Why do I make nude art? Hmmm... Because the image of the "ideal" man makes me horny... No, really, the reason I love to do nude art is because of the body structure, but not just the carnal, lustful part of it (though that's there, guaranteed) it's because of the shapes. The ridges and valleys and hidden spots that you don't see until the light hits it just right. I mean, I can't be the only one who sees the microcosm/macrocosm relation in human beings. The entire human body, male or female, is a vast world of mountains and valleys. A landscape of fields and open plains. Ahhh... I love it. I've tried to put clothes on poser men before, honestly, but as I keep going they just end up nekkid again! Long live the artistic nude!

Thanks for the tip Bonni, but I already have seen that prop. It looks okay, but still not that great. My biggest issue is the way textures ust wrap around the part and mirror on the other side, which tends to give Mike's penis that.. well... splattered finger painting mirror look to it. You know, when you drop a blob of paint in the middle of the paper and then smash it to see what you get. Honestly, I've seen some strange designs appear on Mike's wee-wee because of that mirroring effect. The same seems to occur with the penis prop from RDNA... except now it looks like a worm.

Actually.. forget that anal prop all together! I'm still waiting for a decent genital prop for Mike!!!

I love mike and all, but I shudder to imagine what on earth someone would want with an anus prop.
Thread: Is it really my art? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When I first began doing 3D art.. especially in Poser with all the available free downloads and "props" that others have made, I too questioned whether this was truly my art or someone else's. Before Poser I used to do a lot of pencil sketching and "comic book style" artwork. At that time I never doubted my artistic ability. However, as I began setting up props and sticking one model here and another there, it felt more like I was simply photographing someone else's work. It wasn't until I discovered "post-working" and how much more can be added to a simple combination of lighting and props. This was where my true artistic talent shined, and this, I believe, is what distinguishes anyone from someone else. It's that personal touch they add to every picture. No matter the props... it's the artist behind it that can make the true work of art. My two cents...

I agree.. these images are gorgeous, and caused me to wonder why some of the renders look grainy while others do not. I mostly notice this on the vegetation and water effects in some pictures. Like I said, the potential in Vue looks awesome, but it's just that look that concerns me. In my opinion, the "grainy-ness" reminds me of the "Add Noise" filter in Photoshop set to a low setting. It's nice for some pictures, but not all of them.

It's quite easy to observe that the majority, not all, but the majority of images in these galleries are more hormonially driven than artistically driven. The fact of the matter is, it's still a form of expression, though a rather personal and perhaps, tasteless form of expression. Photographs from the galleries of Mapelthorpe always made me a bit uncomfortable.. well.. actually.. a lot uncomfortable. But, maybe that was what the artist was going for as well... to make the viewer get an "in your face" type of feeling. Hmmm... just random thoughts on the subject. I guess hormonally driven and artistically driven is what seperates the true artists from the wannabe's?

Sam, I agree with you on the statement: "If a person is told repeatedly that something is attractive, eventually they will believe it." It goes back to the days when larger women were considered attractive because it was a sign of being "well-fed" and wealthy enough to afford good food and eating. Marilyn Monroe was considered a babe in her day and she was a size 10 or larger, maybe. The media tells people what's nice and they believe it. Playboy models have been getting skinnier and more plastic every year. Take some of today's models and actresses, they look like starving ethiopians or anorexic poster children. Laura Flynn Boyle and "Posh Spice" Victoria come to mind.

Other than Angelina Jolie or Jessica Alba, I've never seen a woman who I thought was attractive with a set of huge lips. They either look like they've been punched, walked into a door, or otherwise sucked on one too many lemons. Then again, I've noticed most Victoria characters look like bad plastic surgeon projects anyway.

Not saying I know Stasisxxx or anything, but I've seen some of his other work and products in the marketplace and they're pretty good. Seems kind of odd that a person of his skill would steal anything? Again, not saying he didn't, just an observation...
