This work is beautiful, and Star is really right that dealing with scanning is just lovable..!!I also have used transparency adapter several times to provide back-lighting, and the link above leads anyone interested to a work of mine as such...
Nowadays, I'm searching for high quality flatbed scanners with like 2400x4800 ppi resolution powers.
Epson and Canon has some models wich maybe find in my country, but they are extremely expensive for me to afford for the time being.
My primary objective for having such a scanner is to be able to scan rather tiny shells, pebbles, seeds, insects, etc. ...
...To use the scanner for, say, 'microscanography', and magnify those tiny worlds.
I think it was in the May or June issue of National Geographic that an artist was introduced for his 'macro-scans' of various types of moths...
...Was magnificient..!
If I find the link, I'll post it also.
Anybody having such powerful scanner and would like to try such experiments..?
Would be exciting to view...
Thanks Michelle, for making my 'imaging' passions wake up..! :-)

The fourth one is a great close-up, and the last one is a great texture photo with a poorly lonesome and near-whole cigarette squeezed in the crack of a brick closer to the right side of the photo...
...Or, is it not a cigarette..?
But looks so much like one... :-)
Thread: Waiting | Forum: Photography
Very long time and no contribution of any kind from me...
How have you all been..?
Dear Michelle, I hope you were waiting in the hospital for nothing serious as a health issue.
If so, I hope it's all OK after all the wait...
As for the shots here, my favourite is the second one..!
The TV looks annoyingly 'alive' and 'watching' in its own 'person', and the composition and the contrast just contribute to the awkwardness of the scene..!
The third one has an effective composition for sure, but I think its contrast is too harsh.
For the first one, I think the composition needs to be a little more relaxed on the sides...
..Perhaps, a little more panoramic.
All IMHO, as always, and best regards... :)

Lyrics reminded me the ones of Manowar..!
That Manowar also is a funny band somehow with their weirdly idealistic (or, better to say, fanatic) cacophony, and though I really find two of their albums (Kings of Metal and Fighting the World) highly listenable, I sometimes burst out laughing while reading their lyrics... :)
As for the image...
...Still another beautiful composite image with esp. the textures and the lighting haunting me..!

I know nothing more than the name of Fuji Velvia, but the "swan" photo and the colorful boat in the 3rd photo are very beautiful..! :)

Is it because of the postwork that it seems that this photo is shot with a fill-flash..? Anyway, a beautiful b/w picture, this is... :-)

This is a great banner..! Effectively simple, and the "camera eye" concept is very well executed. Beautiful..! :)
Thread: Duotones | Forum: Photography
At least for these particular images, my personal opinion is that the colored one is the better one...
The reason is possibly this: I do not remember seeing such a plant before, and thus the colored one seems to be a more "informative" image to me, regardless from the beautiful abstraction achieved in the photo.
Also, the original looks already like a duotone image.
Yet, I really like doutones and the tone that you achieved in the duotone version here is beautiful...
Thanks for the link, and I'm off to check it out...

I agree with everyone who commented: these are beautiful shots, esp. for the ones picturing the gargoyles..! Their graininess, textures, very beautiful and rather pastel colors are so effective...

Thanks for the responses, dear people..! :)Dear Cameron, you ask, and its my duty..! :))
You seem to have missed the thread that the link above will take you...
There, you'll be able to find a rather long and complicated explanation about this "slicing technique", though my intention was for a simpler and easily understandable one.
Hope it will be helpful...
BTW, in case that you may have missed my serial works under the name of "Sliced Revisits" (four of the them for the time being), you may like to check them in my gallery.
Once again, thanks for all the interest, and best regards... :)
Thread: More Rust.... | Forum: Photography
Fabulous rust, yes...
...But, is there also bits of smeared tar on the box, or are black patches the remains of black paint..?
Either way, bits of smerad tar or bits of remaining paint, they are right next to rust to cheer my "texture lover" side up..!
Beautiful picture, and Antoonio would love this for its design..!
:)

The link to the master work, the story, and all... Some of you may recall the master image (the actual "arachnoid") that led to the work that the link above leads you...This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
