Me too. I do what I feel like. I usually use gaussion blur...but I do recall using motion blur one or twice resulting in surperior results. I remember there was some motion blur on my part when taking the pictures so that helped...but to rememember what angle?...not. I just moved the thang around till it looked right.

I have Panasonic FZ20...very nice pics. Then I got a Konica-Minolta 5D SLR. Both cams hava anti-shake..built in so no special lens required...cool feature. My Minolta has a bigger CCD...much bigger than the Panasonic. This allows for larger censors that capture more light/greater tonal range/color...much better ;-) It is obvious when comparing similar photos...With SLR I have learned...a nice lens makes a big difference. I recently got a nice 100 mm Macro for the Minolta. Amazing how much sharper it is than kit zoom lens at equivelant focal length. Kit lens works well though...Many benifits of SLR...faster, many more accesories.....:-) I still don't know how to use my SLR as well as I would like to...but I realize it is very capable...and I do know enough that I feel comfortable recommending an slr as opposed to advanced compact.

I am not expert when it comes to working w/RAW files, but I have noticed something in Adobe Camera RAW that seems to help w/extra noise for those high iso photos. It is in the detail tab of Camera RAW. There are three settings there...Sharpness, Luminence Smoothing, and Color Noise Reduction. When I am presented w/a noisy image I have discovered that cranking the Luminence smoothing slider ualmost always helps reduce noise. I usually crank it almost all the way to the right hand side for significantly noisy pics. It does work wonders for noise reduction. Movig the the Color Noise slider to the right will get rid of color bleeding around edges...I move these sliers around a bit till I get what looks best. If you loook close you will see this work...may have to zoom in. I generally move the Sharpen to the far left. I usually do work on this tab after making adjustments in the adjust tab.

"Be cautious though...poor processing of that RAW image could result in quality poorer than that done by the cam!!!!"..I do indeed know that feeling...lol, but I think I'm making progress. Best way to learn is to do it/experiment...and of course communicating w/others like here in the forum, and reading about it is invaluable. :-)

At this point I would probably get the Spyder...I mean the Spyder2. I have read a few reviews and the Spyder seems the better product. At B&H Photo it is the same price as the Huey and the new and improved Spyder2 is 150 U.S. dollars. Most importantly "Spyder" sounds more cool than "Huey."
