Man, that would be great to know. I have no particular favor to B7. If B6 will allow checking up on a long render, that will be the route I go next time. That brings another question:
If a scene in built and saved in B7, can it be opened and rendered in B6?
I know the opposite is true. I'd check it out but that will be at least a week from now. How in the world did you ever discover this easter eggy thingy?

Oh yes, on high priority, bryster. I've known that one since it was an option. I knew it would be long. 8000X7200 at 150 dpi, premium render, some volumetrics and some transparency.
So far so good. I'm about 40hrs into it and it is around 25% and still running. I was most wondering about accessing the file and Clay pretty much settled that question. I'm glad I built the 'puter in a full sized case that has 5 fans plus a good CPU cooler.

Thank you! I am rendering a scene as I type that your model would have been a great addition. I'll use it later. Thank you again.

I pretty much agree with pumeco. By building (or having someone build) a machine you should save some bucks over trying to find a prebuilt machine.
I might add consider a full sized gaming case with lots of cooling fans for those long, long renders.
One thing I did was install dual hard drives running Raid 1 so they are mirroring each other all the time. I still backup my files occasionally but I like the secure feeling that there are always two copies being saved automatically. Any slow down time in read/write to HD is imperceptable.
Yes, purchase as much machine as you can afford because by the time you plug it in there will be something newer and greater out there.
In the other thread pdrawbridge mentioned rendering multiple cores. I only have 4 cores running Win XP 64 bit Pro. When I set Bryce render to priority it will use all 4 cores. I don't know how it behaves with more cores than that.
And lastly that GPU based rendering will be a blessing if you ever get into video editing.

Nukeboy, you will probably get more response by posting a new thread dealing with your request. This is an old thread and may not be monitored by many. Good luck.

Is this an open invitation to post a planet here? I don't want to impose if that is not the intent.

I wish I had seen those waves and angry ocean that slammed the shores of the UK. Awesome and terrifying both. The same weather patterns have made life an adventure in the southeastern US also. It started about mid-January and continues still. Things seem to be on a 7 day cycle peaking each Tuesday or Wednesday. One week we will have record breaking high temps for that time of year the the next it reverses to record breaking lows. I'm speaking of highs in the 70's F and lows in the single digit F range. It rollercoasters weekly.
Day before yesterday it was 77 F here, today there are snow flurries. I have grown accustomed to wearing shorts and a tee shirt with the snow ski clothes hanging by the door.

These are absolutely amazing! I don't know a kid in the world who wouldn't love to hear a story about these characters.

Hi brycetech,
Your tutorials and such have been missed. As several have said, things have slowed here.
I too have slowed up in Bryce pursuits but here are a couple that I've done since you where a regular.

Final product is one 2d plane, two duplicate lattices, one sphere, one light.
