Thread: Vicki's shoes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes, thanks. These shoes were in the characters section.... So they are not props, right?
Thread: Photoshop 6 error under Win2k | Forum: Photoshop
I'm curious. Did you do a search and see if there is more than one instance of msvcrt10.dll?! You may have more than one, and they might be causing problems. WE obviously have a few people who also use the same version of PhotoShop and Windows 2000. It might be a good idea to see what details separate you from the others. For instance, you can compare hardware configuration. Sometimes you find that a particular video card is related to problems, etc. And even compare things that may not seem related, such as what version of MS Internet Explorer do you use? Just to clarify here: You installed Windows 2000 on a blank, formtted hard drive, rather than upgrading over what was already there? Do you use NTFS for your file system, or something else? All these questions might help lead to a solution. ]

Ghastley is most excellent... I have his site bookmarked. I love his stuff for the P4 characters, and the Vicki and Mike stuff is just all the more great stuff.
Thread: Micheal 2 preview | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am not so caught up with Mike 2... I mean, geesh, I just got Mike, and money is tight. (Doesn't everyone have this concern?!) As for Drax's Muscle Mike, what can I say? I've seen some previews, and I have seen Drax's other work. Drax is an outstanding artist, and I believe his product would be equally outstanding. So yes, Muscle Mike is on my list of things which will unfortunately need to wait till better economic times. And whenever I can afford a computer purchase, Windows XP will be first on that list. I love the newest techie stuff, and new operating systems are tops on the list. Besides, I've worked as a tech, and need to stay up to date. Oh, and I ran the Release Candidates of XP and loved it.

I have seen the site... I just don't bother to remember "acronyms," preferring to know the actual name. Yes, you seem to have some great stuff.. I had a bit of trouble telling that from the samples you posted...Something about the style of the job. At any rate, I've asked some people whose opinions I value highly. The overwhelming feedback is that your site/service is very much worth the subscription price. Having said that, it will be awhile before I can take advantage of your fine site. I'm in between jobs, and we're not spending much money now. And when things look better, Windows XP will be the first new software in my house. I need to keep up with the latest operating system...Since I have worked tech support in the past. Your subscription service is most definately on my list.

I got confused by the sale on Vicki 2 maps, and thought I was buying Vicki herself...This was before I had started talking to folks here, or at the 3DCC. The wording on the product was the same as the way they are selling Michael 2's textures. I figured out my mistake eventually, and lost Vicki's textures that I bought. Now I have Vicki, and can't find what I bought several months ago. Oh well, we learn.

I took Computer Art & Animation in 1990. We used programs that most of us will not buy ourselves in our own lifetime (Ever hear of Tips, Topaz and Rio?!) One of those packages cost $20,000 at the time, and it was the one we used the most. At any rate we had graphics tablets then, with "pucks". (That's what I call the cursor which is like a mouse. We got to try the pens for a time. I didn't like it because I had to keep picking it up and putting it down. Too much hassle for me. I stuck with the "puck." That's why I have the 4-button cursor with my SummaGraphics tablet.

Yes, well did you know that Michael 1 is no longer on sale. DAZ now has a sale on Michael 2 textures, even before Michael 2 shows up on their site. Oh, well Michael 1 will work just fine.
Thread: Micheal 2 preview | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Let's follow some simple logic: 1.) Usually whenever a company has a big sale on an item, that means a newer version is on its way. 2.) Mike 1 has been on sale. 3.) Michael 2 texture maps are being advertised (before Michael 2 himself is advertised.) 4.) Yes Michael 2 is on the way... He just hasn't made it to the front page yet. This is no surprised. It happened recently with Ulead PhotoImpact 6. I went to their site and saw it was on sale for about 40% off.. A week or so later I saw they had Ulead PhotoImpact 7 on sale. No surprises here.
Thread: What Happens When Items made in Propack are opened in poser w/o propack, | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sometimes I get characters, props, etc that were obviously made with the Pro Pack. Poser usually complains that this is a newer version than expected, and will try to open it anyway. I think the majority of these files come out just fine. Yes you need to get that rsr created by adding the resource back to your library....etc.

My optical trackball is setup so I move the ball with my thumb and use my fingers for the mouse buttons. Just rest your hand on top of it, and you don't need to move your hand at all. This thing has amazing accuracy, and works with anything I've used so far. The other thing I like is the wheel which allows me to easily move up and down any screen.... I don't have that on my SummaGraphics Graphics tablet. CD burners are great for storing files....But there is still no substitute for a larger hard drive. You need to have room to install your programs, to add all those files to Poser, and to save your renders. Then you can copy them to CD. It can get tricky bringing stuff from CD to Poser. You need to remember to uncheck the read only on many files, etc. I'm all for getting as much memory and hard drive space as possible. That's why I have a 20GB and 30GB. I also use the CD burner for storage. I've downloaded about every freebie file from Renderosity, and they're all saved to CD's. I will figure them out later. You may as well grab all the freebies ASAP, since some are taken down, retired, etc. It doesn't matter when or where you buy computer stuff. You look tomorrow and someone will sell more for less. I noticed with 320MB of RAM, my renders go really quickly if I use the default settings. I can boost things up a bit, and I may have to wait a few minutes for a render to complete...Not terribly bad. Oh, Valandar, my onboard AGP video chip uses 1MB of system RAM. You can see it listed when you right-click on my computer, and choose properties. The amount of reported RAM is always 1MB less than what is really there.
