I would say that on the basis of the renders here, that is more true of Vicky than Sydney. Two of the Sydney renders here are mine though - and the look in them is my style moreso than Sydney in particular.
My only Vicky 4 is here.
And the only reason I don't post it here is that there are already too many Vicky renders in a thread that was supposed to be about comparing. You can't compare when only one is getting most of the posting.

Quote - Deleting V4 with Undo set to 100 = 8 seconds
Deleting V4 with Undo set to 10 = 8 secondsThere's no difference at all!ย :(
This doesn't surprise me, though the logical answer would be disappointing. As long as there is one undo available, every delete means Poser first has to record everything about the present state. You will therefore -probably- not see notable gain until you try having no undos available.
One more suggest. Switch Preview mode away from using OpenGL. OpenGL is a resource hog on your graphics card and ram... and the benefits are only going to be seen by a select minority of the community - people who make textures and want to see the results without having to hit render.
Heck, I often work in wireframe or cartoon with lines.
For the curious, my specs:
1.79 Ghz AMD 2200+
2.5 GB Ram
geForce 440 MMX 128MB
8.79GB free C drive. 2GB Page file
75.1 GB Free on Poser drive
My performance in Poser 7 is moderately decent.

Thread: would you shop at CP again | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - They usually arrive the dayย AFTER I've spent though [LOL], But not this time :-))
That's funny.
They were so well timed to my shopping that I used to think they came as a result of me buying something...
Of course, that meant I almost never was able to use them... They'd arrive after my budget was used up.

Thread: would you shop at CP again | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Contrary point:
The Poser 7 experience has boosted my interest in shopping at CP.
In my opinion. the shopping process at the site is very easy to use. I've found the staff accessible, interested in addressing my concerns, and willing to take measures to address not just their goofs, but my goofs as well.
I also understand the concept of a reasonable delay in getting things done. Reality doesn't deliver instant gratification - sometimes a little patience goes a long way.
Formerly I had a lot of comments about things such as the pricing of models like Miki and Apollo Maximus. AM is now gone and in my opinion, no loss. Miki is an easy and cheap grab for people who get into the Passport Club or got P6CE.
I still feel Passport Club could do well with monthly pricing - when the 6 months are up I might not be able to renew simply because of a limited budget. I pay monthly at Daz, even though it is more expensive to do so, because its easier to manage.
Yes there are people with order problems. There's a large rollout from a small operation to a large community that is very active online. Every problem gets aired in public. Some of the problem, such as the comments about slow physical shipments, are simply lack of proper patience. Some are user error in downloading (using wireless, having a virus, etc), such as the poster in this thread who admitted to using a download accelerator. Some are slips on CP's end, and some are due to the nature of internet traffic priorities, ISPs, and so on.
But overall, I'm gaining a positive impression, especially with regards to the public face they put on their efforts to deal with the problems, even in the face of some users who are less than polite over the problems.
I had problems in the first stages of my order - but I noticed them myself right after pre-ordering because the first thing I do when I order is go back and read everything and make sure I did it right. And I discovered I had not, and then contacted them. It took a few days, but I find thet quick, given the scale of the rollout. Even under normal business that level of time would be normal rather than slow.
They were very polite with me, very helpful, and that is how I see them reacting to others as well. I was polite with them, but some haven't been so - and yet they keep it professional.
So, overall, I'm gaining a positive opinion of CP.

Make sure to check the properties of all your lights to be sure they have cast shadows disabled.
My problem has often been the opposite of yours - not getting the shadows I wanted and having to make sure I turned shadows on with the various lights.

Go into preferences and reduce the number of undos.
That should speed up several functions.
By different it remembers the last 100 things you did. If that includes adding and deleting props and figures - it has to remember what was added and deleted. If it includes making morphs... well, you're going to be shooting your Ram out the window on that one...
I'm still at 100, but I've read that people are getting improvements from cutting it down, and plan to try it myself tomorrow.

Thread: Perfectly Centered Nudes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - poser users range in age from teens to probably nonagenarians. if ya see a bad render in the gallery here, it's actually more likely it was produced by someone nearer the mean user age (~38).
So young people put their figure to the left, and older people to the right? Unless they're Arabic or Japanese, in which case they do it in reverse? And Chinese artists who are young put it at the top, but if old at the bottom?

Thread: Wardrobe Wizard for Sydney? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Content Advisory! This message contains nudity
'BlackLotus' from Aery Soul, converted in Wardrobe Wizard within Poser 7 to Vicky 4.The character was my own design. It will be in my renderosity gallery tomorrow (if I put it there tonight, all of three people will ever see it...).
For the shoes, I imported the obj, loaded in a nude version of my character, scaled and positioned, deleted my character, moved to setup room, applied the bones of Vicky 4 to the shoes, applied 'auto group', went back to pose room, and saved to library...
And for some reason even after that when I conformed them to my character, they moved into the wrong position - moving a bit to the center... So I de-conformed them, manually posed them, and then parented them to my character so that as I moved her about they would follow... (but I kept them as conforming clothes to get 'bend' in the toes...
As for the gloves... nightmare there, some of which is hidden by the axe. The thumb went all over the place when I tried to manually reshape that part.
The arms and legging have props parented to them, the metal plates - I converted those in Wardrobe Wizard separate from the clothing under-neath, and then reparented them...
WW isn't a 'Make Art' item (even though it has a 'Make Art' button hidden in the utilities), but it is a stepping stone...
As for the snow on the ground, neither WW nor Poser 7 has a 'fix low rez texture' button... and I didn't notice it until after the render was mostly done as I used the hour long render time to take a show and roast some coffee beans... :)

Shoes yes, gloves no. But if you convert advanced - unwelded unregrouped you can partially do a glove, and then magnet and JP-edit the rest. Not at all easy, but possible.
Shoes work, but some of them have unpreditable results.
It is almost easier to load in the obj file for the shoe - scale and magnet it, and then go into setup room and add bones yourself.
I've got a render on the way of what I was doing to test WW for P7 - and I did the shoes by hand from an obj import rather than go through WW.

Isn't Clothes Converter also limited to Daz major figures only? Whereas WW supports all the common Daz and all the P4-7 base figures, plus a few oddballs?

Redhawk beat me to the punch...
90% of the readme's I've been given has gone the way of getting overwritten because the distributor couldn't bother to name them uniquely.
Don't just name it uniquely, name it appropriately.
I suggest:
yourname_packagename_readme.txt
(or .html or .pdf)
That will make it instantly findable.
'yourname' should also be the name of the folder in geometries and textures - thus adding a further connectability:
Runtimegeometriesyourname (.obj files)
Runtimetexturesyourname (.bum, .jpg files)
RuntimeLibrariesposes (.pz2 and .png files)
RuntimeLibrariesProps (.pp2 and .png files)
If I remember, I rename individual items to add 'artistname' at the beginning:
'yourname_coolskirt.pp2'
Further sorting is by preference.
I sort my items in props and figure by the model they go to, but others do it differently. However, as long as I'm on a path:
RuntimeLibrariesposesV4MAT_clothing (.pz2 and .png files)
RuntimeLibrariesposesV4Poses (.pz2 and .png files)
RuntimeLibrariesPropsV4dynamic (.pp2 and .png files)
RuntimeLibrariesCharactersV4bottoms (.pp2 and .png files)
RuntimeLibrariesCharactersV4tops (.pp2 and .png files)
etc...
By the way, I made a post like this in 1999 or 2000. Nobody paid attention to me then, I suspect nobody will now, and I will keep overwriting readmes and forgetting who made what...
