Thanks to all, solved the sluggish mouse phenomena.  BUT.....(drumroll)
Here's my newest challenge. I have my content arranged in multiple runtimes on a separate drive. I had no trouble mounting my old Poser 6 and Poser 7 runtimes, and accessing the content within them, but any of the other multple runtimes will mount but won't display the content icons. For example, I can mount my Toons Runtime, I can click on the Character library folder within that runtime, then click on the Favorite Toons folder within it, but then none of the content icons display in the library. For some reason PoserPro "finds" the old Poser 6 runtime on my C drive and my old Poser 7 runtime on my F drive but it cant "find" any of my other customized runtimes which are also right there on my F drive.Â
This is all new in Poser Pro never had this happen in any previous version of Poser and cant find anything in the documentation about what I'm doing wrong. Anyone else who's experienced this phenomena or knows how to resolve?

I'll try that too Garee, adjusting the poser.ini file. Thanks for the information on ATI I'll keep an eye for this month's refreshed update.

Yep I updated my ATI Catalyst drivers a month or so ago. And after that the "cursor delay" phenomena started in Poser 7. Maybe I'll give that a try, downgrade back to the 7.10 drivers.Â

Luke, Laura, Vicky 4, Mike 3, Koji, Stephanie, David, James, or any other DAZ or E Frontier character. None of them are children, women, or men. None of them have a gender. None of them are real people, they are all digital collections of polygons. No of them can be said to be exploited no matter how you present them because none of them are people.

Mike I was worried that your new figure might have the same problems the Daz and G2 figures have with the shoulder/upper arm area but looking at your renders they look very natural in all the bends you've demonstrated. That's a major accomplishment right there. Great work!

AtlantiStyle's latest character release, Andre 2.0/Basile for M3 has a really nice vien displacement map. You turn on displacement when rendering and it looks great.
It's a bit of an expensive character set though.

I tried the spawncharacter.py script Bopper mentioned above and that worked.Â
Whew! Saved a lot of time!

Phil I emailed you a link to download a CR2 file which demonstrates the FBM problem some of us are having with the FBM having an effect only on the head of the figure. It is a David file though.Â

I'm having the exact same problems as Tebop and Bear. After I create the FBM on my David figure and then spin the dial to one for that FBM it changes the head but not the body.Â
I am working in Poser 7, PC version.

Wonder if adjusting the joint parameters could help change the odd look of the breast area and maybe broaden the shoulder upper torso a tad. That's the main problem with him. Otherwise a really nice transformation.
Word has it that DAZ may one day release a Michael 4. Possibly sometime before this century draws to a close. Remember - the kind of thing they used to do really well before they got into the business of creating second-tier software?
Omigod there I go! Bitch, bitch, bitch!

With a lot of these .bvh files in Poser they'll distort the shoulders of the figure severely and do that 0,0 hip postioning Nance mentioned. Anyone who has tips on fixes for these please throw in your feedback I'm still figuring out best fixes.
Thread: Poser Pro 7..ETA? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yep it'll be just exactly like last year when P7 and Vicky 4 came out. Only this year it will be Poser Pro and Daz's release will be Mike 4. It'll be so late in the year you will have forgotten that they were actually forthcoming. Daz seems to be pretty much losing what was their forte of interesting new figure meshes. Now they can manage only one each year. Poser just needs to dump the legacy code and step up with world-class rendering and lighting. Oh I know ...bitch bitch bitch!

Ditto-ing what Ricky Ramwolf said above about strappy type items. I've had trouble getting workable conversions of suspenders, belts, army soldier chest straps, skimpy bikini bottoms and tops, that sort of stuff. They usually end up looking crumpled.
Also maybe I've just missed this somewhere on Phil's site, but I'm not sure I understand what smoothing by material is as opposed to standard smoothing options.
But this program is really my favorite Poser "add-on"
