Thread: ATTN: Curious Labs-Just a thought | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm not mad at CL, blaming them, etc. I am a little disappointed that the boxed version didn't actually ship on 21 March as was implied (sorry, shipping to a distribution center to then be packaged for shipping doesn't count), but that's not exactly class-action lawsuit material. I certainly don't begrudge the downloaders who are already playing with P6 either. I'm just saying that I would have gladly picked option C had it been available: Download Now and get a boxed version shipped when it is available for $10 - $15 more. Cheers!

I wouldn't have a problem paying extra to get a download version in the meantime , like a $10-$15 impatience charge. I went with the boxed version just in case something happened with the download but I was kind of expecting the boxes to ship on 21 March, not take a week or more to hit their distribution center, then take days to get organized for shipping before actually shipping. I've heard that CDs and DVDs burned at home can go bad over time, but the way the CDs are made for mass-production is different and holds up much better - that's why I went with the boxed version.
Thread: Why my V3 looks so "rugged"? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As far as I know, there's no change to the mesh. The change is in the .cr2 file, adding the expression morphs to the file so you don't need to inject them. Regular V3 poses should not work any differently than they did before. The scaling is also .cr2 related, not morph related. I'd suggest reinstalling V3 then the update and see if that helps. Thanks, Cres
Thread: *** WARNING *** O.T. - Possible PayPal Scam - Please Read ....... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I get at least 4 of these a week. The current favorites are WAMU and Paypal. Before that, it was Citizen's Bank and CitiBank. If you ever get one that you think could be remotely credible, CALL the company. A friend of mine almost got ripped off because she got an e-mail supposedly from her cable company saying she had to re-register all her payment information. Thankfully she called up to complain and found out it was a phising scam.

There's definitely some scaling going on with some body parts but not others. I can see that in the thumb for example. For the left arm in the first picture, try rotating her shoulder some more and her forearm less. If you try that pose in real life, you should feel a lot of the rotation taking place in the upper arm area. I have no idea on the neck off-hand. Without knowing if you're using a pre-made pose, a character set, any morphs, etc. it's hard to track down the problem any further. You might want to try reinstalling V3 in case there's an actual mesh problem, perhaps even using the V3 SAE edition which you can download in the Support area - it has some scaling built in for the hands. (You have to install V3 first, then you can install the SAE update.) I'd suggest turning limits on for the figure. The meshes are only designed to bend so far. It's like real life - your knees are only meant to go one direction and if you try to bend them the other way, nasty things happen. ;-) Looking at the background, I'd suggest rendering with a higher shadow map size once you're happy with the pose. The current shadow is very jagged. Hope this helps, Cres

Thread: V3 Morph Fitting Magnets for Clothing - Any Interest? | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
I'd be interested in the V3 one, especially with the male morph. I'd also be interested in one for Aiko 3.
Thread: Larry Weinberg creator of Poser - Latest Interview | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"I will say one thing, though. Poser 6 is going to piss more old timers off than Poser 5 did. Poser 6 is going to cause all the wonderful hacks and stuff to not work anymore."
Boy does that statement bug me. Most companies look at how their customers are using the product and find ways to improve the workflow even more. "Causing all the wonderful hacks and stuff not to work" is the opposite of what I expect as a customer. According to your statement, CL is purposefully taking what we like about Poser, what makes it easier and more efficient to use, and making sure it won't work while forcing in the stuff which we don't like and slows the program down - i.e. Content Paradise.
I'm reserving judgement on the program itself until it comes out, but the impression I'm getting from certain people in this thread is that CL is saying "to hell with the user, especially the ones that have supported the program for several years." That doesn't exactly give me a warm fuzzy to go out and buy any more upgrades from them.
Sigh,
Cres
Thread: What's the best file format for screenshots? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is no "one format fits all" option. If you're screen shotting a dialogue box, .gif often works best because there are just a few colors without much anti-aliasing, which is what .gif does best. If you're posting the results of a render, .jpg is usually the way to go.
The best thing to do is to do print-screen and then paste it into your graphics program and do Save for Web. If you can't do that (my version of PS gets weird and sometimes refuses to read what's on the clipboard), then save it as .tif, then open it up in your image editor and Save for Web. You should be able to then look at the different file options and see both the quality of the image as well as the file size. I know that PS reports that info, and I'd assume other programs do as well.

Thread: Why does conforming clothing barely work? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The MFD dress does have morphs such as sitting built in. You can also use the body handle (the cone under the dress) to swing the lower part of the dress (side-side or back-front) to tweak the fit. Hope this helps, Cres

Make sure you apply the MAT file in the Pose room and not the Material room. It won't apply properly in the Material room. Cheers!
