For lots of web space and download traffic, plus remote linking, you'll probably need to pay for space. I use Communitech, and for $30 per month, I get 350Mb of space with about 8Gb of traffic per month.

I fully agree with Storm. (In fact, I was going to post this same idea, but was beaten to it.) I just bought Vue d'Esprit from the 3D Cafe site. I've used a lot of their tutorials, and though it would only be fair to make the purchase through them instead of from Vue directly. Make some stuff available from here and I will buy them from this site.
Thread: Renderosity Online Store - GRAND OPENING! | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Jack and Company are charged for the following: 1) Bandwidth. 2) Hard drive Storage. 3) A flat fee for each transaction. 4) A percentage of each transaction. 5) Each and every chargeback - not just the amount of the transaction, but an additional $10 - $25 above the transaction. I've had to deal with credit card processing places before. They suck. I wish they merely nickel and dimed you to death. In traditional mediums, the artist has to pay for the paint, canvas, and frame for each piece. For digital media, once the artist pays for the software, they're done. How many people here have bought software just for making money on models? Very few. Most people here are hobbyists that already have the software or use the software professionally for other projects. Jack and Company are the ones taking all the financial risks while the artists are free to go and have their stuff sold at multiple sites. Once this really gets going, they may be able to raise the commissions.

Very nicely done. I'd thought of doing something similar for Trav's challenge. Did you post it in the gallery as well?

I was impressed both by the licensing agreement and by the assurances about the security of the credit card information and purchaser identity. You guys really thought things through. As for the commercialism of this site, I know that those people who are selling items were going to do so anyway. They might as well do it here. Not everyone is going to start selling their stuff, and some that do sell will continue to give some stuff away as well. Example: Traveller has some items such as clothing for sale but still provides morphs and such for free.

I was ecstatic to see Ayesha posted. I assumed that she was Egyptian in nature, so the skin tone seemed just right to me. When I get better at textures, I want to create various skin tones. I am a bit sick of seeing just us Whitebreads in the Free Stuff and Galleries. If you go to some of the body builder sites and the porn sites, you will see a lot of pictures that you can use to stitch a person together. (Just have a strong stomache for some of the porn sites. I'm pretty jaded, was all alone in the house, and still was furiously swatting the back button to get rid of some of what I saw.) ;-)

Thank you! I thought it was just my system! When I first installed Poser, it worked okay, but now the leotard and a few other pieces of clothing are bent. Please, when you hear of an answer, let us know. Thanks!

The "usual" anime (what the semi-average person on the street would consider usual) is Martial Arts fighting or heroic poses. I didn't realize that you were an anime fan as well, so I figured the no M.A. would make it clear. Otherwise, let's see what you consider unanime. Remember, interpretation is part of the fun. I didn't realize that someone had challenged you. I looked through the forum, but I must have missed Locke's post. If it's a problem, let me know and I'll be mean to someone else. And since this is Renderosity, not Renderotica, the 1,000 attacking male genitalia might not be appropriate. ;-)

Dol.. Cliquez ici !

a) Should we name the characters or have people guess them? b) Is drawing okay or does it have to be CG art?

Thread: My challenge for Crescent! | Forum: Challenge Arena
No fair! I was going to challenge you, but Rendie went down. Then it came up and I answered the challenge, but Rendie ate my response. This does not bode well. I'll get you for this, and your little dog Toto, too! ;-)

Name : Crescent Poser 4: Intermediate for all but lighting. Lighting-beginner Bryce 4: Intermediate Corel Photo: Beginner-Intermediate No plug-ins. 3ds Max: Beginner (Does it every get any easier?) Rhino: Beginner I'm best at cross-platform stuff. I may not figure out the right way to do things, but I can often kludge together something, taking about 3 times as long to do it and astounding everyone at how I can take something so easy and make it so complicated. ;-)

Cool idea. The anonimity part would be interesting. BTW, where've you been? Seems like it's been a bit quieter of late. ;-)
