none of them are trashed.
when the copying idea didnt work I abandonded that idea and just uncluded the p6 runtime as an external in p7 and above.
I've since then (few years ago) wiped my computer back to its origional factory state and reinstalled all versions of poser so none of the files should be screwed up by that initial copying process at this point.
and by "the multiple runtimes problem" I mean that Im assuming im not the only person who has mutliple runtimes and was asking if there'sย a better wayย to do it than what I described above.
I've heard in the past that loading things from an external runtime or an older poser version (things that are not installed in the version you have open) can sometimes cause problems with certain products and this seems to be the issue im having.
just wondering if there is a fix or a better way.

@stimuli , do you get the same problem creating a set of single frame images.ย Maybe try a different codec ?ย
ย
I got it fixed, mark, with some advice from "bagginsbill"
was an openGL issue with a recent graphics card I got. simply changing some of the preview render settings fixed it =)
JosterD, you have been strangely silent apart from your origional post.
Is any of the info posted here helping at all?
Whatever software you are animating in has its own shortcuts to certain animating tasks. Discovering these shortcuts just takes lots and lots of trial and error.
For Poser (the only one I animate in) the real movement magic is in "spline wrangling" (coined a phase! WOOT!) in the spline wave editor pallette. If you arent familiar with it just click the long button at the top of Poser's key frame window that has the wavey line on it. This graph is the key to making poser figures move well.
P.S. Isaoshi, thank you for the kind words =)

Im sorry but I cannot find this "TeraiYuki2V3.obj" as described in your readme to be used as the decoding key =(
ran a search and no .obj by that name is anywhere on my comp =(
does this mean the TeraiYuki 2.rsr?

Quote - What they have in common is OpenGL. You're using the preview renderer, and probably using hardware accelerated preview. As the features and abilities of OpenGL are increasing with each release, so too does Poser's reliance on those features. It's not unusual that P6 isn't revealing a problem while P7 and PPro 2010 are.
quote]AHAH!!!
That was it!last month my Geforce card died and I replaced it with a Radeon card (with catalyst drivers of course) . The new card with different drivers must have been causing the issues using openGL.
I just went into the preview render options and adjusted some things and the memory usage during preview movie compiling went back to its normal "flatline".
Thank you very much!
yay! I can get back to work now!!

couple questions about this figure:
any V3 unimesh textures should work on this figure then right? So like the A3 Kirei textures for instance?
since the base mesh is still the same then all of TY2's current morph packs would still work for this figure, right? (such as NGM and Ultimate body morphs)
all of TY2's current clothing and hairย props and figuresย will still work with this figure correct?

if yer asking me, TG Im not rendering at all....its a preview movie.......just using the preview setting. When I am rendering I have never used the "render in seperate process" option.
The memory usage should not go up at all with this setting. Even if there are no Key frames , no movement, nothing but a figure in the scene the memory just shoots up inย the space of a few seconds till I reach my memory limit and Poser crashes.
since it suddenly started doing this in P7 and P pro at the same time it has to be something that those two versions have in common.

I've done some more tests and it seems to only do this when a complex figure is in the scene (ie. V4, Aiko, Ty2, millenium dragon etc.).
if its just a prop or primitive in the scene then there is no memory usage increase.

My friend has Poser7 and uses it solely to create japanese schoolgirl outfits and ensembles from presets or packages. I dont want to know what he does with them, or why he makes them. But that to me, is a HUGE waste of money as well as the softwares time.
why would it be a waste of time or money? If he has fun using it then its definately worth it.

Im not so concerned with Pro as I am with the fact that it started happening in both Pro and P7 at the same time but not in P6. Its very strange.
I use P7 more than Pro anyway.

Ah I clicked the link in your sig, dphoadley.
So is this product something that would change the TY2 in my runtime or is it like a seperate figure?
And since it can use V3 maps does that mean it can use Aiko 3 maps too? that would be awesome!

You do get faster as you gain experiance, theres a bit less trial and error , and you may have built up a library of stock moves to use .

13 seconds is 390 frames so a few hours sounds ok.ย
that depends on your frame rate. 15 fps isnt bad if you dont have much quick movement in your scene.

Learn to use the preview render option to test it rather than render ot out .
good point. preview movies are very important........which is why Im boned right now =(

ah yes.
2010
its just so much like P8 I started calling it that. sorry.
can you help? Im tearing my hair out here

something else I just noticed....
If I cancel the movie making process before Poser crashes, my memory usage stays at the inflated level it had risen to at the moment I hit the cancel button.
Same thing if Poser is able to finish the preview movie before it crashes, the hugely elevated memory usage remains at that level until I close Poser.
this is weird.
help! =(

I'm sorry I have a dumb question.
What exactly is going on in this thread with TY2?
I'm a huge TY2 fan and if this thread has something to do with more stuff being available for her I would love a link or two.
I think Im just too sleepy to comprehend what you're actually talking about in this thread at the moment =(
