I actually use VIM more often than not - it'll load huge files without choking and once you get the hang of it it's damn fast

Vue 6 Pro Studio is quite happy with multiple runtimes - I have about 7 of 'em. I just need a lot more RAM so I can actually import some things without causing Vue to freak out

HDRI seems to work ok on my SR1 - the lights need tweaking normally 'cos they are far too bright (depending on the map you use)

I don't really use SSS in Poser because it looks a bit wierd (to me anyway)

just another data point on the huge graph of life :)

Anyone remember the complete clusterfsck that was Microsoft Bob ? lasted about 3 months before it got binned - now that was a POS operating system.

By the way - the security update for XP broke my computer, fortunately not fatally and uninstalling it cleared the mess so beware

I have a problem importing poser 7 .pz3 files into the demo for Vue 5 Esprit. It tells me it can't read the .pz3 which is slightly annoying. I dunno if it's because it's the demo version (I ended up springing for Vue 6 Pro Studio in the end - just waiting for the download link) or maybe it's the fact that all my poser runtimes are external.

I really hope it's not the latter - moving my runtimes about is going to be a tremendous pain in the butt

From what I have managed to figure out so far, the export has broken the pathnames to every single texture in the file by removing some or all of the backslashes - and not the same ones each time either

sigh

I find the results are far too bright - that might be down to the .hdr images I'm using though. They seem to work ok with other lights but it takes a lot of fiddling with the parameter dials to get it looking good

it's not that they can't be used in the cloth room. 98% of my simulations run without a single problem. In the last 25 or so simulations I've run, I had one "Geometry explosion" so it's not that bad
