@ Kittykat - you actually have "Daz Bridge stuff" in your VWD installation package?
@ VWD - Kittykat 'ignored Poser in the VWD install process', the only time Poser was mentioned.
Kittykat did however mentioned Daz Library Script subfolder, and "force killing" Daz Studio.
So it seems it's all Daz from that point on, and no Poser, at least from what's been presented.
Agape and myself are confused by KittyKat having installed a Daz Bridge! Which, allegedly came together with KittyKat's VWD installation package!
Mysterious indeed!
Unless...KittyKat got the Carrara bridge half-working in DS... or even got the Poser pythons installed into Daz Library and then got it half-working in DS...

Because Daz doesn't own or control VWD, it can't make money off of it and will (in my experience) do their immature, short sighted and greedy best to break it's compatibility.
Any marketplace an do their immature, short sighted and greedy or sloppy best to break any vendor's tool's compatibility or reputation. But why would they do that to themselves? Some people are also saying Daz bridge is being held hostage on Youtube but why would a marketplace sabotage its own vendors and spite its own face?
Marketplace owners are typically getting less than 51% of the sales, so it's not their responsibility to ensure updated products get loaded to the shelf ASAP. It also takes an army to interrogate and test the viability of a plugin app. Perhaps, VWD/ Philemot products maybe landmark tool to the greater community, but they're probably just a backlog bleep on the vast warehouse inventory of Walmart Rendo with many hundreds of hotter sexier content waiting to be boxed and delivered. Software utility customers should expect to be lowly prioritized and wait an unknown time (24 hours to 24 day) to have Daz bridge getting the green light. Be patient, as they say, because there aren't any tools out there that will dress Genesis with dynamic clothing so we have no choice but suck it up, think about it, right?
To conclude, we customers of the marketplaces, Daz3D or Rendo or others, have no choice but to suck up all manners of store professionalism. Or go elsewhere I guess.
Cheers! I mean it!
Looking forward to Daz Bridge being green lighted....

Just a note...
To minimise misunderstanding and confusion that will surely arise due to language differences and the complexity of this MULTI-FAMILY plugin, or just for the sake of basic communication clarity, it's best for all parties to be clear upfront:
VWD version 1.x.0.2.x.y.z. Released on month/date/year
DS BRIDGE version 1.0.x.x.... Release on month/date/year.
D.S version 4.9.x.x. compatibility. Preferably stated clearly Release/ Public build.
Cheers

A quick word to let you know that the Daz bridge has been submitted for sale here at rendo. It will be available for buying when accepted by Q&A.
Thanks Philemot for this GREAT news!
And my faith in this marketplace is somewhat restored too! ;)
In case new Rendo visitors don't know clicking on the house shape icon next to forum member's name will lead to the store... Here's the direct link to Philemot's Renderosity shop front
Which I will be checking every hour LOL!

I'm very happy to hear that Daz Bridge is ready!
I hope I heard you correctly. Correct me if I'm wrong, you're saying...
there's an existing VWD version on Renderosity shop front. It doesn't work completely with Daz Studio.
there's an updated VWD version, which will work with Daz Studio.
if we want to buy VWD for Daz Studio, we still buy and install the existing VWD from Renderosity
and then we will still need to email you to your email address (if so pls provide email address)
you will then email us the updated VWD version that will work with Daz Studio
you may need to email us future VWD update versions, for Daz Studio/ Carrara, or just for VWD own continued improvement and minor fixes.
If your concern is whether potential buyers will find the shopping process tedious, or may have issue with entrusting some strangers with personal email address, no issue on my part. I think it's healthy that indie developers have a good direct relationship with its small audience.
Quite a few Carrara and Daz Studio developers even host their tools on their own website where they keep the latest update and patches. It makes sense, given how busy and overworked the marketplace store admins tend to be. As a paying customer I'd love to have the option of having the update fixes emailed to me directly when it's ready, and not wait 4 weeks to 12 weeks for a version update to be uploaded!
You mentioned Philemot and VWD Bridge for Daz, but didn't mention how and where to buy the VWD Bridge for Daz. Presumably the bridge will be sold together with VWD on Renderosity shop?
It would indeed be ideal for all involved, I think, if we get to buy VWD and the Daz Bridge together from the same shop front. Even then, I cherish (and I think others too) your works so much I'm willing to shop at 2 different shops, or even on a different marketplace if I had to.
Thank you both creators and fellow beta testers. I look forward to a new bout of creativity for Daz Studio users!

Damn everytime I see this thread bumped up I think the bridge is ready lol
Well now it's my turn to get somebody else's hopes up.
The desire for the Daz Studio bridge is very pent up obviously.... 2442 plus views of this thread compared to the other threads...
Daz Studio hasn't had any major plugin for some time already since Look At My Hair.
I think many people look forward to this very HOT landmark plugin!
I also think most will gladly play paid "gold" testers to the bridge, given the intermediate-advanced nature of this tool. Well, at least I am! So don't worry too much about perfection, just basic usability.
Waiting waiting...
Thread: How about a thread containing a list of links to help files and videos? | Forum: Virtual World Dynamics
I think the most futureproof and lowest maintanence way is to have a sticky thread with the top post = master INDEX.
Sorted like this....
ENGLISH
VIDEOS [sort by VWD/ Daz Studio plugin/ Poser plugin/ Carrara plugin, then most recent or most comprehensive]
---clothing video 1 (description)
---clothing video 2 (description)
---hair [vid 1 vid 2 etc also sorted by recent/ comprehensive]
---other focus/ fun things to do with VWD/ misc tips & tricks [same sorting]
TUTORIALS, GUIDES, TIPS & TRICKS (NON-VIDEO)
also [sort by VWD/ Daz Studio plugin/ Poser plugin/ Carrara plugin, then most recent or most comprehensive]
---clothing TUT 1 (description)
---clothing TUT 2 (description)
---clothing TUT 3....etc
---hair [tut 1 tut 2 etc also sorted by recent/ comprehensive]
---other focus/ fun things to do with VWD/ misc tips & tricks [same sorting]
then... the other languages
FRENCH/ GERMAN/ SPANISH/ JAPANSE/ CHINESE/ RUSSIAN etc..
(repeat the English Index hierarchy logic)
VIDEOS --- clothings ---- hair ----misc
TUTORIALS & TIPS --- clothing --- hair ----misc
Also specify upfront: it's a general VWD ecology "Site Map", a jump off thread to other threads, on Rendo/ youtube/ forums/ blogs...
For people to ask, where to find this specific info?
But most important, as an overview of the VWD ecology:
For people totally new to any of the 3 softwares to get an idea of VWD's family/siblings, just with one glance at the index sorting hierarchy.
Just a loose suggestion as a former game content download site owner... cheers...

