I find that it is a bit easier to control the effect with a longer focal length such as 80mm or more. Also the focus zone being a bit longer behind the focal point than in front (as with a real camera) you may want to set the focal point just a bit in front of the subject that is to be in focus. Hi, There are more options in Vue4. In the Effects section of the material editor, you see that the default is World-Standard. The down arrow besides it allows you to change that.

Thanks all for the nice comments. The subject of the message was kind of misleading as this is my first Vue4 image but I have been using Vue3 for a while now. The faery character is not a poser model but it is supplied on the Vue CD. With this picture I finally understood the use of the "One Sided" check box in the material editor. Quite important for transparent objects. Gilbert
Thread: How to change default directories? | Forum: Vue
Hi, I don't know how to change the default, but there is a Windows workaround I use a lot: I put shortcuts to my drive/directories almost everywhere. For example, in the Scenes directory I have shortcuts to the path where my data is, so you get there with only one click.

Nice - Can you use the Walk Designer with the tawhak? I was thinking of getting it but since I want to do animations, this is quite important.

Use the Animation Palette to modify the angle of the feet after the animation is generated. Go to the Bend parameters for each feet and highlight the whole curve. Then with Ctrl-click you can move the curve up or down to get the correct angle
Thread: walking animation help needed | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi, I find that the easiest way to fix the high heel problem when walking is to move the curve in Animation Palette. Use the Bend dial on the first frame to set the foot right to see how many degrees it must be bent, normally it is around 30 degrees. Set it back to what it was. Then in Animation palette, follow these steps: 1-Select the foot 2-Select the Bend curve 3-Select the complete animation: make sure you see it all by fully extending the bottom bar. Then click anywhere in the graph, and drag the mouse to, say the right end of the graph. This will highlight that portion. Then shift-click anywhere in the highlighted area and drag the mouse all the way to the left - the whole graph is highlighted/ 3-Move the Bend curve up by the number of degree required. For this, you CTRL-click (the cursor then changes to 2 vertical bars) and drag the whole graph up or down. If your character is wearing boots, it is a lot easier if you hide the feet and toes. If you are looking for a web site, you should consider Skybiz 2000. It's not free but it's cheap ($100us) and offers an opportunity to earn money: as of June 30, 2000, 2.53% of participants earned over US$1,000 per week but the average amount earned is $215 per week. The site should get paid for itself quite fast with extra money to buy Poser stuff :) It offers 35MB, no censorship, no ads that you have no control on, is it is fast. To find out more, goto www.skynary.com/glamoureux/go and feel free to send me any question Gilbert
