Thread: What was cooking up in my laboratories today ? :D | Forum: Bryce
Dunno, it seams that mine always does (on import), cuz all my models end up twice as big (polycount wise), this one had like 80000 quads, and polycount in Bryce is 160000 or something...!?!

Yep, I will, I was just in the middle of that :D
EDIT: Here is original SILO format file:

Here is the link (3.7 Mb download):
Ther is no restrictions of any kind on this mesh (except claiming ownership, ofcourse), everything else IS alowed, including distribution, editing, poserizing (if anybody is willing to do any of those), etc ! ;o)
Cheers ! :D

Went to bed after I posted this last nite, sorry for a late reply, I was too sleepy ! :D
Thanks for a nice words, ya all, I realy have no idea how to rig it, it will be for free, but polys need to be optimized a bit, now it has 230000 and that is bit high, i have a great tutorial for riging it in Poser, but I have to go through it and see...will be available today as a mesh only, just have to upload it later !!! :D All modeling done in SILO, only rendered in Bryce ! :)

Thread: Had a choice on buying 2 Programs and 1 was Vue Infinite...? | Forum: Bryce
I personally do not feel that I'm ready for such a shock yet, still need to master lotsa stuff in Sub-D modeling, expecially characters, i did only 2 and 1/2 till now :( Z-brush is on my list for a future, but after I purchase good rendering app, looks like that's gonna be Vue 5 Infinite, just hoping they are gonna implement displacements soon...:D

Just test it, try to import one of the higher resolution Bryce terrains (2048x2048) which is about 4 milion real polys in Z-Brush as OBJ, i would love to know what happens :P
Thread: Had a choice on buying 2 Programs and 1 was Vue Infinite...? | Forum: Bryce
Yep, cuz those 8 milion are not real, they are 2.5 D (as displacements), when it comes to real 3D polygons, nothing can beat Bryce (an ofcourse Maya, this one was for LSD !:P)

Oh, you will be, trust me...and not so soon either, creature modeling needs a LOTS of practice, in a 6 months, maybe ! ;o) Wish you luck ! :D

If you like modeling a lot (unconventional way) than Z-Brush, but prepare yourself to be blown away (steep learning curve for clasic modelers, expecialy ones with nurbs background)...also, graphic tablet is almost a must with it...
Vue, what I heard, has a similar learning curve as Bryce has (bit steeper, maybe), and it's more rendering oriented, modeling capabilities are equal to Bryce :P
I heard good and bad things about both rendering engines (they are almost compareable), so you gonna have to do some more research in that field...eco-systems are very nice, that is why V5I is gonna be my future rendering app, I already have a very solid modeling software, SILO ! :D I think, your choice would be Vue !!! :P

I'm curious too, thinking about selling some models myself, feeling bit more comfortable with my modeling, lately, $100 maybe ???