Video tutorials are really a problem. Thank you for your suggestions.
A tutorial is so easy to do for me in french. I do them simply, naturally. I can do several tutorials in the same day. The translation using subtitles or another method complicates the process. I want to improve my English but I can tell you there is a huge work.
I want to make a proposal. I make all the tutorials I told about in french. For all the tutorials too difficult to understand without translation, you tell me so. Then I ask to someone to translate it and tell it in English. This work asks time and I want to pay for that.
Finally, if anyone accepts to translate and tell a video, I can send her/him 40$ for this work. This price is the price of one VWD version when Jenn will accept to do the update. I want to put the price to 59$ to decrease the price for Daz Studio buyers.
Tell me your opinion on the subject.
There's one more simple option. No translation required on your part.
Youtube has a Crowd Source Subtitles option.
It's been used successfully with TED talks videos.
You only need to provide your video transcript in French one time.
This path will also allow Spanish Japanese Chinese users from Daz/Carrara/Poser to volunteer their translation. Wider audience, better for VWD, I think.
Just another option.
Great new videos btw.... Cheers!

Neighbourhood is for parts that are not connected, so useful for hair: the upper parts, and say making sure buttons stay where they are supposed to and not drop on the floor.
Nice. Sounds like the equivalent of Daz Studio Rigid Follow Node, its influence area.

I was not satisfied by long hair simulations. I just tried a new method which improves the simulation. Tell me if this method seems better for you. Here is the link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JXXclWqjAQ
This simulation has been made using a new method to animate long hair. The top of the hair uses a rigidification by neighbourhood and the bottom of the hair uses a rigidification by extension. A video tutorial will be made to explain this method.
By 'Neighbourhood' do you mean fall off distance?
Having finer gradient between pinned and unpinned mesh area is always good, for hair, or even clothing.
The lack of easy to implement fall off control was the key shortcoming of DS Dynamic Clothing Control (and Carrara Bullet soft which uses tedious vertex selection to compensate).
The video shows off very good simulation fidelity, as all your videos and animation choices do!

The subtitles takes me more than 2 hours for a video 10 mns long. I work to improve my English spoken but, with grammar errors, a very bad accent and many words badly pronounced, the result will not be more useful than the French ones. If you know a solution to resolve this problem, All your ideas will welcome.
I agree, creating the videos in French is fine. And if you could find someone to do either of the following, it would be more than good enough.
tighten up the English subtitle translation - only to help speed up learning of this highly involved CG process. English is not my first language but I can understand your translation completely, but then I'm verse in soft dynamic technicalities so I have to be biased I think.)
and/or, as WritersBlock said, dub to English.
Technically, the person who tightens up the English translation is familiar with VWD. And ideally also the same English speaker in case of dubbing. Which incidentally, sounds like one of the beta-testers?
More subjectively, as a visual person I actually prefer voiceless tutorials with well-timed captions (with very subtle music). So I feel well-translated English subtitles should suffice. So you could focus your energy on making more tut videos!

Many works on the new version.
This new version will contain :
- The "A" touch works as before with lines with the same color as the actor.
- The "H" touch shows black lines on the mesh. The mesh keeps its color. Each actor has its Hiddenline shader.
- The scene uses now a double size lighting. This allows to see the inside and the outside of an actor with the same way.
- The new spring generation seems to work correctly. The number of strings is divided by two or a bit more. The results seem more fluid.
- The "Nail to collision" has been rewritten and don't generate the stress it generated before.
- The interface has now two colors: a light color and a dark color.
- All the parameters are saved when the program close and are restored when the program starts. A button allows to restore the default parameters.
Currently, it exists a problem with the SubD for the Daz Version. With Philemot, we have to work on that.
I don't know if the test of the Daz Studio version goes on. It will stay some modifications to do but I hope you will appreciate these ones.
When the Daz Studio version will be on sale at Renderosity, I will set the price of VWD to 59$. I will keep the price of the Lite version at its previous price.
The 3 versions of this release will be on Renderosity at the end of the week. The persons who have bought VWD directly will receive the full version in the next days.
Thank you for the improvements. Looking forward to Daz Studio version.

The new color scheme is a HUGE improvement! Happy! Thanks much!
The 'ticked X' and selected 'Dot' could be a tad brighter to be more obvious.
Deep navy on grey is nice handsome choice. Personally I would desaturate it slightly but that's just me being nit picky.
As much as I'm very eager to try VWD + bridges out (esp with DS) I totally get the challenges (and your love for the babies) so take your time!
