I'm not sure, but I THINK someone here attempted to e-mail me with a MacInstaller question. At any rate, the mail was deleted accidentally. Please write me at mrwhistler@excite.com and I'll be glad to respond. BTW...the address I'm listed under is my work address, which I really can't use for e-mail anyway. I plan to let my membership expire and then re-enroll using my personal e-mail instead. Sorry about the confusion.

Of course I'm bragging! Don't you guys recognize IRONY? All the same, platform and configuration are EVERYTHING in such a discussion and would have been essential information at any rate. However, I refuse to participate in a platform war. I have chosen the machine that is right for me, as has each of you. Somebody here sounds as though he didn't get a marshmallow in his cocoa this morning. ;-) I have tried MacInstaller and it did some VERY strange things which I had to undo. But I'll give it another try, and thanks. Bill Gates is the Devil. Ooops! Did I say that?

Thanks for the note! I don't mean to brag, but I just HAPPEN to have a DVD burner built into my system, and each disk holds about 3 gigs. We will now pause for a moment of silence as you all reflect upon how seriously cool my computer is.

Well, the textures are certainly my main concern, as poses and props use up very little memory. So perhaps I can work this out. I asked this question because I'm a LightWave user. If you file anything improperly in LightWave, they send somebody to your house to shoot out your porch light. Just wondering if the Poser folks were equally unreasonable.

Yes, but WHERE is the doggone thing? Raydream support seems to have vanished along with the program!

Thread: Excuse Me? People DON'T like Victoria? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I'll grant that the clothes leave much to be desired as far as functionality is concerned. This is probably one reason (aside from the obvious one) why she is nude in most people's work. All the same, the use of the nude is hardly common for commercial purposes, and Zygote's inability to really solve the clothing problem prevents Victoria from having as many mainstream, money-making uses as she might have. I'm surprised that people think her unattractive. All the women I've shown her to have immediately registered two complaints: her breasts are too large, and she looks too much like a fashion model. They want her LESS pretty. I have found one commercial application for her, but the WOMAN overseeing the project is concerned that her use might project an overtly sexual tone which is inappropriate for the job. So the women who see her seem to think exactly the opposite of what the men think! For me, it all comes down to added realism in the hands and (especially) the face. I've collected so many morph targets that there is almost nothing I can't make her face accomplish, and that's a HUGE advance. And I've made her breasts considerably smaller, though not to suit my own taste!

Ah, that's it! Thanks! However, I'm having trouble EXPORTING the darn body parts individually, which is why I'm using the pre-exported morph targets to begin with. I'll work on that one! Still, I'm VERY relieved to learn that there's no problem with either of my programs!

Whew! Well, I've gotten it right a few times and saved the results, so I guess I'm safe! All the same, I must say that it's hard to improve on the default textures. The thing I like best (aside from those wonderful hands) is the little patch of red suntan above the breastbone. Absolutely perfect! Anyway, thanks to you all!

Well, now...THAT'S an answer! I will follow your instructions to the letter, O Wise One. As it happens, I already have Amorphium and have had more success with importing Poser obj files into that program than into LightWave, which OUGHT to be able to read them without errors. I open them in Amorphium, then export them into the LW format. As always, though, the problem is importing only the necessary part of the larger model. Again, many thanks for such a detailed and (I'm certain) informed response.
