Another thing to do is look through the shadow camera for each light that is supposed to cast
a shadow and see if the figure is indeed in a position to cast a shadow, and see if there is
anything behind the figure for the shadow to fall upon.
Thread: How many kinds of Poser People are there, and which are you? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
More of a Poser Technician, just interested in playing around with it to see what I can
do rather than creating anything resembling art.

Each sensible user would rather get DAZ Studio, except a handful old dinosaurs who have got too much used to Poser that they are incapable of changing their habits; And that's not a market share.
Who you calling a dinosaur?
Thread: OT: Wanna launch a satellite commercially? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - > Quote - Why is it costs less when a system is privatized?
Like in world war 2, weapons are manufactured by the government but now there are weapons companies doing it for the government.
- Cause the government subcontracts everything
- Privatized companies are out to make money - faster+cheaper+better=profit
I do some work for NASA and at one time their philosophy was also faster+cheaper+better.
Turned out faster+cheaper+better=failure. It got to be the joke faster+cheaper+better,
pick two out of three. Now the main emphasis is on reliability, and most recent launches,
such as the Phoenix mission to Mars and the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO)
have performed flawlessly.

Or you could give PhilC's Clothing Designer a try if you want to make clothes
from scratch and don't want to try to learn how to use a modeling program.

He died at 3AM this morning, just few hours ago.Only 19 years old. Unbelievable. Everyone is in a big shock.
So sorry to hear that.
Thread: Why DAZ Women's Buttocks are unrealistic | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - If you apply upright sexy poses to V3, she looks good and realistic BUT one major problem i have noticed is if you view the character from the rear.. and specially if the pose is one where the character is bent over alittle. The buttocks are SOOOO UNREALISTIC.. The Mounds of the buttocks are too narrow.
One way to fix this is to Set Hip XScale to about 120%. Looks great for the back view BUT then if you keep using v3 with this hip change for shots of figure standing up right and from the front, she's disfigured and doesn't look good..thus for animation, it wouldn't work. The only time Xcale 120 looks good is from shots from behind( non animated) , where you see the character's buttocks.
Here is a picture of the really narrow Buttock mounds that most Poser females, including DAZ ones have. Not realisitc at all
Is there a fix for this?? Did DAZ do anything about this for V4? I just have v3 but from all the previews i've seen of v4, it seems v4 has the same problem.
Couldn't, during an animation, you just change the hip scale from 120% to 100%,
depending on the position of the figure? Morphs can be animated, just like positions.
Thread: Any advice on distorting transparencies, reflections for under water ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
For water you should use the refract node, not transparency. This will give you the effect you are
looking for.
Thread: bvh from daz studio drops v4 down below the floor | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Another method is to click on Window/Python Scripts/Utility Funcs/DropFigAllFrames.
The problem with using this is if you have a BVH where the character is jumping or dancing
or otherwise is supposed to be above the ground, the character is forced down to the ground.
Sort of looks odd to see a character that is supposed to be jumping just sliding along the
ground instead.
Thread: Platinum Club Membership Daz3d | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When I first got Poser and felt the need to have content, I joined, and bought a lot of
things, because most were $1.99. After a while I had so much stuff that it seemed
a waste of money to buy more. It got to the point where all I was getting from it
was a hit on my credit card for the monthly membership fee. So I canceled it.
Now I mostly just grab the free stuff, or make my own content in Wings 3D.
If you don't have a lot of content right now or there is something really expensive
and you can get a good discount, it's probably worth it. Just know when to quit
when you have enough.
Thread: Poor Quality Animation Output | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Another advantage of making individual frames is if Poser crashes, you don't have to start
all over again, you just start from the last good frame and do the rest of the frames.
When you first click on Make Movie, where it says Time Span in the upper right
of the pop-up window, just put the frame you want to start with instead of 1.
Say you have 100 frames and it crashes at frame 23, put your time span start as 23
and end as 100.
Plus if there is a problem with an individual frame or a set of frames, you can change just
those frames and replace the bad frames. Again enter the start and end range of the
frames you want to change. Say the bad frame are 58 through 64, Start: 58 End:64.
If you have Poser Pro, you even have the advantage of off-loading the rendering
of those individual frames to another computer using the render queue,
Thread: [OT] ATI or Nvidia??? New Machine, new video card | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Had an ATI card, didn't like it. Too hard to set up and never seemed to work right.
Have had Nvidea cards ever since and have liked every one of them.
Just my two cents.
Thread: Better Render Software | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - that's not too bad ! - the water looks a bit odd but then Poser isn't great at water renders
Franky the water looks like a semi-transparent cloth plane.
Real water has refractions and reflections.
Thread: Day Light Savings Time - March 8, 2009 - this Sunday | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - No it doesn't ................. I'm in Aridzona and we don't believe in that stuff.
Nuther Zonie here. Yay, glad I don't have to mess with that stuff.
I have about a dozen clocks in the house, counting the ones on
the VCR, DVD, TV, microwave, cell phone, computer, etc.
Plus a whole bunch at work. For something called "Savings"
just think of all the time people waste having to reset all the
clocks in their house and at work.
Thread: Poser 8 Wishes list , please make yours ! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Either make the face room a lot easier to use or better yet just dump it altogether and free up
the memory and other resources it takes up. Also do we really need a content room?
Then in it's place license some things like Wardrobe Wizard and Poser Physics.
Things that would be useful to more users..
