Thread: (Serious) Most Frequent Questions for Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thread: What is Poser 6 SE (special edition..... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The Poser 6 application as such should not be different. The "Special Edition" only refers to the Winter Queen (which is included content), Shade LE (which is a separate application) and a fancy box (which we all will throw away once we have unpacked the content anyway).
Thread: P6 pre-order 'invalid serial no.' Anyone else getting this? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I entered all 0's as "zero" and all 1's as "one", I suppose that is the way it should be. The way it is printed on the CD cover, it looks like it should be the figure 0 (it has that little slash over the 0) and the 1 is clearly a "one" and not "I". Didn't help, still says it's not valid :-(
Thread: Right, I've b*****d had enough of this! P5 bump maps AAAAAAGH! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Have you tried MAT Pose Edit? If you have MAT files, there is a batch converter in MAT Poser Edit 3 that will generate new MAT files with the bump maps connected properly. You will even have the option to set the bump strength yourself before the conversion.
Thread: Spaceship hull plating? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't know exactly what you are looking for, but RuntimeDNA (www.runtimedna.com) has lots of free P5 stuff and there is a set "Tech Materials" that has several materials that can be used for spaceship hulls.

Thread: Using INJECTION | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
INJ pose files does nothing for textures, they are for injection of morphs. Basicly, V3 is empty when you load her. To use the morphs, you must inject them. After installing the morph packs with the INJ morphs, you should find folders in your Pose library with the injection files. The INJ files adds the corresponding morph and dial to the appropriate body part. The REM files does the opposite: it removes the morph. You should note that a V3 with all morphs injected is a VERY large file. Only inject the morphs you plan to use and then remove the ones you didn't use anyway to keep the filesize down. By just having the morphs you use injected you can actually in many cases end up with a V3 who is smaller than a regular V2.

As for the lighting question:
Shadow maps are individual to each light. You can't add them together for several lights. The shadow map size defines the resolution of the shadows for that particular light. You can have one light with a map size of 1024, giving a very sharp and precise shadow, together with another light with a map size of 256, giving a fuzzy shadow, in the same scene. The shadows from each light will be different according to the map size.

You can't edit the meshes in Poser, but you can apply textures to your liking. The editing of the figures is constrained to the morphs built into them. You can build very crude things with the Poser primitives (sphere, cube, cylinder etc), but not do any modelling as such. V3 is a stand-alone figure sold by DAZ (www.daz3d.com). She is not essential for Poser (you will get a bunch of figures with the package) but she is the most advanced and versatile female model around. A lot of free and commercial add-on stuff is made for her and, yes, you need to get her before you can use any of these add-ons.
Thread: V3 Texturing help please... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you have a MAT file, it goes into you Pose library folder. You just double click on it and the texture is applied correctly.
Thread: V3 Texturing help please... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I assume that you don't have a MAT file for the texture to make it easier? In that case, assigning a texture manually goes like this: Select the body part in question. In the material window, click on the connection for Diffuse_Color and "pull" out a line to create a new node. Select "Image Map". An Image Map node appears, but with no texture loaded. Click on "None" beside the text "Image_Source". From there, you can browse to your texture. If it's already loaded somewhere else in the scene, you will find it in the drop down menu. Make a connection from "Specular Color" to the new node as well. Specular color is usually black (unless you want a really shiny look), so you might want to make sure it's black, sometimes it loads as white per default. You need to repeat this for every body part, but you can copy and paste the node to make it easier. Also make sure that the head and body textures goes on the appropriate parts! V3 with a nose on her belly might look fun, but I suspect it's not what you are after ;-)
Thread: My new V3 wont work! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The base V3 comes without morphs. The packages you already bought injects morphs that are in the Head and Body Morph Packs and applies a dial value to create the characters. Without the Morphs Packs, V3 is is pretty useless unless you are madly in love with the default V3 look ;-)

DAZ is pretty good with refunds, they offer an unconditional 30 day refund policy, even for downloads. You should contact them, tell them about your mistake and I'm sure they will sort it out.

karen is correct, it appears that you are trying to use the Anniversary Bundle without having V3 installed. The Anniversary Bundle is just an add-on, you need the following products for it to work:
This is stated on the product page. If you missed it, you should ask DAZ for a refund and buy the basic V3 packs first and start with those.
V3 is an amazing figure, but the Anniversary bundle does not appear to be a very good deal to me. If you start with the basic V3 products listed above and add some free hair from Kozaburo and a nice skin texture, you can come very far without the bundle.
