This is just my .02, but here goes: This site is of immense value in both a monetary and aesthetic sense. It provides a living community to digital artists, and at the same time, allows a company to testbed their software and systems. As a user, I am concerned that the influence of corporate management strategies will reduce the effectivness of this community, our shared digital home. I am delighted at the amazing amount of work that went into, and is still going into this site to make it what it is. BUT, the work going on, which is immense artisticly and tecnically, happens on both sides. All I ask, is that the Powers that Be remember that Renderosity does not follow a conventional business model in any sense. We, as a collection of artists work in symbiosis with your company and form a Community. As long as the Community remains, you will always have artists and creators eager to participate. Just remember that we have to work together through this. Falcon

I forced myself to not actually game (twas HARD), but it proved worth it! Thanks for the congrats. I still say that a good chunk of the positive feedback and offers I received came as a direct response to Renderosity's amazing talents! Falcon

As a matter of fact the Poser plugin does work. I've been doing some short animations (learing the ropes) in Poser and importing them directly. Some P4 models are a bit unstable in RDS5.5, but so far I'm having a 95% or higher success rate! To all of you THANK you for the links and suggestions. I'll try and post some of the animations and pics this upcoming weekend when I get back from San Francisco. Take care all, Falcon

The Ferret is a model from Dedicated Digital. I added another Fur bump to it, and should have smoothed it again I suppose =) I think that's what accounts for the blockiness. As for the water, that's a low lying bit o' fog =) I used a latice, and looking back at it, should have made it more inconsistent. Thanks for taking the time to view these and for the comments!! Try picking up a copy of Computer ARts magazine, they often have copies of PSP on there, and I think (not sure though) that the PSP ones are full editions. You can also d/l PSP5 on the net (still shareware at that point) which is what I use on that side of things, very cool texture, thanks for sharing it! BTW -- email me if you two actually do want that lamp, things have been hectic of late and my d/l page is getting pushed back by real life =) Falcon
Thread: Why does no one try this? (vampire eye trick) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
IF you want to do this in Bryce, select the iris portion of the eye (you did leave grouping in place right? If not, use a tool like Pixel 3D to create groupings based on the vert points in the model instead), then select the material to be lit green (to match your pic), and fuss with the ambience. You can even place a wee little light in the hollow poser head =) Falcon

Actually, Obsidian is a traditional (only word that works) RolePlayingGame, set in the 23rd century as I mentioned above. Its getting great reviews here and overseas (gone over like mad in the UK). So apparently there was another Obsidian, intersting, I didn't realize. Sorry for any confusion. Falcon

Honestly folks, much the mad science prop creation going on as we speak. The panels and control boards are a must! I tried using some of the d/l stuff available on the net, but everything is sharp, nothing has a good tex or even bevelled edges =). I do still work full-time +, but look for posts starting this week. Falcon
Thread: Building a set of Free Photo-realistic Props -- Care to share a WISHLIST? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As a word of explanation, the project I am working on is a series of illustrations for the Obsidian game, as well as a 5minute movie trailer for release at GenCon in August. The setting is in the 22nd century after the revelations/apocalypse has happened and the fores of 'hell' are loose. It has high tech weapons, and a completely gritty and dark universe. The images and settings that I'm bulding are interiors, items, exterior features and fixtures as well as some special effects. I will eb posting ALL of the objects from this project eventually, but figured I'd need a subject matter break, hence my offer =) SO to you all, I am building a master list, and will build everything I can =) Falcon

The lockers and the bench are not a problem, I have scenes Im building that they and similar objects will fit in or can be derived from. The fiero now, that could be a major project in and of itself. (I did start looking for a good pic ... just in case) =) Falcon --I'll keep you all posted--
