet, lock the transparent pixels with the little button that says "lock" and use your gradient tool to fill the grass with your green toned gradient. I tried this real quick and it gives a nice result. Hope this helps!
Thread: No Favorites ebots | Forum: Community Center
well, now I'm not getting private message ebots either. Just realized I had a PM here from someone, and no message about it.
