Here is the settings I used. I hope the screen capture is okay to see.
With your permission I would like to overlay the caustic surface over your image and modify the perspective.

This looks like a useful program for this type of image. I would like to modify your suggestion Rosemaryr, in the new layer that has the caustic surface, I would recommend using the Perspective option from the Transform tool and slant the image a little to give a sense of depth. You would have to expand beyond the outer edges of the image area to do this but I think it would be effective.
Sorry if I am not making myself clear. It is easier to show than to say.

Hello, I think one thing that makes underwater scenes look beliveable is the way light is defracted because of the movement of the water.
Susie, can I ask how deep is the water? Can the surface be seen? Is it shallow enough to have the light of the sun shown off of the bottom sand?
Maybe you can review some of the images done in Bryce or Vue in their galleries and see if there are some good examples.
I'm sure it can be done in Photoshop but I think you would appreciate the effects done with these 3D programs.

For the etching effect, you can look into a plugin by Flaming Pear called India Ink.
They have a demo you can download to see if it will work for you... If it does the job, it is only $15(US)

I have heard retrocity, who is the moderator in this forum state, "The difference between an Expert and a Beginner is 6 months". I think that type of mentality is very helpful when someone is concerned with posting a message they might feel is to simple or stupid.
I have found a lot of help here.

bonestructure, I think it will work in either direction as from what I see in retrocity's image. The control is fade from Foreground to Background and that is irregardless of direction.

I would like to add a suggestion. Make a layer that will serve as an indicator of your light source. Make a series of lines in perspective that would be the direction of the light rays. I would use some bright neon color and use this to guide you in determining where to place your highlights and shadows.
I hope this makes sense,

I do not have a logo but I do make my own brushes. I would suggest making your logo into a brush and then you can sign your artwork with one simple stroke.

I bought it because of school and price difference for students but I would have paid full price for the revised brush engine that retrocity mentioned. The ability to make custom brushes is fantastic. I think I will enjoy working in Photoshop for many years to come.

I know if I have my speakers or telephone near my monitor it effects the color. This is because of magnetic interferance. Make sure you do not have anything around your monitor.

Good afternoon Damien,
If you would like to make brushes start with a white background and make some marks, or scratches or even type in some text. You should adjust the contrast higher so it is blacker but this is not critical.
When you are done, select the image or the part you wish to make into a brush, from the brushes' palette choose 'define brush'
You are all set. You now have your first custom brush.
