Thank you very much, Penguinisto - that's the kind of information I was looking for. - taerin

Thread: what do you do... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I usually have either music or tv on in the background.
When I have the tv on, it's either Cartoon Network, History Channel or Food Network.
When it's music, it's whatever fits the mood of the piece I'm working on. That could be anything from celtic to pop to techno to classical christmas music. :-)
Thread: Pose folder management advice? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ah, I see. That makes sense. You retain the individual folders which help you know what's what, but you only actually see them in the main list when you specifically put them there. That's a good workaround, thank you. :-) - taerin

Thanks guys - I'd never heard of that app before. But until then - NPeters - are you creating your main folder modules outside of the Pose folder? TIA, - taerin

Oh dear, I think I understand. That's really too bad. I'd've loved to put Mikki or Tisa's face on Vicky... Thanks Jaager!

Thread: Duplicated terrain changing original? | Forum: Bryce
Dan - how would flattening the terrain make any difference? The reason I'm duplicating it is to retain the dimensions and location; I'm just changing the heightmap. Ray - I checked Brycetech, but no luck. I didn't find any downloads there at all, just tutorials, galleries and links. :-( I checked, and both terrains have a parent of none. And yeah, I've been creating one, sticking it in the user library, then creating the other. That way I can bring them both into a single scene. It's a pain though, and I wish I could figure out what's going on. Example of what I'm doing - I've got a heightmap of a window with fiddly stuff inside and an arched top. To make a piece of glass to fill the empty spots, I'm duplicating the original and using an almost-identical heightmap which has a solidly filled arch. (Can't use a default primitive without booleaning it to the right shape, sadly.) I want these two terrains in the same place and with about the same dimensions. However, when I duplicate the first 'frame' terrain and rename it 'glass', then enter the editor and load a new heightmap, both the 'frame' and 'glass' terrains change to the new one. The only terrain I want to change is 'glass'. Make sense? Thanks, - taerin

I'm running a fresh install of Bryce 3D straight off the cd. And I just realized I don't have a copy of the updater to 3.1, nor can I get it from Corel's site or the old Metacreations site. If this is a known issue with 3 that was fixed in the updater, does anyone know a location I could grab it from? Thanks, - taerin

Ok, thanks. FYI - I emailed Curious Labs to ask if they had upgrade pricing for those who own B3. They said they did not at this time. :-( - taerin
Thread: faq? p4 into bryce 3 texture question | Forum: Bryce
Thanks FastTraxx, but the tutorial only describes the sequence of steps I'm already going through. Is there no way to get a figure into B3 and have it retain its texturing? As in: when the figure is imported, the textures are already applied, I don't have to reassign them? Is this possible in Bryce 4? What I was hoping for at the moment is a better way to export from Poser. As it stands, I'm also having to recreate some bump maps, because when I downloaded them, they were already in .bum format. thanks again, - taerin
