Thread: Poser animation help....sword fight | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks..I'll take a search through for some of them.
As an additional question, is there any motion capture type software where you can take footage of a person making a movement, and apply it to the daz figures? I was thinking that might be another option...though I doubt anything to do with motion capture is in my price range. Figured I'd throw it out there anyway :)

I had a very similar problem when I updated my gforce graphics drivers. Basically everytime I would try and load a item, or on the odd chance it did load, try to conform it or move it, the program would crash.
I have now reverted back to the previous set and everything is fine. I'll wait for the next set to see if it works any better. gotta have my poser workin :)

Thread: OT Sci Fi Obituary | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have recently found myself filling my sci-fi fix through television and not movies. The problem I have with sci-fi movies lately is that there is just not enough time to go in depth on a complicated storyline, with real character drama. Where Movies fail is where TV can move forward. Telling a story over a season of episodes instead of over 2 hours of movie time, allows the view to establish more of a relationship with the characters than a movie will allow.
Much more like books to be honest. And with the quality of shows like Heroes (which I would consider sci-fi) and the new Battlestar Galactica, it is almost like a mini movie every week. Focus more on the characters than the effects, focus more on the story than the fight, focus more on the way characters evolve over time rather than cut and dry 1 person from begining to end....
I don't rememeber the exact quote or who said it, but a director commented recently that the future of epic science fiction entertainment was in serial episode format, and not in movies and thier sequels. I tend to believe that just in the way tv has now been allowed to push boundries on the stories they can tell in that genre.
And because of the success of those shows, it says that viewers themselves have evolved enough to want more out of sci fi than just space battles and cool gadgets.
just my thoughts.

Thread: Poser and Vista | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I really like Vista..and had very few problems running Poser on it....until I started doing animations. For some reason no matter what I did I would always get a "out of memory" error when trying to render animations...even when I dropped almost all the settings. I mean I have a 3g RAM dual core system with 500G hard drive...gforce 8800
meanwhile on my old XP system which only has a 1.3Ghz processor, 1g RAM and 250g hard drive and a radeon x700...it could render my animations just fine.
So unfortunatly I have reverted back to XP for now. I'll wait until Vista releases a Service Pack then try again.

Quote - Just so you know, you don't have to Add one frame at a time in an app to create the animation. You can select all the frames at one time. You might want to look into the site I gave you and do some reading on the topic. It might help you in the future.
Just as a follow up to this....yes I can select all the frames at one time, but when I add them to my editing program (sony Vegas) each frame registers as 10 frames, so each image is 10 frames...this of course makes the entire animation slow beyond belief. I read through that site but couldn't find help on this.
Is there a command or tool option I am not aware of? If I can sort this out it is going to solve so many headaches right now :)
Thread: Poser animation - animation issues under Windows Vista | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just as a follow up...I have been able to render animations without this problem as long as I don't render with the audio and add it in afterwords...
But now I have a issue when rendering some scenes, not all, where I get a "the poser executible file has stopped working" error and I lose the entire thing. Sometimes it happens 10 frames into the animation, sometimes it happens 100 frames in.
I have tried re-installing and I am running SR2. I have tried increasing virtual memory, I have even tried rendering half the frames then going back to render the second half at a later time, this still happens.
Any ideas? :) thanks in advance.

I just tried something and I think I have narrowed down the problem in Poser. I rendered the same animation with sound and had the problem. when I cleared the sound and re did the animation it looked perfect...
So....it has to do with the audio in the video. I can get around it by clearing the sound then adding the sound file back to the video, but is there perhaps something I can do to render both sound and video without this happening?
I am rendering it full frame uncompressed.
And thank you to the replies so far!
