I think it needs thin, sleek wings (doesn't sweep out very far so there's a steep angle.) It looks a bit too blocky as is. It's a great model. One cheat that may work to get a texture: Position the camera so it is directly above the ship and shine a really bright light on it. Make the ground and sky black. Render and Prt Scr the image (assuming you're on a PC. Haven't a clue for Macs.) Take the image into a photo editing program and Paste it as a new image. Save it as 1024 x 1024. Make a new terrain in Bryce and load the picture as the terrain. Export the terrain as an .obj. Now UV map it. You may be able to use this map for texturing the original model, or the newly created terrain may be good enough to use with the map. (I can't take any credit for this idea. It's on someone's site for making a bug.) Hope this works!

Congratulations! I love the pictures for the different pages, though they are a bit slow to load, even with a cable modem.

For students/faculty/staff, the program is just $200! It's the only benefit I get at my job - literally!

If it isn't too big, I can lend the space. Send me the file and I'll send you the address so you can upload it to the Free Stuff area and get credit for it.
Thread: Trashed for being nude :( | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As for clothing making a difference in a fight, it does. Cloth can help if the person falls down or is forced against a wall. I'd rather rip my pants then rip my skin. In this case, Gwen is thinly built, but trust me, larger chests really need support. (For all the guys out there, try running around without a jock strap for a while!) Has anyone seen the movie Innocent Blood - tolerable vampire flick? The first scene has the female vampire totally nude. The way she moved and reacted was great. For her, it was completely natural. The actress didn't randomly throw her arms up into the air to show off her breasts. She didn't find excuses to bend over or make sexy, pouting faces. The camera "reacted" to her the same as it would have to a fully clothed person - no strange angles to focus on her breasts or crotch. Not only did I not have a problem with the scene, I thought it was great. It established the character in a thoughtful, mature way. I don't object to nudity, but it should make sense. If nothing else, doesn't Gwen get tired of carrying her sword everywhere (no scabard), and don't her feet hurt by now?

Sorry, but from the angle of the character, it does look like you're emphasizing the nudity aspect. To me, a picture of just her face and shoulders would have looked better. It would have emphasized her hair, face, and expression. I had initially skipped over the picture because it seemed to be a "Oh, look, I can post a naked woman" picture. Yes, the textures are well done, but especially with the multiple naked posts with no context and little to no background, I do agree with comment. Sure, many cultures don't have a nudity taboo, but your pictures do not reflect this. I looked up your pictures, and every picture shows Gwen obviously posing nude, not reacting while coincidentally nude, and in many pictures there is a very obvious expression of sexual interest. I'm not knocking your art, but I think that the criticism is valid. The person was not rude in their comment, and numbers are very subjective. And Allie - death to chainmail bikinis!

I don't think it's that hard to give constructive criticism. State what you like, what you don't like, and how to fix what you think is wrong. There's a difference between helpful comments, and rude, negative ones. With the Xena example above, try something like: "The bikini looks like plastic. A fabric or leather textured bikini would make more sense." I always plead for constructive criticisms for my work. Things like, "It sucks" doesn't help much, though.

It worked! I was just trying to use a small file and apparently can't type any more. (Time to dig out the Mavis Bacon disks!) I tried about 10 times before this worked. Thanks so much! Sorry for the inconvenience!

Okay, if we're looking at breaking down roles, what roles do we think are needed? My suggestions: Web Space Provider - self explanatory. Web Page Creator - Takes pictures and creates pages for the comic. May be the one who decides relative sizes for multiple pictures on one page. Writer - dialog, plot. Editor - checks spelling, continuity (names, locations, etc.) Director - breaks down story into sections (either pictures of pages.) Costume/Props Master - Keeps track of costumes, sets and props for later use. Helps track down new props. (Also makes sure that we aren't accidentally using commercial props improperly.) We might want to have a list of people who can make/modify props/costumes, etc. so we know who to beg for items. Artists - Oh, yeah, almost forgot them. ;-} We could have a web page with a list of story sections and props/costumes needed and let people sign up to do that section. If we want to get professional, we could even post deadlines. Again, this is a suggestion. I don't know how how structured we want to get with this project.

I know what you mean. I can't figure out how to post an image in a reply. If you want to see the alpha version, go to www.fallencity.net/treasures/skullcap.jpg Hopefully I'll have time in a few days to get it to work better. What kind of hair are you using? That will help shape the skullcap.

I posted about 10 seconds after you did. ;-) I'm not too fond of spandex unless a definite comic book style is desired. My first impression was a dark fanstasy story. The steam trains, et. al. could make for an interesting, semi-Victorian look. Atlanta by Fusion Gaslight, if you will.

I'm posting them on the site as you write ... Warning, I'm also a writer and I sweat the small stuff.

I can help on writing, a bit on modeling, definitely on HTML and even ... gasp ... web space. It's really weird. I went to sign up and they had me on file! I had to get them to send me a new password.
