if you import the obj files into C4D/Bodypaint you do not need to re-rig your figure in poser after exporting out of C4D/BP. but get Spanky's riptide import export plugin for obj files as C4D stock .obj import will scramble the point order and not preserve groups. Your other option is to do your scenes in Cinema 4D, you can import rigged characters directly from Poser using kuroyume0161's excellent Interposer Pro plug-in and animate directly in C4D, Cinema has much more advanced animation tools than Poser. the drawback if you want to do outdoor environments is that C4D or 3DS max are primarily modelers and not dedicated environment creators. they can both do environments but it takes more work than bryce or vue which both have a lot of tools specifically for environment creation.

Opera Devotee here, (yeah I know there is one in every crowd ) has used tabbed browsing for years, and no need to open a seperate email reader as an excellent email program is built in, even opens up in a tab so switching between web pages and email is as simple as clicking a tab.
Thread: Almost ready to give up on free character creation...PZ help?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
if by working on a character you mean using morphs from V3's morph packs than you are on the right track with injection pose builder. if you use that to make an injection pose you will be fine. distributing injection poses is totally legal, what you can't distribute is the delta files, which don't get saved in an injection pose. if you have created custom morphs with magnets or in an external modeler it gets a bit more involved.

Thread: Victoria4 and OptiTex: Interesting! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - > Quote - This is probably old news, but I read an interview with Dan at Daz and he said V4 will be backwards-compatable and that's why they've been holding off on the release.
Dan Farr makes a clarification of this point on the first page of posts in the linked thread:
http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=43644
Please note that you'll need to be a Platinum Club member to read this thread, as it's in the Members Only forum.
Basically, I understand him to be saying that the V4 backwards-compatibility with V3's clothes will be accomplished via a full body morph for V4 -- a morph to make V4's body shape itself like V3's.ย Otherwise, V4 will be completely unique.
actually let me clarify that a bit more with the full actual quote on V4-v3 compatiblility > Quote - Hello, It has been pointed out by some of the mods here that I needed to clarify a statement that I made in the Artzone Chat. The V4 to V3 clothing fit will be done similarly to what we did for the V3 to V2 (and other figures) clothing fit. Effectively this is done internally by creating a morph target from V4 that has the body shape of V3. Then we regroup the model so that it can use the V3 rig for compatability with V3 clothing. It will be compatable with the V4 head morphs and the whole figure will retain the V4 UV's. Sorry if the statement I made was not as clear as it should have been. Sincerely, Dan Farr
so basicly what we are talking about is a seperate V4 to V3 figure, along the lines of the V3 to V2 figure. this will not share the same rigging as the new V4 figure.

Thread: DAZ Studio to Poser 5 Conversion | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

How true it is.
DR
Sorry how has anyone at Efrontiers made any effort to help poser files be opened by any other software in recent years? And who said that DAZ doesnt allow other software to open their files, considering that DAZ offers their SDK to be used by anyone who applies for it, means that there is no hinderance for other software to create importers to open DAZ studio files. The ability of other software to open Poser files is through the sweat and tears of outside programmers who took the time to come up with ways to translate the poser file structure to their own, all without an SDK availible to them. Ask Kuroyume0161 how much help EFronteers was in producing his excellent Interposer Pro. And the proof is right in Dan Farr's statement above that DAZ has every intention of providing a method to export D|S files to poser. Not just waiting around for other software to be developed to do so but to do it themselves.
Thread: Is there even 1 Modeler to Open and Save a Poser Scene or Figure? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

well if you want an easy in easy out system without messing with loading morphs from objects you can try Morph Designer its not as flexible as a full modeler but it is easy to import and export to cr2 formatThread: Taking a course to learn modelling - for Poser clothes creation | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I downloaded ZBrush and am giving it a try. I REALLY like it. It seems to be something I can learn well.
Can anyone think of a reason not to go with this? The reason I ask is that I am looking at signing up for their online classroom.
ZBrush as it is now is a better tool for post modeling. as there are several drawbacks to its use as a modeler. primarily for clothing the big drawback is that you can have only one live mesh in the scene at a time, so using a base figure as a clothing dummy to build around is impossible(this will change with 2.5). also there is no way to control the mesh flow or amount of mesh enough to create an efficiant mesh, which means it will be difficult to get both a lot of detail and lower polycount in the same mesh(this will also change with 2.5) Ultimately I think ZBrush will eventually be a decent tool for clothing creation but in its current incarnation its better for doing high poly models and displacement and not so good for clothing.
Thread: Why don't IBL's affect specular materials? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
becouse for efficiant calculation of specularity the renderer needs a difinitive source point for lights. Image based lighting has no source point.

I know its possibly rather overkill just for a tie but my new Police Officer package does come with a conforming necktie for both M3 and David.Thread: Version 1.3.1.0 released | Forum: DAZ|Studio
as stated in the announcement in the DAZ|Studio forum over at DAZ you need to redownload and install your plug-ins again, the versions created for 1.3.0.1 won't work in 1.3.1.0. This is due to unavoidable changes made to the Plug-in SDK.
Thread: 3d painting | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
it really depends on how much you want to spend and what features you want. the most photoshop like program for 3D painting is Bodypaint3D from Maxon. This is what many of the big Production studios like Sony Pictures use. the price is pretty high though. Bodypaint has multiple material zone and full layer support. it paints in both projection and direct painting modes. another option is Deep Paint by Right hemisphere, this is probably the most popular 3D painting tools but its showing its age a bit and by some accounts Deep Hemisphere has stopped updating it, and its PC only its also fairly pricey it has pretty much all the options of Bodypaint (though you have to purchase the seperate Deep UV if you want to uv map in it. a third option is Modo 201, this is a full modeling Painting and rendering program. The painting and rendering features are brand new. again not inexpensive but for the price you get one of the best modelers on the market and probably the most innovative 3D paint system on the market. Zbrush has been covered by Moochie, its a great tool though I find its interface maddening personally. Another newcomer in the 3d Painting market is hexagon, very easy to use, but its painting features are fairly limited, only single layer painting, no projection painting, but it will do displacement painting which none of the previous tools except ZBrush does directly. Hexagon is also the cheepest of the bunch.
