Look for clothing sets that have the same morphs you have for your figures.
If you want skin-tight clothing, you might try drawing the clothing on the skin texture map. A lot of people do that for stockings.
The ultra-morph woman figure has built-in clothing morphs. You're somewhat limited in variety, but on the other hand, you have a guaranteed fit.
Thread: Backing up Poser files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I wouldn't waste money on re-writable CDs to back up work. The last time I bought CDs, the re-writables were $20 each, and the regular ones were $1 each. Unless you're going to change the CD at least 20 times, the re-writables aren't worth the expense.
Thread: OT : Copyright Questions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The act of copying causes the copyright infringement, not the collection of money. Neither does the fair use exception depend necessarily on the collection of money- fair use generally allows a small portion of a copyrighted work to be copied when necessary for comment or critique. Distributing copies of others' work for free without permission still makes the distributor criminally liable for jail time and/or fines.
Profit made from a copyright infringement would go to the measure of damages against the copyright holder.
As a practical matter, copyright holders usually only go to the expense of suing to protect a copyright if the copyright is interfering with the money made from the copyrighted work.
I wouldn't rely upon "I thought they didn't mind" as a defense. If they copyright holder wouldn't mind, there's nothing wrong with writing a letter to ask for express permission to use the copyrighted work.

I'm guessing that the $99.00 was not for the full Poser 4 program, but for the upgrade from Poser 3 to Poser 4
Thread: how can i change the path of the libraries? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you're like me, you download a huge amount of resources, even though you have no current plans to use them. When I download something, I don't immediately put it into a library, and when I hit 600 MB in my download folder (and I'm pretty close right now), I'm going to burn a CD with the downloads. That way, if I need a particular item for a project on which I am working, I can unzip it from the CD.
I'm not sure you would want to access your library from CD anyway. Unless the technology has gotten a lot better since I bought my last CD drive, CDs are slower than hard drives.
Thread: The sincerest form of flattery | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I e-mailed the admin who removed it, and he e-mailed the reason back. I had clicked the nudity button, and that was not the issue. I reposted relevant e-mail correspondence at my online diary, linked in the original post on this topic.

There is a rose in the free stuff on this site. I downloaded it. I would tell you the file name if I were at my home computer.

Renee Cox's "Yo Mama's Last Supper" is non-traditional photography, and Dick Detzner's "Last Pancake Breakfast" is certainly a satire. Andy Warhol's most memorable work was non-traditional at the time he created it, and now he is considered the founder of the pop art movement. Rap was not called non-traditional music when it emerged in the 70s- critics said it wasn't even music. Come to think of it, van Gogh and Renoir never touched a computer. Computer-generated art is non-traditional.
I by no means compare myself to any of the afore-named artists. But I certainly hope that it would not be the policy of this site to remove that which is non-traditional. Breaking tradition leads to evolution.
However, I can grant, for the sake of argument, that my work was non-traditional, and the other work to which I compared it was traditional. The upload guidelines do not use the word "traditional" at all.
My work did not violate the guidelines literally. It might violate a broad interpretation of those guidelines. But interpreted broadly, the guidelines would exclude a lot of works that remain. And even literally, it would exclude some of the works that remain.
My point was that my work was judged by different rules than others' work. I think the reason that my work was judged differently is because it made an uncomfortable statement, and I think that's a shame.
The owners of this site have no particular duty to host anyone's artwork. They could be completely arbitrary if they so chose. But if they are going to write guidelines, I think fairness dictates that the guidelines be applied uniformly. If those guidelines produce bad results, then the guidelines should be re-written.
While it's perhaps only interesting to me, I think quite a few of the works I sited would fail the legal definition of obscenity in Miller v. California, while mine would pass. (Though it doesn't make me feel any safer from my government, actually.)
If the artwork must be traditional, then the guidelines should so state. And good luck defining traditional. I bet that's harder than defining obscenity.
I wouldn't have attempted the upload if I thought it violated the rules. And I'm not putting it on Renderotica, if/when that site returns. My picture wouldn't fit the theme- it's not erotic. It's the opposite of erotic.
In any event, the issue deserves discussion, not argument. It's not like the Taliban destroying the Bayiman Valley Buddhas. And I'm surprised at the implication that flame wars happen here- most of what I have read gives me the impression that the people who post here are serious-minded. I've only been reading a couple of weeks, though. However, civil discussion leads to understanding and/or truth, and I'm interested in both.

Won't that distort the hand too? I want the hand to stay at the end of the forearm, but I don't want it to be deformed.

And see, I read this because the subject implied not that Catharina Przezak created the texture, but the texture was created to represent her . . .

By the way, what is the procedure for reporting suspected warez? I don't want to contact Curious Labs about this one if twenty others have already.
Thread: "You are out of memory" warning | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I posted this elsewhere- I used to get those messages, but don't anymore. I think in my case they were due to lack of memory. I stopped opening Internet Explorer while working on Poser projects (IE is a memory hog and releases nothing from memory), and I increased the virtual memory setting. I don't know which change had the best effect, I did both at the same time.
Thread: Out of Memory?! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I posted about memory problems in the Poser Technical, and got no replies. On my own, I think I have discovered two things. One is that if you are using Internet Explorer at the same time as Poser, IE will gobble up your memory because it doesn't clean itself out. I also increased the virtual memory setting to 384 MB (I have 128 MB RAM). I haven't been having memory problems of late (don't know what contribution the virtual memory made). However, my renders take forever, and I hear that hard drive working hard on the renders. I would also guess based on my limited knowledge that upgrading your RAM should be a big help, and it wouldn't force you to buy a new system. Upgrading the chip should speed up processing time with renders, but it isn't going to give you any extra memory.
