Quote - What I'm reading from the error:
The script uses Tkinter, which is an older GUI for Python.
"your Python may not be configured for Tk"
Tkinter, from what I understand, is broken on the Mac platform.
From Poser 8 up, any GUI-driven scripts should be using wxPython (or native Poser dialogs for simple things).

Thanks for the replies all. I'm not sure why they worked in 8 but not 2012. I'll try downloading the latest and reinstalling.

Quote - As long as they are .py format they should work with PP2012. Older .pyc (or compiiled) format would need to be compiled by the vendors.
This is the link for the most updated script:
http://d3d.sesseler.de/index.php?software=poserpython&product=12_pythons
I thought that might be the case but I don't understand Python at this point. Here is the error message I get:
Traceback (most recent call last):
 File "/Applications/Poser Pro 2012/RuNtImE/Python/poserScripts/ScriptsMenu/D3D/Delete.py", line 9, in

import _tkinter # If this fails your Python may not be configured for Tk
ImportError: dlopen(/Applications/Poser Pro 2012/Poser Pro 2012.app/Contents/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/lib-dynload/_tkinter.so, 2): no suitable image found. Did find:

Does this mean anything to anybody? Maybe I should just download again and reinstall.

Quote - For fully dynamic clothing, however, you will need a "helper" prop that parents to Mike's hip in front. ahem In the usual place. StudioArtVartanian had one in Rendo Freestuff. I made my own for the same use, as I wanted a slightly different shape at one point. I also use it to model over when making conformers.
I've not gotten into dynamic clothing as yet (other than the ones on my back, lol). The morph brush is amazingly easy to do what I wanted. Hadn't been using it before. So much to learn, and so satisfying when it works for you!

Thanks Cedarwolf, more freebies on that site than you can shake a stick at. I found it right before I gave up and in the meantime realized how easy it is to use the morph brush for the task.

I thought that might be the case. I'll give that a shot

Thread: What makes a Poser render look realistic? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Nice image Ajaxx. I'm glad you brought color theory into the mix. I did an informal survey of my favorite Poser renders and saw that the artists all used a strong dominant color. Usually there would be a complementary color as secondary and it would tend to highlight the most important element in the scene. Your image might be improved by adding some shade of red (complements green) maybe as a fill or rim light. Might work on those vertical background elements as well. Cheers!

@ hborre I didn't realize Poser made an actual folder on my HD when I created one in the library. Let me fool around with that a bit because it appeared to save my model but not my hair and props.
@ MikeMoss sounds like a workable plan. I need to get more familiar with the folder structures as I work out my own system. Sorry to hear about the lightning. I got hit over the summer and recieved a couple bad HDs before getting one that worked. Had my stuff backed up but not my system ;-(

Quote - When I create a specific character I save it to a specific folder named for the character, then I copy the standard texture folder from the Runtime to it. Â this supplies the teeth, eyes and all the misc. stuff.

Hi Mike,
When you say "save it to a specific folder" do you mean Poser can save the character out to a folder or that you drag files from your desktop to a folder you've created on your HD.
These are all interesting methods to explore but then I wondered why not use the script "save inventory". Is it because it's not as elegant or that saving files plus the poser scene (mine can be hundreds of MB) uses too much space? Maybe a combo of the two.
I'd like to have mine in an easily archivable runtime though.

Ok, sounds like the hard way it is. I think there is a utility that will merge the various runtimes, then I'll pick out the unneeded files from there. Thanks.

Thread: Who is your favorite figure? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I still use V3 a lot, simply because I made tons of stuff for her. This version is partially weight mapped to get it to bend better, and scaling has been redone so it works better. There are a lot more bones to do certain things. I have tweaked it so much that anything for this one has to be run thru other things just to use it on her. It is also grouped differently in the parameters window and you can do everything from the Body channel.
I still use lots of other characters thou. V2, V4, Antonia, the ones that came with Poser of the years, MyMichelle, Angela, M3, M4, and a ton of other ones I made or modded that are in my bloated runtimes.
She has a nice set of tats ;-)

Interesting thought randym77, Maybe I should look for victorian era, cowboy era (civilian not gunslinger) or even steampunk.

i keep installed runtimes on an external drive and backup the original installers to DVD disks organized in folders by character, props, architecture etc. I also backup my huge runtime folder on a (not so) regular basis. I then use a program called Disk Catalog Maker (on Mac) to keep track of where everything is stored. I use Delicious as my cloud based bookmarker and use tags to keep track of my potential Poser purchases. I'm also experimenting with keeping a folder full of jpgs so I can visually identify what different products are.

Thread: Vue vs Bryce? | Forum: Vue
"It should be kept in mind though that a free program like Bryce will attract a lot more hobbiests and experimenters where as Vue, with it's higher price, would attract more professionals and semi-professionals."
Actually the point I was making here is that with Bryce's low barrior to entry a lot of users may just play around with it that have no desire to improve their skills. It kind of pollutes the waters with low quality Bryce artwork (not that people don't have right to produce low quality artwork).
I just recently came across this most excellent artist KuzMich who uses both Bryce and Vue. Seems obvious that in the hands of a talented creater either program can get great results. I still lean slightly towards Vue in that the renders have a certain quality that I like. The final art still doesn't speak to the overall ease or difficulty of achieving the final output though.

Thread: Vue vs Bryce? | Forum: Vue
I appreciate the responses and some things have been cleared up. It seems I will need one of the higher versions to get the complete experience. Vue does seem to give me more realistic renders right out of the box and the artwork I've seen created with view does in my opinion surpass what I've seen of Bryce. It should be kept in mind though that a free program like Bryce will attract a lot more hobbiests and experimenters where as Vue, with it's higher price, would attract more professionals and semi-professionals. Working with the free versions and having tested the higher end versions, Vue seems easier to use to me. The interface and menu based access to settings works better for me.
I will say though, that I've also heard a lot of vitriol directed towards the developers, here and on other boards, based on their pricing and lack of customer support. That's problematic. I may need to continue with Bryce a while longer until I can afford to take the leap.
