One thing you can do is create your tree and then create a sphere (or some of the fruit meshes out there) and put it on a branch of the tree. Select the tree and hit the little "I" gadget. In the Instamce Lab select the fruit from the pop-up and resize it down to the size of the tree and hit OK.
This is a 5 minute example image.

Like Dyret I also use DS to get Poser stuff into Bryce. I do a regular Save from Poser (.CR2), load that into DS 4.5 and bridge that yo Bryce7.
But you can also try using the .OBJ Group Import option (instead of .OBJ Mat Group) when importing into Bryce.

I was wondering, when will the entry page be up?
I'm going to be up in the mountains for a week starting Wed. with no access to the Internet (other then my cell). Kinda like to go ahead and get my entry in...

Well, my opinion is that it's also DAZ's fault as well.
They knew Bryce 7 wasn't going to work on OS10.7 before it's release and still made the descion to switch the Bryce Devs to de-bugging DS4 plug-ins. No doubt in my mind that Scopic software could have easily fixed the problem(which mostly involves the registration code) in short order if DAZ management had the desire to do so.
Also, a while back, they hired Brian Wagner. For those that don't know of him, he's the father of "modern" Bryce. He was lead programmer for Bryce at MetaCreations and was in charge of the Mac to PC port of Bryce2 as well as the PC to Mac port of Bryce3. He also did most of the programming of Bryce's render system. Nobody knows Bryce on both platforms like he does. His work on IBL while at DAZ made it one of the most stable and functional of the new features. And what did DAZ do? You guessed it, switched him to de-bugging plug-ins for DS. He left DAZ shortly thereafter. Another Bryce oppertunity lost by DAZ management descions.
The most ironic part is that DAZ has essentially killed the Bryce Mac market (which effects it's other Mac products as well) at a time when the Mac is the fastest growing segment of the PC market.
DAZ's commitment failure to Mac Bryce should concern all Bryce users...
Best to all;
Dan

There's no current development at all on Bryce, Mac or PC.
DAZ claims that there is going to be future development though...

Do you have Michael 3 by any chance?
I've used this several times and I think it's quite good. I tried to get it to fit M4 but that doesn't work.

You can also try searching for "denim" which brings up a lot more things.
Thread: What is 48-bit dithering | Forum: Bryce
48-bit dithering converts the 24 bit color to 48 bit color adds some randomness then coverts it back to 24 bit. This can prevent banding in smooth gradients (especially with skies).
Gamma corection was an attempt to split the difference between PC and Mac gamma so they look sorta the same on both platforms. The point is rather moot now that the Intel Mac also uses PC gamma.

Really nasty Mac bug - the best bet is to use B6 and save out and load in B7, but you can also load images via DAZ Studio or any app that exports .OBJ/MTL.
I create a cube in DS and apply the image and then use the Bryce Bridge to take it over to B7. This correcly loads the image in the Pict Editor. I then copy the cube and paste it into the scene I'm working on and can then be applied to other objects.
Same thing with.OBJ import.

Thread: obj imports alright but not .mtl???? | Forum: Bryce
First thing I'd do is opem the .OBJ in a text editor and search for the term mtllib . If it's found make sure it refreneced the exact .MTL file name (i.e. mtllib test_arch.mtl). If it's like this example the .MTL should be in the same directory.
If there's a path listed before it, then the .MTL needs to go where it points to or edit out the mtlib path and resave.
Or you can point me at the freebies and I'll take a look.
Bryce is pretty good at loading .OBJs, which is why I'd first think it was something in the .OBJ/MTL files.
