I did and she answered today..  We are trying to get it to work..  Her support so far is excellent.. now if only we can getr it to work for me..  I think it is because I am using a Mac with OS 10.6.2 and it must have some kind of problem running the script...  we shall see, I have plenty of time before I have to give up and get a refund and hopefully I won't need a refund..  I like the effect if only it will work....

 What offends me is everyone worrying about whether or not other people comment and how they do it..  If you worry about your own pictures and not what someone else says about what and how they say it on other peoples work it really should not bother TOO much..   I guess when one noses in on whether another is getting a particular kind of comment is where the real problem starts..  If joe blow get a million comments of "AWESOME" it is none of my concern.  Maybe Joe Blow likes hearing "AWESOME" and who am I to tell him that people commenting HIS works are wrong and being shallow.. As far as that goes what business is it of mine whether a person is writing Awesome on the other peoples stuff.  The other person is the only one that has the right to say they should not.. NOT anyone else... 

If everyone would quit wworrying themselves over what other people are doing, especially when it is none of their business, the level of pain you people who are complaining about over this non issue would simply go away.   Worry about your own pictures and the comments on those and if you want to close off someone whose comments you don't like on YOUR OWN WORKS then just tell them.. I am sure you will never get another such comment from them.. Problem solved!!

 The new system is a travesty.  I agree it is a bad idea and will never post anymore freebies as long as they use MY WORK to make money for THEM.... and forcing people to use this site for freebies will soon mean you will have to pay to post them as I am sure the excuse of paying for the Bandwidth will "Force" them to charge..  They don't make money off freebies so they don't even care if we have any unless they can find and ANGLE to squeeze every last penny out of the artists and those who make items for others out of the goodness of their hearts.  What a sad way to make a very good thing stink to high heaven... my thoughts on it anyway...

 Thank you very much.. Since I am on a Mac that might be a little bit hard to do.  However, I can copy paste a page from my browser, pictures and all, to my textedit page and also I have been doing this same process of copy paste from textedit for a couple of years and this is the first time it ever happened...  If I just write it to the Notes/caption box and not copy paste I don't think it will happen again.  I do however thank you for your advice..  

 I did fix it by re editing it and yes it was copy pasted from textedit to the box for "notes/captions" so it is the problem.. thank you for that.. good help from you so my thanks... problem soved.. it is jsut that i sometimes write my stories that accompany my pictures before the picture is made. It involves some fairly long stories that would be difficult to write as I post the pictures directly to the box.. I guess I hae no choice but , hey, it is a minor thing anyway.. I was just wondering if anyone else had this happen and I am glad i asked and got my answer.. Once again Thank You very much...

 Sending ANY response puts you on a mailing list that is given to tons of these folk.. You just set yourself up for more of the same..  I send every single one to the FBI email fraud devision with a copy of the email with the headers included.. It always ends up discontinued and I guess word got around because it has been 3 years since I got my last one..

 you're right phantom3D.. the time they last depends on the DVD brand and I have had some that went bad in a months time.. I used the PoserPro backup I made 3 times, as I had a few issues with my system and also learned that, on a Mac at least, DiskWarrior can really scr*w up PoserPro for some reason...

if worse comes to worse I can get a copy and just use my own Serial number as a I have a paid for license (after all, it is all you really own on any software or you could sell anyones software to anybody.. as pirates seem to do) and though you can not transfer a license you can have one backup and as of yet I have seen no restriction concerning where it came from as long as the license is one you paid for yourself..

I don't condone any type of piracy but this would seem to be in keeping with the spirit of the law.. so I am not worried about losing my ability to use PoserPro, as I stated above.. not the issue but one of fairness in treating everyone equal.. as I see the problem anyway.. but I do thank you for your concern as I do everyone who has answered this thread.

 It was Poser Pro and it was FULL price.. I DID make a backup but DVD's even if you never use them do tend to have errors..

 I didn't download it but once and I got it through E-Frontier's site and now SmithMicro has it..  My wife and I do business (our own business) with a few of the employees and officials at E-Frontier but SmithMicro has taken over Poser and they CHANGED (at least to my knowledge) the policy..

As for someone breaking the site at SmithMicro and stealing the program does not mean they are stealing MY issue of PoserPro does it?

