Hmmmm, but a scrap file from where Erlik? Is it from x2000's computer do you mean? I wish I understood these things a bit better, I just let VET take care of my side of things...

Here is a quote from Frank Zappa from his "The Real Frank Zappa Book" that may be relevant here.....maybe this is sort of out of left field, maybe not...BTW - it has the SH#* word in it so read no further if you are likely to be offended!
"The most important thing in art is The Frame. For painting literally; for other arts: figuratively - because, without this humble appliance, you can't know where The Art stops and The Real World begins.
You have to put a 'box' around it because otherwise, what is that shit on the wall?
If John Cage, for instance, says, "I'm putting a contact microphone on my throat, and I'm going to drink carrot juice, and that's my composition," then his gurgling qualifies as his composition because he put a frame around it and said so. "Take it or leave it, I now will this to be music." After that it's a matter of taste. Without the frame-as-announced, it's just a guy swallowing carrot juice." ~ Frank Zappa
Regarding the statement "This was supposed to be a legitamate(sic) art site and its not Its more a trash can full of artwork" hmmm...who determines what is a legitimate artwork huh? Well, that's why I included the quote above.
Opinions about artistic merit are like assh*les, everybody has got one. It is all subjective. For anyone to say they know what is "good" art or "bad" art sounds a bit elitist to me...If someone wants constructive critique about how to render something better or get such and such an effect or look in an image, great, that's what the comments are for. If people get antsy when they receive constructive feedback, then they are being too sensitive and probably shouldn't allow comments.
However if people troll in comments, with no constructive feedback as content, then this is against the TOS and should be reported to a mod or admin so it can be looked into. Out and out harassment such as mentioned above and threats of hacking are serious, as pushinfaders says these incidents will be regarded and dealt with seriously. As for the HOT 20 and votes etc, well - popularity is popularity, it follows no artistic guidlines or criteria and I don't see how it ever could, it's just what people like and vote for (if they take the time) ~ like voting for politicians it doesn't attribute any particular values to what (or who) is being voted for (ie. good, bad, honest, dishonest), it's a just a poll for heavens sake...

Thread: How long does it take? | Forum: Community Center
In normal site operation, when you upload a gallery image (limit of one a day) It should be visible in the gallery straight away! Try refreshing your gallery page, or if that fails, try logging-out then log back in again.
I hope this helps...

Thread: About Catharina Przezak... | Forum: Community Center
No, no...don't take it that way (but if you insist, forgiveness is granted lol)...I just mean, is it more appropriate for the Poser Forum or something where it would help more people who it is relevant to? Tell me and I could move it, except I probably wont right now as I'm going to bed and I'll probably miss your answer...:-)>

Excuse me for asking, but I was under the impression that "this forum serves by assisting members with Renderosity issues such as FAQs, updates, ideas, improvements, events, navigation, feature use, and general site questions." Does this thread belong here? How is this question related to the concerns stated above?

But Donald, the more dpi in an image, the larger the file size. I am willing to accept all that you say about screens and dpi, but when it comes to upoading images their file size does influence uipload time (and I'm on dial-up so it makes a biog differnce to me when browsing the galleries) ~ btw, curious minds wish to know, on which monitors can you tell the differences between an image at 100dpi and 300dpi (as an example) ~ because I want one! (grumbling ...it'll probably be one of those MacIntosh huge LCD screens, I suppose - not compatible with my system or budget! LOL) :-)>

72 dpi is the best resolution the human eye will be able to resolve from most monitors, so any larger dpi setting is wasted for posting on the web. A lot of people have 17" or larger monitors set to 1024 X 768 resolution, but there are always a few who haven't. I usually restrict the width of my images to 800px and try and limit height to 600px to minimize scrolling that online viewers would have to do (providing of course, that anyone actually views any of my stuff chuckle)
What program(s) are you using? Photoshop has the "save for the web" option that gives you a fair degree of control over minimising your file sizes for upload, where you can balance optimised/smaller file sizes against the inevitable jpg artifacting and loss of detail that occurs with a great deal of image compression. I hope this helps...umm, what was the question again?
