Visible in raytracing/ properties?
yep, all checked. Strange heh

Good tip on the material zone, thanks! The export/import worked as you stated.
Funny thing is, I forgot, the original wasn't casting shadows nor showing up in render, and now the new obj isn't casting shadows either nor showing up in renders, I have every settings checked as it should... ??????? Strange, never had that happen. The hair I did yesterday casted shadows just fine, wonder what's going on here.

Yeah, as long as the resulting morphs are dialed in. They'll propagate as a default object state in the new object.
Thank friend! Ok, I just exported and imported, it worked... now when I imported at first, I had "percent of standard figure size" checked, with was 100%. It came out huge and on the ground... when I unchecked it, it was a little big and I had to make adjustmente (xyz scale & X scale).
Can you tell me exactly what I should have checked when doing both export and import? Also, how do you save as a smart prop? (I do know it has to be parented to the head)

Welding? If they don't have vertices at identical coordinates, No. Not within Poser. You need a modeler for that. You can File: export wavefront obj and select both props and export. If you import that it will be a single obj. How this obj is grouped depends on your export setting choices. If you just export those 2 objects with 'include existing groups' unchecked it will result in a single .obj read as a single group.
Ok, this one makes sense, and yes it's the dynamic hair I created. See, she looks bold with only one of them, and what I want to do is load 4 or 5, moving them slightly around to make her hair look full.
I'm gonna try that. Can you export the object after you edit them with magnets?

I was begging for someone to make a dynamic hair plugin for Poser in another thread just today ;).
Laurie
Man wouldn't that be a good idea, but then if we turned hairs into dynamic hair, we have to watch the material zones, as far as I believe, the more material zones there are, the much... much longer it takes to calculate!

Ha, one of the tuts I was reading had other tuts to click and searched, found "how to make skullcaps", doing it now :)

ok so you're talking about making groups somewhere else besides the hair room (since the hair groups are auto separating)? If so, how do you do that? And how do you make a smart prop?
Thread: Dynamic hairs duplicate as 1 prop | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok, well when I learned how to do this yesterday, I created two groups, after creating the hairs, I was looking at props and found out they actually became two "props" under prop menu. First, how do you create separate groups without them becoming two separate props? Second, is there a way to weld the two groups? Also, Poser automatically names the material "hair" lol. A feel silly here haha!

Huh, why didn't I think of that? Is there a tut to make different material zones? Or is that simple too? LOL... had Poser for a few years now and I'm just starting to learn these things.

Thanks, Laurie! But hmm, ok, first I don't know how to make skull caps, much less make different material zones (but that's a good idea), secondly I don't know where to get one lol, are there any freebie skull caps flying around?

Thanks for the tip, Red!
I gave up waiting, so I went and played a few games of pool at the bar lol. I did have the number of vertices set to 30, as per the video I saw (I think he did set it to 30), and had the hair density set at 3000, which is why I believed it went very slow draping, but now that you mentioned the vertices... Don't think I'm gonna drape hair anymore, gonna just learn the magnets, and try the "Total Hair Control" (prop) and see if it works on dynamic hair.
Anyways, as you can see the second image (side view), she looks like she's loosing hair lol. I can see why dynamic hair is not popular at all, good Lord they take long! But because I love learning, I'm gonna play more.

Holy crap this is taking a long time, it's still draping (the blue length time thingy is about almost 1/3rd to finished), it's been 30 min so far, can't cancel cause window keep saying not responding. Gonna just let it ride & see if I can play more after draping.

Aha! Ok, now I get it lol, thanks a lot buddy! Gonna have a play at it, just now lengthen the hair as I want using the "style" button, and gonna move the side in/over ears, do a little "kink" settings and drap, see what happens :D Will have an image soon

Ok, yep, I'm actually starting another hair, 1 hair group this time, using left, right, front, and back cameras (4 views). I see collision detection (in pose room) only when I have V4 selected, but not the hair. I know how to select what I need in the clothe room, but there's no such option in the hair room, so I'm thinking do all the styles, length, etc... then use the clothe room. Am I correct for this assumption?

Thanks buddy, reading the tuts now, have already started playing around, another tut was specific about the dials under the button "Hair Style", started playing with that after playing with dials under "grow guide hairs" button. Then clicked "Hair styles" and learned that myself (moving hair from the root, then adjusting middles and tips) to make the long part go behind her shoulders smoothly. It's rough right now, but I'm learning.
I do have a quick question, how do you have the hair drape over her shoulders? Once I drape the hair, I loose all the hair styles adjustments and it goes through her shoulders & back. Or is it possible? Do you have to drape the hair before playing with that? Do you have to make the props first and use clothes room? Also how do you add the two new props to make them as one prop?
Here's my first attempt image...
