Ahhhhhhhhh!!!! Bricks is Eric Winemiller's, who is the head honcho over at www.digitalcarversguild.com . I do have free shaders available also, one is a new procedural wood shader, and the other is a comprehensive noise shader, check them out at www.losthorizonsoftware.com Brian P. Thread: LHS Power Pack question | Forum: Carrara
I usually check this board every day, but I was really busy last week. Thanks for covering for me Eric! Shawn, I am thinking about writing up a complete tutorial on using the morph targets, as I've had a couple of questions about them. Brian P. Retford www.losthorizonsoftware.com

I love the movie! Very good, though I must say I really liked fight club, too. Great parody though. The lighting is great and the ground texture looks excellent.

Procedural textures are usually the best way to go for terrain. Make sure you get the free shaders at www.digitalcarversguild.com, the elevation and slope shaders are very useful for terrain. Also, get my free shader package at www.losthorizonsoftware.com, the free Noise shader is great for landscapes (Eric's pack has a noise shader also, but I prefer mine as it has many more options) The picture above was made using them. The blades of grass in the picture were created by placing several finite planes and using the spike deformer. On a side note, the clouds were created using the 4D volumetric clouds that come with my commercial package, the Carrara Power Pack. Hope this helps. Brian P. Awesome Ghost, looks great. The lighting and the stance of the marine are great. Try using volumetric clouds instead of fog if you still can't get it to show up - I think it would look great. Brian Retford www.losthorizonsoftware.com

Ahh Jeff, that would work, I see what you are trying to do. I thought you wanted a whole Poser inside RDS like the RDS/Poser patch - this task seems very hard. However, importing a poser file and using key frames probably isn't that as bad, good luck! If you need any help, feel free to ask.

Jeff, Morph Targets are easy to do! My morph target plug-in pretty much emulates Poser mt's. It was a relatively easy process. I too would love a Poser plug-in, the major problem the way I see it is emulating the Poser 'bone' system. In order to make a poser plug-in, as far as I can tell, one would almost need access to the Poser source code. This and reading in the cr2 format AND the pz4 format would be the hard part, IMHO. If Larry wanted to provide one of us with the source code(yeah, right....) Brian Retford Carrara Extensions www.losthorizonsoftware.com

Rocks like this are easy to create in Carrara! Just go into the vertex modeller, insert the default sphere, only with more polygons. Then pick the magnet tool and deform the sphere. Really easy, really fast. To get the variation form rock to rock (the three are identical duplicates) I applied Noise Deform (a plug-in included in the Carrara Power Pack). Of course this step is optional, but I find Noise Deform to be very useful for creating quick, random variations. Brian Retford Carrara Extensions www.losthorizonsoftware.com

Hey - it looks great! Is the oversampling set to best for this render? If not - make sure you set it to best. If so, the Carrara dev team is hopefully going to add support for better oversampling. Carrara produces much higher qual pics than RDS, but someitmes the jaggies hit pretty hard. Brian P. Retford Carrara Extensions www.losthorizonsoftware.com

Lookin good, on the floor (I know it's a preset), change the noise factories in the wood mixer from 'no interpolation' to cosine or linear. Then, play around with the scaling in each dimension - it will look alot better. I meant to update the package with the new preset, but I haven't done it yet.