 I now, at this point, have a useless DVD I burned myself and when I bought it I PRE-ORDERED it.. the hard copies were not even out at the time..  only the download copies...  if I had wanted to pay again for a hard copy I could have paid for it then (OR NOW it seems..) at this late a date I can have a hard copy if I want to BUY it all over again...doesn't seem quite fair to me but hey, it's only $240 some odd dollars and money grows on trees, right?  

As for it saying that it would only be a limited time download I assure you, at preorder time NO such thing was EVER expressed.. it was all sweet and nicey-nice to get folks to order ahead of time..

also donquixote, I fail to see why you add that they could be impersonating me to steal a copy.. I assure you there are enough copies floating around on the pirate sites and torrent sites that to have to hack smithmicro would be the hardest way to get it.. so that excuse does not hold water .. unless they had my serial number they can't pretend to be me..

and to markschum.. this site HERE allows you to download your purchases and I have on quite a few occasions... some of which add to be at LEAST this amount, as does Daz and 3DCommune and Content Paradise as I still download items I bought there YEARS ago( or at least I could till SmithMicro took over....  as a matter of fact I have YET to do business with any site that has not backed up the purchase with a download if I needed it..  

Even when CP quit doing business with a few sites, THOSE sites supported my purchases on their own sites including this one and RuntimeDNA...  Their is NO purchase I have made that I can not get a copy of at THIS time except this one item on that ONE site..  THAT is a FACT.. unless of course the item was discontinued altogether..

I ONLY wanted to know if anyone BESIDES myself had been sent this letter to see if it was only me or had others been sent this same message.. If others that bought PoserPro have received this message then it is NOT just me but if no one else has got a message of this type I can't figure why I have received one of these..  If I am the only one then this REALLY WOULD BE unfair..

I really wasn't asking if anyone else finds it unfair as everyone will have their own opinion on this issue and as I have seen no two people on just about any site can agree completely on any issue, so it was a purely informational item for me to see to what extent this has been done...   

I figured some would be appalled at this and some would think it normal and some would think me an idiot for even bringing it up( as this is usually how it is when one askes for a judgement about a moral issue.. it is not a moral issue but a technical one..)

Did you or did you not receive one of these.. not "how do you feel about what happened to me" type of issue..  I know how I feel and that would be the only morality issue I would concern myself with.. I am not asking anyone to feel sorry for me.. that would be a total waste of everyones time and a waste of bandwidth I feel.. It is the reason the Header on the thread says "Has anyone else received this message" and not "everyone hate this company and feel sorry for genefleeman"  

So far even though you all say you read this at the time of purchase none of you say you got this message like I did.. so I guess my question remains unanswered so far..  but thanks for the input just the same (not sarcasm-- which I must put here or you might well think it is, as you can't hear the inflection in my voice or see the friendly smile .. PS... I apologize for the long post but there was a lot of questions and issues that were brought up here and I wanted to answer them all..

It isn't just the fact that a person makes some Money off of stuff that is a waste of space but on looking in the free area I find 3 pages of stuff all from the same person. Instead of putting these in Background "Packs" they put each and EVERY one of them in a different upload.. this serves NO function other than to make money and USE people for their own gain.. If they made art and sold the art then that would be one thing but to sidestep the limits put on picture uploads put in place for a reason and just upload countless garbage of seemingly useless types under the guise of a background is kind of ridiculous... Those are NOT backgrounds as anyone of any talent can tell.. They are one thing pasted to another and CALLED a background... RUBBISH!! I don't want to go through 5 pages of crap to find one or two usefull objects and the idea that everyone should put up with it because we "Don't HAVE to go to the free section" is just verbal hogwash... I am NOT going to quit looking for legitimate useful objects just because some person that wants to "USE" everyone thinks I should... I say that if they DON"T fix the problem that we BOYCOTT anything that appears to be of this catagory and the USERS can just do without the money they want us to help them make for trash...

I'm sorry karen, I really should be more thorough when I read forum posts...once again the stale taste of my own foot...lol...(I apologise for my eternal skepticism... the perils of a overly healthy imagination would be my diagnosis, I fear.....) When I post my work I usually check the view count and this gives me an indication on which pictures worked and which didn't. I print these works and use Rendo view counts as a sounding board. Guess now I'm (BLANK) out of luck....oh well, what else is new.....story of my life...
