I think the lower one is better. Somehow the brighter and more yellow light makes it more magical. Nice scene you have... maybe a moon or stars would do good?

Quote - I just payed a visit to the galleries and saw an image in the bryce-category. It was a posed nude vickie with a preset sky and water. I guess that SOW is now replaced by VIW (vickie in water). Anyway, it got over 50 comments. With that much attention it may take time to develop any further in the choice of motives.
I just saw it too and I really can't understand the number of comments?? And how someone can use words like just amazing or outstanding art etc... beautiful it is and surely deserves some attention but too much is too much because it has so little to do with Bryce.

Interesting topic and I would like to bring in some newbie view:) I've been member since May 2006 and posted some 40 images within year and those are all I've ever done in Bryce. I've abandoned only few projects and left unpublished so my gallery shows very well my whole Bryce career from its very beginning. I'm now in point where I've found my own style and I can create realms and scenes that really satisfy myself. Few things have make me wonder in this time: 1. People who upload pictures almost every single day.. how's that ever possible?? I spent at least some ten hours with one image and always after the image is ready I'm very exhausted:) It took always some time to find energy and right moment to start a new project. 2. People who doesn't make any progress in their skills.. To me every new scene is at the same time opportunity to learn something new. For example in my latest pic I really wanted to have nice sewer mist effect and it took a great effort to create it in the way I imagined it. And texture study is always present in every pic:) But many users upload image after image which looks pretty much same or seems that they haven't spent any time with them. If someones 50. bryce pic looks like it could be done in 15 minutes and it gets comments like "amazing art" or so thats little odd. Well people are different and each has his/her own way and style to create art and I appreciate everyone here.. I just have wondered those things:) I'm more than grateful of finding and joining Renderosity and everyones positive feedback here. This really has opened whole new world to me:)

In Finland we have very strict gun control system.... and we don't have that kind of insane mass murdering cases. Usually shooting and murdering happens between two people in their home, not in streets or public places and never in schools. And I definetely don't want that students or any civilians here carry guns... that would be very scary.
What comes to US situation... I don't know which way is better.
prayers to all involved!

Nice website AS... I agree with black and dark coloring! I used those colors on my website too:) I don't have much experience of programming and so.. but I created my layout in Photoshop and then when it was ready I sliced it in ImageReady which created straight html code for each slice. So they are like tables and all I had to do was to change the code so that the sliced images are backgrounds for every table. Damn I dont't know how to explain in my english skills:) Maybe you want to check the code for yourself: http://kotisivu.dnainternet.fi/antranta/index.html By the way I created a showreel of my latest works in Flash yesterday. I kind a like the idea of it and I'll concentrate on improving it someday.Thread: Learning which program next? | Forum: Bryce
Thanks Dann... to your questions: No, I'm not going to pirate the software and I definately know what piratism does. It's just that I can find those prices easily myself and was more interesting to hear things I mentioned in my first message. Sure I won't pay $7000 for Maya for myself but for example what if one school I'm right now applying to get in teaches Maya and other one Cinema? And of course I have some money to put to this hobby. Sorry if I wasn't very clear.. Yes I have Wings though haven't used it at all... I think I'm more interested in creating almost the whole scene and not just the modelling part. And I'm a PC- user:)

I got my first commission yesterday and it totally surprised me! Some Finnish group have been doing a serious mod to Pc roleplaying game Neverwinter Nights and they asked me to join their artist team:) There's no money involved but I'm nevertheless very excited about this... so interesting fantasy subject. Very interesting and versatile works you have done. Those really shows that only your own imagination is the limit:)

Nice work with this scene! I would like to see this much more darker and shadowy with some warm and yellow light source there in the middle.. maybe a candle or so:) But good work!

to Orbital: well you're definetely the right choice to that "space" thing:) You're one of the very bests!!! Quite an adventure ahead of you especially when thinking from where it all have begun: from a computer program:) By the way how they chose you? I know you have quite a reputation but was there some sort of contest or through some magazine or how? I'm just curious:) And please tell us then how was it:)

Good replies... very informative ones. Many thanks! I haven't really dreamed of making any real money with my Bryce art, but you'll never know what years of training will do:) I have to admit that recently the idea of being poker pro than professional artist has been much more interesting and fascinating idea:) Damn was the LOTR part just a rumor... our animation course teacher who introduced Bryce for the first time was pretty convincing when telling that:) I can't recall was it just about those mountains... but he said there are 3 programs that had really blown his mind off and those were Excel, Flash and Bryce:D Good point that basically whatever can be printed out:) I think the key point is that you should have a lot of contacts and if you don't... all the time try making such. For example here in Finland it seems to be quite rare that someone even finds your Bryce works so you just have to be initiative yourself.

Nice work you all and congratulations for winners! See you in the next contest... though I'm not sure if my laptop wants to render full screen of glass and reflections:) And maybe I don't have heart to torture it like that...
