Hello,
You can effectively use Hexagon to create everything you need for your poser scene.
If you have hexagon, you can download daz 4.5 and use the bridge to transfert your figure to hexagon.
Just be aware that each modeling program has it's own scale. If you want to do a morph and export a modified group (head for example), it has to be in poser scale (there is a special setting in daz in the obj export to perform it correctly) in order to load perfectly in poser. The second point is that for a morph, you do have to keep exactly the same number of vertices for a designed group in order to work.
There ares many tutorials on the web to explain it.
hope it helps.

Hello,
Just load ryan in Poser, then:
File/export/wavefront (obj)/select single frame/uncheck ground/ok and save in your folder.
Load in the silo scene, and it's done.
Hope it helps

You're welcome,
i had also a lot of modeling programs. Modeling was a pain...I learned with Fugazi's tutorials and bought Silo for this purpose. I agree, it is really friendly. Now, with some practice, i really enjoy modeling :-)

Hello,
In your scene, just select your entire model, select the object (the box icon), then, in poly mode, select all the "faces"(polys), then display your material tab, select the "default" material icon and click "apply". All your model should be back with the default material(be sure that there is no image declared in the texture path, if it's the case, erase it).
In the material tab, create a "new" material. You'll see a new name "material1". Replace by "leather" and press enter.
Then, in poly mode, select the face you want to be with your new "leather" material. When it's done, go to the material tab, select leather material and apply.
Now, only your selected faces sould be with the "leather" material.
For the material tab: Maybe in your default setting, there is a material map declared. So, everytime you try to make a new scene, this material appears as a default material.
Just go in your material tab, select default and in "texture", erase the path of your image map. Now, you should be able to see your new mesh again.
hope it helps
Thread: Programs for clothing and etc | Forum: 3D Modeling
Hello,
Modo is effectively a great program. Personnaly, i choose Silo, just to be in line with Fugazi's tutorials. Wanted to learn how to model my own stuff. Fugazi 1968 did a very great serie to learn how to model your own dress, pants, shoes, etc...
Already had 4 modeling programs, finally, Silo is a very good and affordable program. It also has tools for easy UVMapping.
Just a suggestion,
Hope it helps
Thread: Modelling Clothing for V4 Tutorials? | Forum: 3D Modeling
Hello,
Personnaly, modeling was a pain and i searched for a long time free tuts... without success
Finaly i turned to Fugazi1968 serie here at rendo, really worth the money!! They ares based on Silo (witch is affordable) and described functions ares the same in hexagon or other modeling software. It's really a step by step process going from box modelling to advanced modeling and detailling with a lot of tricks to go faster.
I did learn a lot and now, it's a pleasure to model.
There is another serie, very well done by LittleFox aviable on an other website, describing also very well the process.
Hope it helps
