I have a very simple rule. What is the focus?

If a person creates an image in Bryce and then imports a few people or objects to bring the scene alive, for me it is a Bryce image.

If a person imports people or objects to be the main focus and then builds the bryce image around them, then for me the app that supplied those objects is the one under which the image should be posted.

@ICM. If you check my favorites you will note a large number of them are Poser Images. I agree there are people out there that can make that progran sing, BUT most of them can't . And I mean most. There are probably 100,000 poser users on this site,and 100 that can use it. One in a 1000 is not a great strike rate.

I know as moderator in what was originally a Poser community you have to defend it, but seriously once you move out of the Poser Community most other member think the majority of art work with a Poser tag is rubbish.

@ICM. I noted the 11 minute gap between your 4th and 5th post in this thread. Was that because you were laughing? I usually do when i have just used the words POSER and CREATIVITY in the same paragraph.

That's the first and last time I ever go in there. Personally, anybody who can't get their naked Vicky to look the way they want deserves every thing they get.

@wildman 2. I wouldn't worry about the comfy chair. It's running the gauntlet of the angry mob once you get out of it, I'd be worried about. BTW, if Pakled offers you a throw pillow decline and duck. You will only be hit by 5 or 6. If you accept, they are inbound for your entire time in the chair.

It's not naked.
It's not female.
Your character actually appears to be part of the scene and not just placed in front of a pre renderd bachground.
He does not have a thousand yard stare.
You took time to do it right.

And all of these traits are so alien to the Poser crowd that will make up the majority of your viewing audience that they appear to have ignored it.

For the DIYers out there.

I have run bryce 5 on a pentium 100 lap top.  For creating scenes it was fine. It was only when you wacked the render button that time stood still.

3D World Magazine had it on their disk a few months ago. I use it to render my Wings3D models.

Carrara and Wings, that should be good for a quick trip to the comfy chair.

I would like to see a few of these on a textured ground with a bit of atmosphere

My first computer had 1.9k of memory after upgrade. A hard drive was something you did in a car, and a mouse was killed on sight. The screen resolution could be represented using fingers and toes and it had a colour palette of BLACK and WHITE. Welcome to 1979. I remember standing around with a group of people a few years later while a tech head showed us the miracle that was a C64. Another few years and another group of us are jaw on the floor as a A500 ran the Juggler demo.

I listen to kids today bitch because their dual core 4 gig games machine doesn't cut it any more and just shake my head.

Being in OZ the 11th was almost over. Only an hour or so to go. I was asleep in a chair in the lounge room. My wife came out and woke me up. She said they were talking on the net about a plane hitting the WTC. I thought it was some sort of net crap but I turned on the TV any way. I rang my mother to tell her but she already knew and was actually about to ring me. We talked into the night, finally hanging up about 3 in the morning.

9-11 was one of those things that came at me from an odd angle. In January I went to a friends wedding in another state. When we went through security at the airport they let me walk through wearing steel capped hiking boots. They never asked me to take them off, to check them. I said to people later I could have had a thin knife under my foot and they would never know. When it was announced later about the hijackers having box cutters my previos concerns came back to me. But that was the lesser of two odd incident. Two days before 9-11 I was cleaning out my humpy at work. Behind a set of lockers I found an old Nat Geo magazine from 1987. In the center it had  a fold out section with 2 pictures of lower Manhatten taken from the top of a bridge. The images had been taken exactly 100 years apart.  Over the next few days I studied the pictures for hours. And when the planes struck late Oz time on the evening of the 11th the magazine was still laying open in the middle of the dining room table. I always get the feeling something was telling me something was about to happen.

I use to set up a scene, hit render, go to bed, and the next evening after getting home from work and having dinner I'd go take a look at where it was up to. If it was finished I'd move on. If not, I'd get a pen and paper and start designing my next CPU killer.

Now, with the multi core processor and enough memory to choke a large elephant ,I set up a scene, hit render and go to bed. The next night after............
