Thread: Looking for a a good printer | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just for comparison, I have a Canon 4550, I find it works very well. The very, very best though, ans this is a laser ... is the Tektronix continuous tone phaser (laser) printer. I had access to it and printed some of my Poser/Bryce images on it ... sweet, lovely, I couldn't ask for better images. Of course the price tag is outragous, and the Canon I got for $150 and that was 3 years ago. Just info to help you out. Contact the manufaturers (Epson and Canon and have them send you samples, they'll be happy too, so will Hewelet Packard (I worked there a couple of years ago in tech support). Hope this helps. Boni

Thread: HELP!!! Can't find Poser for sale anywhere | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Curious Labs are in the process of repackaging "Poser 4" with their logo on the box. That takes time and resources, it should be finished by the end of August from the information I got at Zygote yesterday. Zygote as of yesterday afternoon had 10 copies of Poser and ordered 30 more to last until Curious Labs releases the new packaging. I hope that clears up the confusion. If I have any info wrong please, anyone from either Zygote or Curious Labs correct me, I don't want to distribute incorrect info. Boni

Thread: In an effort to build a better Unicorn - F.I.P | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I always thought the Unicorns in the movie Legend with Tom Cruise were the best I've seen. The head seems rather large to me (I've been drawing horses and horse-like creature since I was nine) what they call a "Hammer head" and generally on Mustangs. The body may need to be thin, but it's desproportionate to the rest of the figure. It needs to be longer and yes, a little larger as well. The tufts, cloven hoves, and "cow-like" tail would also improve the model. Great start though. Try an Arabian head, it will give it a regal look. Just My opinion. Boni

Thread: A few comments and questions.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've been an artist all my life (I'm in my 40's) and am working on files and tut's on "natural" poses since most of the poses that come with Poser are exagerated so much. The project is a little slow and I'm getting a new machine in the next few weeks which is slowing the process even more. But please keep checking back if there are small nuances or specific poses you are looking for. The advice you have here is sound, dials are much better for posing, and the texture is applied at render ... in P3 anyway. Enjoy, there will always be something new to learn. Peaple here are pushing the envelope (to use a much overused cliche) with Poser all the time and teaching it to do new tricks. Most of all have fun. Boni

Thread: Natural Poses for models ... interested? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
These are great posts guys, thanks, before I finalize my poses (and Dan, that is very, very helpful), I'll wait and check your posts with Tina's site. I don't have them finalized yet because of time constrants and some lost files in about three moves in the past 6 months (computer moves that is.) But I will keep in touch as I want to get this out for our other users ... I especially think this will help the new users, although it could speed up the works of the pro's too, they wouldn't have to tweek the poses as much as before. Okay, a new frontier for Poser, I like that. Take care ... more to come. Boni

Okay, I feel the same way you do momodot about the standing and sitting and will work on that. Saving poses will be new for me too ... I've been saving figures so far, I just know how to make the poses ... I may need help to make this all work. I'll let you know when I learn some of the saving stuff myself. But the poses ... hea, I'm jazzed for doing this project. Boni

Thread: Bryce 3D giveaway | Forum: Bryce
I have thier sister mag "Computer Arts" (special edition for 3d art) and a demo of Bryce 4. Seems the only difference between the demo and full copy is a couple import/export features and the absence of the second CD. Of course my Bryce 3d was a "demo", a full working copy, but not upgradable (I recieved it and Poser 3 as a retail sales rep). My question for those out there is what does anyone know about the limitations of the Bryce 4 demo and the full Bryce 4, I may be totally off base and if others are interested in the improved features (spray can, skylab etc.) trying it out first worth it? Just wondering. Boni

Thread: Looking For a Poster Publisher | Forum: Community Center
I've been slowly building a school, and gallery on my site and one purpose I have is to offer posters of artist's works. I would handle the orders, printing etc. for a commission based on the value of the print. It's like an online version of a regular art gallery. We'd be working together to sell artist's work. I'm still working out some of the details like finding a printer to do the posters anyway. I'm swamped in details, but I'm still determined to get this off the ground. If you get any more details please let me know, as my plans could move forward with information like that as well. Boni

Thread: What do you want a 3D model of? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay, I have one or two as well. I've been looking for these for over a year. 1. a 1940's school bus, mid-size. I use to er ... live in one with my great-grandparents as they traveled around the country before I started school, I wanted to have it as a momento to add a personal touch to some of my pieces. 2. a 1952 Plymouth. What my great-grandfather drove after he sold the bus in 1960. Well, if anyone can either model this for the free-stuff or know where I can get this. I can barter for finished traditional artwork. I work in pen, pencil, prismacolor and other media. Portraits mostly. If this is too much to ask, I certainly understand. Peace Boni
