@hedheld - I, too, struggle with camera/light placement, and your solution makes sense. However, you lost me when you say "now parent lights to camera and use a track to constraint from cam to empty." I see what you are driving at, but don't get the part about the "track to constraint." Is this accomplished in the constraint panel, and if so, what would the settings be? I am assuming that moving the empty also moves the camera and lamp. Correct me if I'm wrong...
TIA

Guess I am not understanding you. The tool shelf is called by the letter "t" and shows what is available. To review the undo history, click "alt" "ctrl" "z" all at once and you will see the undo history and can go back in time to where you may be able to recover your mistakes. Note that if you have recently saved the file it will erase the undo history. It would be helpful to know what version of Blender you are using and what nistakes you are trying to undo. I would then have a better grasp of the situation.

The Blender toolbar in both edit and object mode can be called using the hotkey "t". I completed that tutprial some time ago, and it was a toughie, mainly because I find the instructors at Blender Cookie often make mistakes or do not call out what they are doing. It is best to watch the screencast keys in the bottom left to get a good idea of what is going on. I find also that the instructors talk way too fast, especially Jonathon. I don't know how many times I have rerun most of his videos to try to interpret what in heck he is trying to say or do, I've also caught him making mistakes - in completing the Blender tutorial for creating a barrel, he saves the file and says "click ctrl W" instead of "ctrl S." I was a member at Blender Cookie for about a year but canceled recently because I was having so many issues with the tutorials due to these reasons. To each his own...

Really like these. Your pants look very realistic. I especially like the way you have the folds and creases in the pants leg. I am struggling to learn how to do this. I work in Blender 2.69, and it has many options. I'm very curious to know how you accomplished this. Mind sharing?

Thread: Rendering in Cycles | Forum: Blender
@heddheld & @Lobo3433 - Thanks for the feedback. It appears my vid card just won't cut it w/ Cycles. Good to know. I have had it for 7 or 8 years and recently swapped it into my main CPU from an older model. Looks to me I am needing to look for a new card. A quick look on Newegg tells me I am going to have to save up a few pennies to be able to afford one. Prices are pretty high!
Thanks, guys!

Thread: A Shrinkwrap Modifier Question | Forum: Blender
Helpful info - many thanks. BTW, CTRL P is used to parent two objects together. Try using CTRL V, which is the Widows paste function. I am currently modeling an M4 rifle and it makes use of the shrinkwrap modifier in building a barrel component so I need all the info I can get. I know how the function works, but for me to really understand I need to know "why."

Thread: Bryce 7.5 and Poser Pro 2014? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I use Bryce 7.1 Pro in combination with Daz Studio 4.6 Public Beta. I pose my figures in Daz, click a button and the files are immediately sent to Bryce. I know how much people dislike Daz, but it saves me a ton of work with no converting, no messing w/ .obj files and no worries about whether or not things will transfer correctly. It makes only good sense to use this combination. Neither of the apps cost me one red cent, and I can get some pretty decent results using the combo to create. I especially like the sky lab in Bryce.
To be honest, I struggled w/ Daz for years due to the content library being such an ungodly mess to try to deal with. I have it sorted out now, especially with the latest release of Daz. I find little use for Poser any longer. It all depends on how simple you wish your workflow to be. I'll be posting several images this week so you can see what I mean. It is the end results that are important, not how you get there.

Thread: Missing Resource in Blender 2.67 | Forum: Blender
@BardicHeart  - thanks so much for your input. It is now as it should be. There was no mention that I am aware of about rendering this in Cycles, but obviously that is the case. I am using an HDRI for environmental lighting. Your input spot on and much appreciated!

Thread: Product Reviews | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I agonize over everything I create. I'm my own worst critic. It has been my experience on Rendo that people always tend to tell an artist how great or fabulous an image or product is, even when it leaves a great deal to be desired. This is not useful to ANYONE. I think people do this just by rote, always fearful of pissing off the artist or vendor. This does no good for the vendor or the end user. If I feel something is great, I don't hesitate to say so, but if something really sucks (and I have seen this, especially in the galleries) I tend to keep this to myself. Chris mentions the fact that we are only connected by a computer screen, and unless you are some kind of troll, I think that much goes unsaid. Don't get me wrong - there are some great artists and vendors whose work is amazing to me, and which I try to emulate. I've spent the past year learning to model in Blender, and would be ashamed to present anything I have modeled for sale or even as a freebie. It is rare for me to see any good feedback on just about everything, and that is just too bad as far as I am concerned. Chris also mentions that we tend to work alone, and feedback from peers is most valuable. I oftem wonder what goes through some people's minds when they see something that just isn't right...
