i expierienced similar probs with 2.05 beta (if i understood right) but i couldn't really figure out how to solve. if i remember right, it appeared, when the image adjustment window was open while editing transforms. i think it's a bug - not a feature ;-)

once again a sample of high quality fractal artwork. thanks for the honor to be a part of it!

i agree, again a wonderful compilation of fractal artwork. thanks a lot for letting me be part of this masterful round!

Thread: Flam3 render results are not "ACD See-viewable" - !? | Forum: Fractals
i've got the same problem with corel photo-paint. i discovered, that this problem relates with the transparency information embedded in every png created with flam3. the freeware programs xnview perso.orange.fr/pierre.g/xnview/enhome.html and irfan view www.irfanview.net/ can write back png's without transparency, irfanview even in batch-mode.
at least in corel this solution works. with a little luck this should work with acdsee as well.

Thread: converting upr back to flame | Forum: Fractals
Quote - Hi "T" :-) I think I remember a long time ago taking the parameters/values, weights and variation type for each of the triangles - these can be found by scrolling down in the ucl window in UF - and entering all of them into an open flame in Apophysis 1 and I was able to recreate the flame that had been part of a upr sent to the UF Mailing List.
It was pretty tedious work but it did work out ...
This is nearly exactly what I did (copy and paste the values). It worked in about 10 minutes for a three-transform-flame. But what to do with six eight or more transforms?
even so, thanx for your sympathies, Rick!
For those who care, here is the (unlogic) correlation of triangle-coordinates in UF (205.ucl) and apo 2.05 beta2
Apo UF
X1 a
X2 -c
Y1 -b
Y2 d
O1 e
O2 -f
the variation data is equal in both programs and the palette can be saved in UF and loaded in apo.

Thread: Ultra Fractal Tips (1): How to make... | Forum: Fractals
Nice discussion... I think for both procedures you need a little expierience to control the results. If you combine the simple frames of sdc.ucl with other layers you can get much more than smooth surfaced framees. although i use them mostly to let the image overflow the frame smoothly. It needs a bit trial and error work to figure out how to get "rugged" results... if you want this. carpe diem

I tried this and it is useful for square images with magnification 1. Everything else - and this might be a lot - should be easier to do with the "Frames"-coloring of the sdc.ucl. It has no structure by default, but with some practice in layering and coloring you'll get very nice results - at any magnification.

i had a short look on morray and i only found the raw- and udo format to import. causen i need a quaternion fractal as a 3d mesh, this program isn't appropriable to me (morray can't generate them). but my question is obsolete anyway. i now use fractalzplot to create quaternions. it can generate 3d fractals in any quality and exports them in various formats. (this hint came from the rhino forum. thanks to robbo_145!)
