I wouldn't be disappointed in the least with the results from the zoom. It's great having a fast lens and those two images proves that. Great flash compensation on the first one so as to not overexpose...great details..and what a friggin expression, makes me want to run and stick my head in a whole in the ground. 2nd image, although a little dark, I find it fits the mood perfectly...I love seeing him spew the flamable liguid from his mouth and that fire is wicked. Excellent work on your part...The lens doesn't make a great photograph...the photographer does with his knowledge. :))

ummm, got enough equipment there? lol. Almost looks as thought finding space to do anything else might be a problem. ~giggles~ however I must admit, being the electronics junkie that I am...I love it. :))

A great loss to the community, but we all know how happy that he must be to have joined the love of his life once again. I feel sad for his son who I'm sure looked to his father for guidance and support. There will never be the right words to express or help relieve the pain except knowing that we all care.

Mesa can go all day drinking coffee and seeing this makes me want to go and make a pot. Cindy, sometimes I really think you should be in advertising. Your presentations are always some of the best. Now I must trapse off to the kitchen and make that brew...... :)
Thread: Opinions requested on Gallery Content | Forum: Photography
Sorry I've been away and thanks Cyn for sending me the link. :) A very controversial subject and one that has many different opinions. Mine being that ever since I started taking photography more to a professional level my opinion has changed. I love seeing work that a photographer has put effort into such as composition, lighting, subject etc etc. I like seeing someone make the camera (digital or film) work for them and not let the camera do all the work. I feel that adjustments such as levels, saturation and cropping are a given and just part of the digital darkroom technique but past that it seems to take away from what true photography is. These days anyone can make a bad picture pretty but strip all that manipulation away and try and see what the real truth is in technique. There are many talented photographers here that I respect and nothing better than someone really putting effort in to improve their abilities. Sometimes I feel this gallery has almost become like the poser gallery...it's gotten away from the appreciation of photography to the point of how many comments one can get or the "Vote" message that seems to imply I'm voting, now please vote on mine kind of thing. I've seen really great photographs go with very little comments and something mediocre go with 50 and 60 comments...puts a bad taste in my mouth that this gallery is losing what I felt it was about in the first place...photography...but hey that's another discussion. lol. Not trying to tick anyone off, just stating the truth. Misha and Michelle I applaud your efforts in trying to keep this gallery pure and true to what it's suppose to be. I agree with your statement. Please keep it up because I use to once love posting here. Have a great day!!!

Yep, that's exactly what I'm talking about! :) Great job by the way...looks really fantastic! What kind of material were you using and did you have to tweak it quite a bit? Would love to see you possibly do a tutorial on that because it's pointless to make an action scen such as you did without rising dust and it looking at least half way decent. :)

Thanks guys really appreciate it! Sounds like I'm either going to have to do it in post or just keep experimenting and see what I come up with. Yikes...scary thought. Wabe the monthly theme idea is great! You are right. Since I'm just learning view, I'll try and get more involved in such things. I'm always up to learn and challenge myself and others around. bonnyclump...I'm hoping to get VuePro before too long, but it would be awesome if they did have a particle generator/script for vue...
