Oops. Serves me right for skimming. I thought this would be a link to a site concerned with the "Iliad" and "Odyssey" of Homer. Still, glad I had a peek. As someone's already mentioned, it will be good to have a site that is focussing on making the "men" look good. Chloe
Thread: Poser Cache?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm not 100% sure, but I think this has more to do with your Page File settings for your computer than Poser the Program. I don't know how to do it, but I know it can be done. You can increase the Page File maximum. When rendering with Firefly, I've noticed that it's not Processor speed that spikes, but Page File Usage. Someone who is cleverer than me will hopefully post an instruction on how to adjust your Computer Settings to increase your PF maximum. Hope that points you in the right direction. Chloe
Thread: Extracting RDNA Hair Mats zip | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you for your help. I ended putting them in Downloads/Runtime etc..../Materials and am able to select them in the program. Curiously, the MATs do not take to "Skull Caps", however they work fine with dynamic hair. Too bad. A "Skull Cap" is a hands base to start from. Chloe
Thread: Colouring Hair (Pulling Mine Out) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes, this would be for Dynamic Hair in P 5. I will check out RDNA. However, ideally I should be able to select the colour for my characters hair, shouldn't I? How do I do this, if it's not using Materials (or am I just using Materials wrong) (I'm fairly new at this, as you may be able to tell) Thanks again. Chloe
Thread: sknin/body v.s. skin/head | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for your help. Re-read my initial post and think I sound like a "sarcastic grump". Lesson learned: Late night Posing & lack of sleep do little to improve my mood. Thank you both for your help. Chloe
Thread: Lighter Skin Tones | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've just tried that now, and it seems to be close to what I want. I'll try a bit of tweaking with that. Thank you very much. Additionally, once I've acheived the skin tone I want, is there anyway to save it as a "body texture jpg" to slap onto other characters? Thanks again. Chloe
Thread: **CHARACTERS** Making of them | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Depends on your project. The more subtle the difference, then the closer you may have to get so that the subtle differences between faces are apparent. If you're prepared to sacrifice a bit of realism, you can go for a "characiture" effect with your faces. Additionally, I'm sure I've seen a body morphing tool that will add "weight" to male characters floating about the "free section" of this site. Apart from that, more obvious differentials would be hair style and colour, not to mention fleshtones. If you have a photoshop program you should be able to experiment with the colouring for skin tones, as well as adding something like "freckles" to your characters to make some of them more unique than others. Hope some of that is helpful. Chloe
Thread: Help! Can't Export Image Rendered In "New Window"! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks to all those who chipped in. Phil had me sorted out, but now I'm sure that next time I can always highlight the render window and select "save as". Cheers, Chloe
Thread: Help! Can't Export Image Rendered In "New Window"! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you Phil, Yes, a more visible menu command would have been very useful. Thanks for your help. Was worried two hours of rendering was down the tube, on top of the posing and morphing. Thanks again. Chloe
Thread: Freckles | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I do have Microsoft Paint, but have a sneaking suspiscion that's "not going to cut it". I take it I would have to render my "Poser" image (it is Poser 5 by the way) then export the image as a jpeg or bmp, the open it in the paint program and "add my freckles" there? I'd be grateful if you would tell me more about GIMP and others that may be useful for this. Cheers, Chloe
Thread: Freckles | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you for that Ernyoka. Unfortunately I don't have Photoshop 7, or that would be a very useful tool. Can freckle effects be done to skin in Poser without the aid of an outside program? Is there a way to copy a "texture" from an image and use that as your base flesh tone? I have previously created a freckled head by using the "Import Photo" feature and instead of imposing the face, actually imposing a large section of "freckled skin" from a photograph. Is there a way to import that to the skin for the body as well? Chloe
Thread: poser 4 vs firefly renderer | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poodle,
Are you sure your program is actually "Locking Up" or is it maybe just taking a long time?
I tried using the Firefly Rendering with everything checked, presuming it to be "full bells and whistles".
The rendering process actually took 40 minutes.
I thought the program had locked, but when I checked my Task Manager, saw it was still running.
Heck of a long time to wait, but the finished product looks stunning.
