Thread: Boolean operations and really long render times | Forum: Vue
I've looked through the manual and all the options I can find in Vue Esprit and I can't find anywhere to convert the boolean items to mesh. It's not under the right click either as far as I can see. If anyone can help with this it would be great. I'd really like to be able to use boolean operations in Vue, but not if the render times are going to double or triple.

Quote - Have you convertred them to mesh yet or are you still rendering the actual boolean construction?
I didn't know there was a way to do that. That would explain the render times. How do you convert them to mesh?

I like the smoothness and fine detail that ultra gives. It probably has to do with the loads of antialiasing passes. As much as the manual says there is little difference, it is there. Since I'm only rendering at 800x450, this usually is not more than a few hour process. I have found myself using the new Superior setting in 5 more though, because it renders a lot faster but still has high-quality and is a good compromise for those really complicated renders.
