Have you tried using the bucket tool to check if Yuki's head and body are tinted the same way? It looks like that is what happened.

Have you tried setting the skin color(with the bucket tool) to white? That way, the color of the head should match the rest of your character.

I think that depends on what effects you are trying to achieve in your render, Saro. If you are trying for a render that should have a sense of being very large, then, I think, depth cueing can be quite helpful. As far as I know, most folks don't use it in a close up picture unless they wish to simulate fog or heavy mist. I hope that helps!
