I'm using Poser 2012.. the Nanette was recommended by someone to try out..
Shaders, nodes etc are things I'm still reading and trying to learn about.

The text bubbles are supper easy to add through photoshop. I take my png saved renders to photoshop to repair clothing tears etc and add the text bubbles and story lines and then add the site logo/URL..
Text bubbles are created with layers.. one for the bubble, another for the triangle pointing to the speaker using first the oval lasso and then the polygon lasso. These are filled in with white colour with the paint bucket..
Your first layer is your image, then you create your layers for text.. Go back and create two new layers just above the image layer, below the text layer. Say you have just the one text bubble, you'll end up with a total of 4 layers (base image, bubble, triangle and text. Once you have the layers, you make the base and text layers invisable, and merge the bubble and triangle layers (merge visable layers). Then add a stroke to the merged layer, "inside, 2 pixels" for example and then make the base and text layers visable again.. flatten the layers (merging them all) and save as image format of your choice..
If you would like more detailed information, drop me a line and I can walk you through it.. simple enough to do.. once you figure it out.
Cheers

Yes, I installed SR1 one immidiately after installing Poser 2012 and then re-installed it just recently as part of trouble shooting but it had little effect.. While yesterday the system worked rather well, late last night it went back to dog mess and made it less productive..
The search continues..

Alrighty then, I found the SreeD vice OpenGL setting in the preview menu under "Render Settings" and though it's somewhat better, there is a 3 second lag between render and going back to the preview screen..
But unfortunately, for me that won't work as the preview of the models is horrible.. my gosh! They look like shiny bronze statues with lots of over-exposed looking surfaces that doesn't give you enough of a hint of what your rendered lighting will look like.. By the time I go do a fast render to check out the lighting, make adjustments, try it again and then go do the final render, I spent more time than waiting for the glitched render to preview screen nuissance.. ergh.. Close, but not not close enough for me as a work around the issues plaguing my set up..
I like the real time preview scene as I'm setting things up, I can get a real good look at what everything will look like when I do a high quality ray traced render.. I have a high PC system but I think it's the vid card that's causing the problem.. argh..
Thanks again though for the insight to SreeD option..
Cheers

You'll have to explain to me what "Sreed" is and where I can locate it to make the fix?
Are there any limitations or slow downs using Sreed vice OpenGL?
I'm hazarding a quess its in the preferences or settings somewhere?
MANY thanks!! =)

Thank you for the feedback.. I just finished a 41 image run with Poser 2012 and for the most part, the software worked relatively well.. it didn't do any of the lagging between the render and preview screen but i did not that if the library window was above the screen while looking for props etc and then I closed it, ONLY what was under the library window shows changes when I move the scene around.. the remain of the scene stays static for about 10-15 secs and then it works ok where the whole scene is now active.. Just a little bit more annoying to add on top of more annoying lol.. gees. That happens about 25% of the time while working on scenes..
I also do some gaming where the AMD 6970 2G works well at.. nice and cool and quiet.. but I'm now spending more time with Poser and starting to not like that card, if that card is what is causing all the problems..
Cheers

Gah, unfortunately the problem persists but at least its down to less than 10-20 seconds from render to preview screen.. I wish I could get it back to normal again as I'm doing story lines, which though not overly complex, still gets tedious waiting for the screen to be active again..
If I were to 'reinstall' the patch, it shouldn't do any harm, would it? Perhaps something got munged in the initial install of the patch?
I'm also starting to wonder if the problem does lie with the ATI 6950 card as sometimes, when in preview, I end up with a small patch of updated view while the larger part of the preview screen doesn't change at all until I minimize and re-maximize the screen to show the new view? If I do a pic capture or a render, the whole image is saved as it was changed, so it's hard to show you what I'm refering to with this problem.. I'll try a screen capture and see if anyone encountered this before and might be able to shed some light on what I'm experiencing?
Cheers

Follow up:
I took Bantha's advice about turning the hardware shaders off in the render settings but though I didn't like the preview look, at least it worked better than it did before.. but something went awry and Poser wouldn't render anymore.. huh? click Render and nothing happens. So I loaded a previous preset (final quality, raytracing on etc) and boom.. the software ran so fast and smooth for the last 3 hours I couldn't believe it.. wow, now that was fun.. almost as if turning off the hardware shaders and turning them back on kicked the fault in the pants and got things running properly again.. (but honestly don't know what was wrong or if it will come back again, time will tell when I get back to work on it tomorrow)
Gotta like it.. with Poser 2012 running and rendering, I had yahoo voice chat on as I'm working on a project with a friend from across the continent, then photoshopping some of the images, building them into Dreamweaver for the web page project and then ftp them up to the server for testing.. and Poser didn't lag, hesitate or falter.
Colour me impressed.
thank you all for your comments. Much appreciated!

I gave your suggestion a try and I think it might be a fix or work around to the problem, but it makes the posing of the lighting (for shadows and highlights) a lot more difficult.. But thus far it seems to be working.. I'll report back after tonight's session as the longer I work at it the more the lag extends..
Thanks for the tip!

Quote - hey, with 2012, does making a liberry selection NOT bring you back to preview?
I hate that about 2010.
It does but that's not the issue I'm having.. If I do a render and see something that needs to be changed, and go to the preview window (screen), the program 'hangs' for a minute or so before I can do anything.
