So glad I found this thread!  I am a big fan of Anastasia and have bought several items for her.  It's great to see the support she is getting, and I will definitely buy more clothing, shoes and hair as they become available.

With the information in this thread, I may even have a go at making something on my own! That will be a first for me.

Now that Reality 3 is out, I can't wait to see the fantastic renders that will result with the very lovely Anastasia via Reality/LuxRender.

Agreed, Reality 3 is going to rock the Poser world.  I've been using it (version 2) with DAZ Studio for almost a year, and it is phenomenal.  Unfortunately DS crashes VERY frequently on my systems, so I have been making the transition to Poser Pro 2012, which seems much more stable.  So, greatly looking forward to the release of Reality 3 for Poser!

Hi All:

I am fairly new to 3D CG, and up to now I've just used purchased models and an occasional primitive to use for a backgound or such.  I'd like to get into making my own things.  I know that to make complex models I need to learn a modeling program such as Silo or Blender.  But I'd like to start with something very simple.

I'd like to make a simple room I can place my figures into.  Just a plain room, with maybe a door on one wall, and a window on another wall, for visual interest.  I'd like to have moulding, maybe an optional wainscott, maybe texture the walls with wallpaper, and have either tiles or wooden flooring on the walls.

Is this something that can be easily done in Poser, or am I better of going straight into something like Silo?  I have a copy of Silo and some tutorials, if that is the best way to go.  If this can be done in Poser, can anyone point me to any tutorials or other information that would help me do this?

Yes, I remapped the Expose keys to use the Option modifier. They get in the way of many apps.

Here is another question for Paolo or another Mac-knowledgeable DAZ Studio user:

I have not been able to make DS4.5 recognize my Space Navigator 3-D joystick, so I thought I would enable the keyboard shortcuts Paolo showed us in the first "Make Your Own Reality" video.  But it seems the Edit menu has been totally changed, and I cannot find the "Customize" feature anywhere.  Can someone point me in the right direction?

I have a quick question for Paolo or any other Mac user...

My new iMac 27" machine just arrived Tuesday, and I've been getting it set up and running with DAZ Studio 4.5, LUXrender and Reality.  I have a fresh setup with the DAZ-supplied Genesis Essentials in the library, and I was able to do a test render with Genesis and provided skin, hair, etc.  The system seems to render about 10 times faster than my PC, so I'm pretty excited about that.

Here is my problem...  When I download a purchased product on the Mac, it seems to unzip the files into a folder hierachy in the Finder, and I cannot find a way to merge the folders into my Runtime.  On the PC, I was in the habit of unzipping directly into the My Library folder, and the subfolders were automatically merged into the existing folder hierarchy.  I can not find a way to do this in Mac OS X (Mountain Lion).  If I drag the folders in, it warns me the folders will be replaced, and there is no "merge" option.

Help, anyone?
