You're right, BB. My project is to turn a posed Alyson into a golden statue. It looks fine in the Preview (Image 1):

PLEASE HELP MEEEEE! I'm stuck in the Material room.
After three hours spent creating a figure which looks perfect in preview, every time I render it in the Material Room it goes to a barely defined yellow sillhouette. I've disconnected all the nodes and tried to start from scratch - but the render still blasts all the detail.
Is there a magic button somewhere called WYSIWYG which realigns all Material Room parameters to erase all the mistakes I MIGHT have made and makes the render look like the preview?????
Infinite thanks for any help provided......

Thanks also, estherau. The problem was I made the pose before adding clothes. I've now opened a new file, imported the standard Jessie, clothed her, and then added my killer pose from the Pose file. Great, but now I have to wrestle with the Cloth room to make them conform to the pose!
It's fun.....in a way ;o)

Thanks muchly, Deecey. I was referring to the Tutorial which is integral to my new Poser8 application. I've just followed your instructions - and it worked! Big hugs.

Nah, P113 onward is all about saving face morphs, Deecey. I want to save a whole figure POSE I've created into the pose library.

Can anyone tell me how to save a created pose into the pose library of Poser8? The manual seems to cite stuff from Poser7 which is not available in Poser8:
"Click the down arrow to the right of the Poses title at the top 2. of the Poses Library. This opens the Library Options menu. From this menu, choose Add New Category."
There is no "Add New Category" option in Poser8.
HELP! I've just spent 3 hrs creating a killer pose for Jessica and I don't want to lose it.

Okay. To close this thread I report that I bought Poser 8 and have produced my very first render - which is now in my gallery. Thanks for the advice, guys.

I've just had a little first time play with rendering using the free version of DAZ Studio, and like it enough to consider buying a full-blown rendering prog. But which??
I'm looking at Poser 8 now, and am concerned about the negative comments applying to Poser 8 and my Mac 10.5.8 system.
Can anyone tell me why e-frontier's Poser 7 is so much more expensive than SmithMicro's Poser 8?

Yeah, I've checked out Daz 3D Bryce 6.1 and they specifically state that it now includes Mac Intel compatibility - so I guess I'll play around with that and Daz Studio for a bit. Cheers.

Bah! I downloaded that training free version of Vue, but it wouldn't load. After some effort I found THIS buried away in the Vue FAQ section:
"Warning: all Intel-based GPUs on Mac OSX systems will** not work with Vue**."
So it looks like I'm unable to ever use Vue on my iMac 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
I'm now off to find out if Bryce does Mac
