Did you read the readme? There are technical reasons why some of the V4.1 system files have top be in the top directory. Once you have installed her there, you can move the "library" files where ever you like, and she should load fine.

Just a thought (I've not tried this) but would it be possible to grow hair in the hair room either directly onto the figure or onto a cat-suit type costume?
Also, both V3 and M3 have "chimp" face morphs which might be useful!

I have to agree with Silke, though to me its not just his face.
Technically I have to admit AM is very impressive (though I haven't got my head round the "don't conform the clothing" thing), but to me he always looks plump.
I would be impressed if someone could produce a morph for a skinny/angular person from him -David Tennant (the current Dr Who) maybe?
A quick scan of my recent renders shows that I have overwhelmingly been using M3, followed by David (mostly for elves etc). I find M3 quite versatile, and the amount of clothing available for means I have more chance of getting the look I'm after with him rather than any other figure.

Re V4.1/morphing tool crash.
I couldn't find the thread at Daz with the solution, But it is also given in the CP forums. Here it is
The problem appears to be the following :-
Two of the channels in "!DAZVictoria 4head5-ps_pe070_DAZ_Chnnls.pz2" have an "indexes" line with a non-zero value, but no actual morph deltas.
Changing the number after indexes to 0 stop the morph tool from causing a crash.
For those interested the morphs are :-
PHMEyesIrisConvexity
(has "indexes 529" needs "indexes 0")
PHMEyesIrisAlign
(has "indexes 881" needs "indexes 0")
Basically you need to open the code in a text editor (eg Wordpad), use the search function to locate the relevant code and change the numbers to zero.
The bigger question is, with the solution so simple, why haven't Daz corrected it themselves?
I still find many minor irritations with both V4 and V4.1, so I mostly still use V3.
If you have V4, V4.1 is a free upgrade. Since it leaves V4 intact, I can see no reason not to!

Hi Georgio!
My understanding is that you definitely need V4.1 if you want to install the extra morph packs (muscle morphs and creature morphs), and since there are morphs in V4.1 that are not in V4 characters using those morphs obviously won't work.
Skin textures, clothing etc are totally compatible, unless the texture makes use of the V4.1 eyebrow prop.
When you install V4.1 (a more complicated procedure than normal- read the instructions), it does not overwrite V4, so you have the option of using either. The only major issue that was new to V4.1 that I encountered was the head/morphing tool one, and even a non-programmer like me managed to follow the instructions posted in the daz forum to correct that!

Thread: OT: What's this? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It looks to me like a reflection in your camera - not uncommon in astrophotography. Why don't you try an astronomy forum to get more info?
It also looks remarkably like one of the specular nodes in the Poser material room ; )

Hey! you really got me excited then. Unfortunately, there never was a problem with V4, but only with V4.1, - and it's still there, unless I'm doing something stupid.
As I understand it one of the new head morphs in V4.1 has a mistake in it , which causes Poser to crash, so it's Vicki who needs the SR! *

There are still problems with the cloth room in P7. It seems to get confused when you have more than one item of dynamic clothing on the same figure. It works ok the first time, but if you need to recalculate the dynamics, the first item of clothing "sticks" and does not drape over the figure. The only way around it is to delete the simulation completely, and start again.
I have reported this to e-frontiers, who tell me any fix is unlikely to be in SR2 as this is already well on the way.

Thread: The Great Painted Pubic Hair Poll... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Transmaps everytime for me! For both eyebrows and pubes.
V4.1 now allows for transmapped eyebrows (though few textures currently make use of it) but the pubes are still a problem. Then again most of the V3 textures don't use transmaps either, which is more difficult to understand.
The situation seems more complicated with male figures. If there' s lots of other body hair, simply transmapping the eyebrows and pubes seems a little pointless, but its certainly worthwhile for less hairy types.

Thread: vandra skirt need help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Blue - if you can't make the skirt move either by dragging the body handles or by turning the dials then it sounds like your scene has corrupted. Try deconforming the skirt (select "none" from the list) and then reconforming it to the figure. If that doesn't work you may have to start your scene again.
I've just had a play with the Vandra skirt -the handles are called "Lefthandle, Right handle, Backhandle and Loinhandle" If you select any one of those you should get 3 dials - all seem to work for me.
Not sure what you mean by a trim: the Vandra skirt can look a little strange in preview, as you can't see the "inside" of the cloth, only the outer surface. The whole thing shows when you render.

The crosses are called "body handles". If you click on one you will find that you can drag it and use it to pose the skirt. The skirt will not automatically move with the figure's pose; you have to pose it by hand. Do not mess about with parenting the skirt ; just conform it, pose the figure, then use the handles (and any morphs) to pose the skirt. (I'm not quite sure what effect trying to conform AND parent the skirt will have- could be messy!).
You will find that virtually all conforming skirts and dresses use body handles of some form, though the symbols representing them vary. Look for a piece of detached geometry below the clothing. Once selected you can also move them using the dials.
Before P5 introduced dynamic cloth it was the only way to create a skirt.

Thread: Balding hair-piece for M3? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Many thanks for the information and the screenshots. It's a great pity that no one seems to think that older men are commercial. Sean Connery? Patrick Stewart? Baldies can be sexy too! (But probably not the character I'm working on!)

Vince3 - I had a go with around 20,000 hairs, just styling and not using dynamics. Not much to my surprise, when I tried to render (on middling quality settings) on P7, I got "There has been a problem rendering..." message, swiftly followed by the total "vanishing from existence" crash that P7 is becoming famous for! I admit I haven't played with the hair room much, as I find even if it doesn't crash my poor computer it slows it down to such an extent that Poser becomes almost unusable if I have even an approximation of a realistic number of hairs. I suspect even if I could get it to work for a single portrait I would have ongoing problems, as I am going to want to use the character I am working on in multi-character scenes.
randym77 - Yes, I've been looking at this hair. Have you got it? Are the textures any good, or are there any other textures available for it? I've been disappointed by some older Daz hair I've bought, but it looks as though this is the only hair with the appropriate morph.
Finally, I've posted a picture using my baldie character as he is working so far. The hair is Koz's allback with a lot of post work to tidy up the edges, but the final result is about what I had in mind.

Vince3 - love the picture!
Unfortunately my computer won't handle that many hairs (at least, not if I want it to finish all the calculations- both for dynamics and rendering- sometime this year!). Still, I'm upgrading my hardware soon, so then dynamic hair may well be the way to go, for this and other projects.
For the moment , I agree, I am getting pretty good results by moving a hair piece down a bit.
