Seagate does make a pretty reliable drive...my old 10 gig Barracuda that my P3 800mhz machine came with still works just fine, as does that old dinosaur of a machine. Slow as molasses, but she runs. Can't say that Dell never did anything right...she was real good for a few years.

I run an Nvidia GeForce FX5600, which is not the best card out there, but it is really good. I'm not sure how it compares with your Radeon, as i'm an Nvidia man, myself. As far as your drive question, Western Digital is a very good way to go...some of the best hard drives on the market right now.

I am so glad that a team of developers was on this amazing belt buckle rather than something silly like modern medicine. Sadly, If I had 40 bones to throw around, i'd probably get one.

I have a beautiful little Kingston 512mb Jump Drive for backing things up...that and it's way easier to carry this little bugger down to the university labs to print than it is to go through the rigamaroll of e-mailing it to myself. That, and i'll be able to back stuff up on CD. Or this machine.

Well...consider that this computer is ridiculously old...i can't even begin to make an estimate...7, 8 years maybe, and the only thing that has been replaced/upgraded is RAM, and a 40 gig hard drive was added. Oh yeah, my new system's got an 80 gig Western Digital hard disk. Not the biggest drive, I know, but i haven't managed to fill up this 40 yet...lol.

Yeah, so they won't be powerful in 10 years, it'll still be free to replace them...haha. It came in handy on my RAM, they got shipped faulty...i'd rather not pay for a gigger of RAM twice...lol.
