I've got vecta3D and Swift but I prefer using bitmaps and optimizing them as much as possible. I think that is out of 'fashion' though? Vector effects are great for any text effects though. The wave is made with a $30 dollar program called 'swish' ( I've seen the 'Beta' online version of a tool that does 100 different effects )

I didn't like it, even though the clients gave me a very wide margin of creativity. It is exciting the first time you're making money though. It also drags on longer than I liked. The client can get excited and wants more stuff. That's great, unless you would rather be concentrating on learning some new software. 'Freedom' can sting you though. It's best to have a client that is very specific about what they want. Here's a site that I made that was rejected: Burdine's Waterfront Marina My only instructions were: "I want graphics.. but I don't want anyone to have to wait more than a few seconds for it to load."

Bezier curves seems to be a popular addition. Challenges are fun.. might as well take a 'challenge' from a client though.. it pays better! The challenge that I'm issuing myself.. is to incorporate a lot of eager new modellers and animators into a project. I'll start a thread for it soon
Thread: RLE Compression | Forum: Animation
I was having problems with getting that message when using the Intel Indeo compression, which I like the best. I later noticed that it worked with a different animation. I think that some compression formats are picky about the size of the animation. I know of one compression that requires the image size to be multiples of 8. I think there is a similar problem with the Indeo. If I try and save at a size of 300X350, I get the message you got. If I use 380X400.. it works! Try creating a test animation at 380X400

Sounds like fun, what should we make? Ever make any screensavers? I'd like to take my favorite images from the gallery here and make them into a slideshow/screensaver that fades images together. Maybe I'll email some of these artists and ask if they'd like to be included on that? Each image could be made into a link to the artist's site. The animation I included in the previous post is made by shape tweening some clipart stars. They are made into a 90 frame movie clip which is then zoomed down to 15% and back to 100% over a 70 frame stretch, on the main stage, so that it varies which image appears largest.

From what I've read.. the consensus on the Adobe Live Motion appears to be.... Pros: Better interface than Flash Easier animation tools Cons: Uses bitmaps instead of vector Bigger filesizes No advanced scripting capabilities It might prove useful in future versions?

Hmmmm... I checked out mc-des just to make sure it was still good and can't seem to find much? They used to have hordes of great free effects. Try Stonewashed If there's a specific sound you need.. try searching for it here Good luck

Gorgeous background I clicked the 'experience' link and then the graphics link and it loaded about 600Kb but nothing happened. I came back to this page and the 3D bald head had loaded here. You might want to try and compress that size a little. I clicked the link again and the head was working there now too. The music kicked in the second time too. Nice overlaying of tracks. You can get a free screensaver software program here: screenweaver (click the link for downloads and scroll down to the version 1.02.. which is now freeware) Here's one that I made for a young actress: Lumencandle 1Mb

Thread: Question to Bink Users | Forum: Animation
I don't know the 'technicalities' of the situation.. but I used Indeo compression on my babycakes animation and the file was 5Mb. The same file was 18Mb with standard MS .avi compression. I then 'Binked' it at 20% and it IMPROVED the color and contrast! I then made the .bik file into an .exe and it's only 1.1Mb babycakes.exe

Dear LipSinc I hope that you continue to produce awesome software despite the whining of a few ungrateful people Thanks for agreeing to replace CD's that might become damaged. Please don't change your mind about that, although I wouldn't blame you after hearing the response to your gesture. Sorry about the 25 banner headlines ; (LIPSINC'S SILENCE SCREAMS THE TRUTH!!!!!) Some phonies won't even acknowledge that this implies anything negative about your company.. and they continue to make derogatory statements about your intentions... even though you've already come into this forum a number of times to reassure them.

If I were a software company and I had reversed my position regarding replacing CD's, only to have people posting banner headlines in all caps implying that my company was 'fraudulent'..and posting messages urging others to consider me the 'enemy'. If people refused to give me 'credit' for responding to the concerns of the community, I would stop trying to help that group. You want me to "walk the walk"? I'm speaking my mind and the truth. You're the one who is twisting my position into 'badgering'... simply because I won't 'pile on' with some others who are unjustly persecuting a decent company. As for Mac's, all the Flash related software I've recently bought is available only for PC. Some of these companies have announced that they have no intentions of making versions for the Mac. This is due to the high expense required for a 'shrinking' market and also due to 'proprietary' restrictions self-imposed by Apple. I suggest a second computer. A PC.

You can download 'Bink' for free from the company that flashes the URL at the end of the babycakes.exe movie All you do is open Bink, find an .avi or .mov file and click the Bink button. There will be a lot of 'options' .. but the only thing you need to enter is where it says the 'percentage' of compression that you'd like to use. I used 20% for Babycakes. So it turned the .avi from over 5Mb to about 1Mb
