I will try applying the PHC to Nykta, save it out to get the cr2 and then compare it side by side with the original. I won't have any better idea of what I'm looking at, but comparing side by side, I will spot any differences.
If nothing shows up, I'll just live with it. It could be worse: it could be a terribly complex shader that would be a nightmare to recreate every time I wanted to make some changes to it.
Thread: Strange behaviour in Material Room with PHC Nykta | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If I copy and paste from the 01Sculp zone and paste onto the hi-res square, then the Material Room displays normally; the PoserSurface and the two nodes are visible on the same screen. Likewise if I paste the nodes onto the pyramid primitive. When I copy and paste them back onto the Nykta hair in 01Sculp where they belong, the Material Room displays incorrectly - the way it appears in my screencapture.
To look at the model's cr2 file and the texture is applied... I have no idea what is normal and what isn't in those files. Also, I don't understand how looking at the cr2 file will reveal anything when the model with its base textures behaves normally. It is only when I apply the PHC textures to the Nykta hair that the 01Sculp zone displays incorrectly in the Material Room.

After getting my secondary system back online, I have opened Poser and added V4 and the Nykta hair and I have encountered the same problem with the malfunctioning Material Room on the 01Sculp zone. The version of Poser on my secondary machine is the same that is on my primary machine, 10.0.5.28925.
So, if anyone has any ideas about what is causing this problem or a way to fix it, I would appreciate it. There is nothing else I can think of trying or that I haven't tried already.
Thank you.

I encountered a system failure on my second desktop so I am having to fix that before I can check if Poser on that machine has the same problem with the Material Room.
I should be able to check it today or tomorrow, but in the meantime, if anyone has encountered a problem like this or has some suggestions of what else I could try to fix it, it would be appreciated.

I have already downloaded the .zip file from my account, extracted the files and replaced them all in my Runtime. When this didn't work, I contacted the vendor and she had a look at her files and wasn't encountering the problem with her textures. So those two, a corrupted file or vendor error, can be ruled out since I already took measures to rule those out before I posted a topic on the forum. It was Peggy's suggestion that I posted a topic on the forum, since she didn't know what could be causing the problem and her files checked out. (She sent me a screencap to show me.)
It's all very frustrating, with it only happening to this PHC pack and the base product behaves normally, and the strange behaviour making the nodes inaccessible so it's not something I can really work around. Unless I want to be remaking the nodes for that zone every time I want to make a simple change.
Tomorrow I will check on my second computer if the problem happens there as well. Right now, it is 2:37AM and my second system is in dire need of updating before I can check anything.

Yes, the problem is only occurring with this specific PHC texture add-on and it is only happening to Nykta. I have loaded several other hairs that I have the PHC add-on for an all of them behave normally. I have never seen this sort of screen in the Material Room before.
I am running Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate edition and my content is all installed in external Runtimes on a partition on my hard-drive. The PHC add-ons are in the same Runtime as the Nykta base product. Comparing the version number on SM's page and the version number of my Poser, yes I am running the most recent SR.

Quote - @JKonstantine,
Can you tell me if you are recieivng the notifications as of today?
We think this is once again corrected.
I received about 130 emails when I logged in today. I'm still going through them, but so far, they are older products when I first became alerted that there was a problem with not receiving the emails.
I'll know for sure that the emails work again when my favourite vendors release new products, but considering the slew of emails I received today, this is definite progress! :D

Oh, that's a relief!
Annoying that there is something you need to fix, but I had some concerns that perhaps my email, or even my ISP was having a hissy fit about these emails.
Thanks so much for letting me know.

Quote - Just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about you. Can you tell me which ISP or mail providor?
I didn't think you'd forgotten about me! :)
My ISP is Telstra Bigpond, and my mail provider is also a Bigpond.com address.
The program I use for checking my email is Microsoft Outlook 2007.

Thanks for your speedy reply.
A couple of the vendors I have in my Favourite vendor list, are:
Silver
Countess
Sveva
Propschick
Maddelirium
Sabby
Seven
I know Sveva has definitely been releasing some new products over the last few days, but I haven't received any emails about them.

Thankyou very much for the link!
I should really go back to the manual and have another read. Even a little information from the manual will be more than I know at the moment.

Oh, wow!!
Thankyou so much, Miss Nancy! That is exactly the kind of effect I was looking for.
Now i can see which nodes are being used, I will start playing with the settings, and adding some other nodes just to see what happens. (but that likely won't be for a couple of hours yet - 37 degrees here today and I'm on the verge of passing out :( )
I am finding the Material Room rather confusing, and with no clear idea what most of the nodes do, so I am really learning by example. Looking at the Material room setup people have used on their props and characters, see how it works, and then play around to make something of my own :) So this is really appreciated!

I will just keep my fingers crossed that the Satin Flame will be one of the "Top 100" shaders that you pick :)
In the meantime, I will see what I can make in Photoshop for an image-based material setup that mimics the Satin Flame effect.

Quote - Over the years, Bagginsbill has released countless shader freebies both here and at RuntimeDNA; conduct searches with his name. RDNA has a separate forum section entitled "The Node Cult", an excellent place for tips, ideas and material collections.
It was the Node Cult board over at RDNA that brought me here, as many of BB's answers ot questions people have over there, he linked to threads here at Rendo.
I have gotten quite a few ideas of things to try from the threads at RDNA. :)

Apologies that the link didn't work. I thought I posted the correct link when I made the post last night, but apparantly something didn't work somewhere, and I am unable to edit my post.
The link to the post I was referring to is this:
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2852694&page=4
And the thread is entitled "Is there a decent pearl shader out there for Poser 9/Pro 2012"
But if these shaders are part of a commerical product, I look forward to the release of that product. I didn't know about the product that is planned for release, given the age of the thread.
I don't have a strong mathematical background, my mathematical background is actually nonexistant, so that's a little disappointing that I wouldn't be able to recreate these effects myself.
Thanks anyway for your replies!
