Glad I could help. At DAZ store You can also find some interesting muscle maps for Mike and Stephanie by JTS. Maybe it's another "wowwwwww" for the kids... Alberto
Thread: looking for internal organ and anatomy parts... | Forum: Poser Technical
I did the same search some time ago, and I did found something interesting about human anatomy, but, as often happens, quality doesn't come cheap... By the way, if your wallet is larger than mine, I think You could take a look at this link: http://www.3dspecial.com/anatomyM2.html
Thread: Posing feet for high heels!!! | Forum: Poser Technical
I went nuts too, when first tried to put Vickie's feet in those damn high heels, boots, etc. They come distorted because they are conforming and so they take bend, twist and side from the character dials, and Vickie's starting position is, let's say, "flatfooted". The trick is real simple: being sure that the figure selected is Victoria - and not the shoe - put her foot bending to about 45 and her toe bending to about -45 (adjustements may be needed conforming to the height of the heels, and maybe You'll have to modify a bit also twist and side-side for a perfect fit),and You'll have those grat looking high heels feet. You can do that before You conform the shoes to Vicky, but it's the same if You do it after (in this case the distorted shoes will "magically" aquire their correct shape)- just remember to select Victoria as figure. Best second thing to do is locking the Vickie's toes (from the menu "Properties" check "Lock Actor"), so they'll mantain the correct bending respect the foot; better not to lock the foot because different poses need different positions. Only real important thing is those "about 45" between foot and toes. Women knows if that aches (before they get used to it) while I had to fight "against" Poser for hours before understanding how they worked. I hope it was clear enough (my English is not too good) and it helped. Alberto
Thread: V3 with working dials | Forum: Poser Technical
The problem could be the position of the folder "!DAZ" (which contains all of the INJ and REM morphs for V3)in your Poser directory. I don't know if You use Pbooost or other programs to manage your Poser libraries, but the folder "!DAZ" MUST ALWAYS be in Poser/Runtime/Libraries and You never have to change its location (e.g.:swapping it with other folders); otherwise the .cr2 or the .pz3 You created will not find the morphs and they won'y work. I hope it helps. Alberto
Thread: RAM Memory | Forum: Poser Technical
I have the same pc configuration as yours and all I can say is that P5 really runs with 256 Megs of RAM, but it's Slooooww (more than P4)... I'm going to upgrade to at least 1 Gig of RAM, and I suggest You to do the same. Of course, if you can get more RAM it will be even better: not only Poser will run faster, but it will be able to render more complex scenes (more than 5 Millenium figures together, hi-res maps, and so on...). A lot of people hope to take advantage of their "ultra-hi-tech" video-card, but I regret to say that it has NO effect on Poser (it has an "internal" way of rendering that works the same way no matter if you have a jurassic VGA or the latest ultra-smart-hi-res-video-card...). Last but not least: to take advantage of your RAM you MUST have Windows 2000 or XP, because Win98 can't manage more than 256 Megs of RAM. Hope it helped... Alberto

Thread: got poser5 and not sure witch i should buy victoria 2 or 3 | Forum: Poser Technical
Got Poser5 and already tired of July? No one can blame you.. I suppose You don't have Victoria1. In my opinion the question is basically about how much faster is your machine. P5 is "per se" slower than P4, then Vic3 is about 60.000 polygons while Vic2 about 25.000, and that really matters if you want to render something a bit complex (good textures, some cloth, some prop...)without having a real High-end machine. Vic3 has quite a lot more morphs than her previous sister (You can even turn her in a realistic male), but I'd say that, especially if you're not familiar with Vicky, Vic2 should be a quite good choice (I suppose now she's cheaper than before at DAZ, and then you can upgrade her to Vic3 without buying a total new character). In my opinion Vic2 has everything average people can desire: you can morph her face and her body in a real wide range of ways (and still have some morphs you never tried). Essentially you have problems only with complex articulations (i.e: hips and knees) at high degrees of bending/twisting, but nothing you can't adjust with an easy and fast postwork. I suppose Vic3 is a little better at that considering the big amount of polygons. The real flaw of Vic2 is genitals (just a "pubic detail" morph that's at least...sketchy), but Vic3 is not a lot better at that (look at Arduino's PerfectG in MarketPlace) and you'll always have to buy some upgrade (or do it yourself if you're good at)to give her something realistic and functional. By the way, someone at DAZ has to got real an issue with female genitals; it's not a question of being a pervert or not: if you can have an almost perfectly realistic mouth, hand or breast, why not genitals?! Considering the better fate of Mike I'd say it's something really Freudian (shrink's word). In the end, if you're not a "skin-pore maniac" I'd go for Vic2 (she has a lot of conforming clothes that fit very well, too)first, and then upgrade to Vic3. You can even buy them both, but, if you've not got a real good machine I'll don't relay on Vic3 only (always better have something with less polygons for more crowded scenes). Hope that helped. If not, just don't blame me too much... Alberto
Thread: More memory for poser or upgrade CPU? | Forum: Poser Technical
WOW!!! I Didn't even think such machines existed...Is all this people working for NASA, CIA or what?! By the way, it's exactly what I needed to know: now I understand I was really asking too much to my "poor" P4 256RAM - again, it's ridiculous that CL "reccomends" 256RAM for Poser5 - and that I'll have to make an upgrade that will be not exactly cheap... Thanks Mike and to all the other ones who posted a reply. Alberto
Thread: Poser 5 (and 4) memory request | Forum: Poser Technical
OK, I was "out of order" for quite a while and so I had no way to thank everyone who answered my question. I'm doing it now: THANK YOU!!!
Thread: More memory for poser or upgrade CPU? | Forum: Poser Technical
I'm afraid you'll not like my kind of answer since I'd like to know the same thing... All I can say is that a P4 1Ghz with 256 RAM (my PC) is clearly not enough!!! I suppose that a lot more RAM would be good, but it seems like no one out there would answer clearly the question (I tried Curious Labs - at least humourous the reccomended system requirements for Poser5...I'd like to see what they render with that - and many themed forums). I don't know what kind of OS you run, but "someone" say that Win98 isn't able to manage more than 128 Megs of RAM per program, so in that case would be the case to upgrade to Win2000 or XP... but I can't say it's an unanimous opinion. Imagine that doesn't help too much, sorry... I can only hope someone else will clearly answer the question, so we'll know what to do... Alberto
Thread: Thumbnail Question | Forum: Poser Technical
Hi, here's the way I managed that awful problem with Poser.I have a Pro-Pack enhanced version and had a lot of problems with thumbnails.First of all render your character (or what it is)and export it as a bitmap file (the image has to be square, like 300x300 or what you prefere). Than reduce it to 91x91 with your image program (Photomagic,Photoshop, etc.)and copy it. Now open Microsoft Photo Editor (it should come with Windows), that can manage the .png files. In it open one of the Poser .png original files, and paste onto it the one you copied. Save it with the same name of your character file (or what it is)in the same directory where it is, and you'll have your favourite thumbnail. It's shorter than written, and so you can see even the most transparent and matted of your clothes. Pizzone
