Word to the wise.  I recently bought my dream machine using dual NVidia 4500's in SLI mode and Windows XP 64bit.  I am unsure as to whether it is the driver or the 64bit O/S but Poser 7 does not like one or the other.  I too am getting the mysterious crash to the desk top.  This usually happens at the very end of the render.  I have noticed that renders with a large amount of reflective material is more likely to cause the crash than those without.  Either way it's a damn pain in the arse.  There is an old addage with Poser.  Save and save oftern.  It applies today. 

I too am not here to convince you either way.  I let the creators and coders and marketeers say it all.  Since the release of Sydney and V4 at relatively the same time, V4 has greatly outnumbered the amount of items available to her.  Does that make her a better figure?  Abosultely not, in fact I would say that many of the skins and charachters currently available for V4 are  in my eyes, ugly.  Do I question their uselfulness, no.  I simply chose not to but them.  You say V4 lacks charimsa, I say you are misinformed.  No matter what character you chose, it's up to you the artist to breath life into her.  Do you take a lump of clay, place it on the wheel and comlain that it did not shape into a vase, no, you become the creator and make it what you wish.  Take V4, look into your creative nature, and I am sure you can create that special expression.

Poser 7 is a resource hog and is IMHO very slow.  I have a top end workstation and it absolutely crawls.  Bear in mind that I am running all settings at max, something I could not do with P6, but I was hoping for something with a bit more bang.  I am still hoping that EF will wake up to the modern world and go 64bit so I can take full advantage of my memory and processors.  My only advise, render while you are sleeping.

I think what you are asking is, no there is no pubic hair for the texture.  If I look at your posted picture correctly, I do see you have the texture for the nipples and areola.  That is the hires texture for V4 that comes from Daz.  There is no pubic hair or labia detail with the Daz textures (yet).

Please tell me how you change the shape of her face, make the lips thinner or thicker, make the eyes larger or smaller, make her nose into anything other than what comes standard?  Hmmmm can't do it, well I for one am not happy just making her smile or blink.  I do not believe anyone who purchased Poser 7 is happy with just the limited abilities, if you are, I have a truck I would love to sell you that can one day be a Porsche with just a few add ons.

Sorry all but I am on a rant tonight.  After reading all of the above comments and having loaded up Sydney and attempted to do anything with her out of the box, I can not see where people are saying she looks good.  Are we all using the same figure, did those that downloaded P7 get an improved mesh.  The Sydney that can in the boxed version is IMVHO even uglier that Vicky 2.  Again my apologies but I feel EF is laughing all the way to the bank on this one.

While I will admit it wasn't stated in bold letters and explained real well, they actually DID say it - I suspect most of us (including me) just missed it.  Says right on the place where you buy P7:

So what you are saying is it's ok to hedge and say any EF content versus ONLY EF content.  Semantics is not a game EF should be playing.  It's not that it's the $10, it's the principle of the matter.  Not to start a flame war or anything, but IMVHO, please place Vicky 4 and Sydney side by side, out of the box, no morphs and dare to compare.  It would be like comparing a diamond to a hunk of coal, Vicky 4 wins without a second glance.  It's a crying shame that companies continue to dump out half a$$ed products and rely on others to fix their mess.  You notice EF doesn't offer a 30 day money back guarentee.  I would return P7 back in a heart beat and wait for the full version of Vue 6I to be released.  You blew it E-Frontier.

Silly me, I followed the instructions on the included card and clicked on the square on the right hand side (being right handed and all) verus the square on the left hand side of the advert.  Perhaps EF/CP would want to sperate where folks click to make so a 6 month membership versus a year, it would be a smidge less confusing.  Oh while we are at it, try posting that the free $10 is ONLY good for EF products and not those by other true artists.  Looks like most of the Free items offered by CP for Passport members were included with P7 SE, imagine that.  But all told, it still does nothing to explain the absolutely horrendous figure you call Sydney.  Did you make a deal with the person who created it, so you would put in the figure and forego any morphs so they could rack up the money selling ANOTHER product to make what you got in the first place useable?  Am I pissed off, you betcha red rider, and I quarentee that there will be a whole lot more of us as people install P7.

I have seen some of the renders you are talking about concerning V4 and if I were to base my opinion on just those, I would agree with your opinion.  But, beings I have purchased V4 with the +++ morph pack, I can tell you without hesitation that V4 is an excellent model to work with.  I have posted a quick render in the galleries I did with V4 and I think it will convince you differently.

Very nice work, I believe we have seen the deathknell for V3.  Even after reading all of the complaints about V4, I can only say one thing, WRONG!  Vicky 4 is an excellent model to work with and so very easy to get a different looking character every time, versus the clones V3.

Just checked my email, got my notification of processing for my boxed version.  Hopefully within a week I can be one of the "I Got My Poser7" club members.

I would recommend waiting until the final release of Vue is out.  Using the Poser in association with what is essentially a reworked Beta version is not a cause for alarm.  I think what E-On is doing is using the customers as freelance Beta testers.  Best thing to do is to try all avenues of approach, document what works and what fails, where it fails and what all you included in the render.  Bump this info up to the E-On team so they can have it all polished and shiney by the time they release the final product.  That way I get to avoid all the trials and tribulations you had to go through. J/K :P
